From New York Times Bestseller, Pepper Winters, comes the fourth book in the USA Today Bestselling Dark Romance series, Goddess Isles“There was a truth once. Truth we shared in the dark and scribed scars upon our hearts. There was a lie once. A lie that shattered our hard-earned truth apart.”Eleanor Grace did the unbelievable. She fell for a man who trades in women, dabbles in myth, and has the … in women, dabbles in myth, and has the morals of a cold-hearted beast. However, love isn’t enough where past sins are concerned, and only pain can follow.
Sully Sinclair did the impossible. He gave his trust to a goddess who has the ultimate power to break him. Unfortunately, paradise is just an illusion, his islands aren’t impenetrable, and now he has to pay the price.
A fledgling connection.
A war they can’t stop.
A future that doesn’t bow to fate.
5 Stars – This series is forever going to be one of my favorites from Pepper. Heather, GR

This series just keeps getting better and better. Fourth a Lie was by far my favourite, but all the others brought us to this point. It’s an intense, suspenseful read. It made me gasp, made me cringe, and gave me crackling tingles. Pepper Winters continues to amaze and entertain. The Goddess Isles take you on a roller-coaster ride of epic proportions. Once you start reading this book, there is no stopping. Pepper’s writing is phenomenal. She is definitely an author who can use words to immerse the reader into a scene. Her imagery blows my mind!
While Sully Sinclair is turning a new leaf and starting to accept his fate of falling in love, brother, Drake Sinclair, is showing his true colors, and they are dark, very dark. He acts firsts and regrets later. His selfishness knows no bounds! He’s the one we all hate and just when we think Sully has found a way to defeat him, Pepper throws us another curveball and has left us hanging off the edge wondering just what she has in store for us in book 5, Fifth a Fury.
Needless to say, I am excited and on the edge of my seat. June 16th is marked in my calendar. Sad to see this series end but can’t wait!
This series is everything, and each book gets better and better. So unbelievably hot. Horrifyingly suspenseful. Packed with action and sensuality and addictive, intoxicating love. I don’t want the series to end.
This series keeps getting better and better. If you haven’t started Goddess Isles, do not pass go, do not collect $100, start today!
A once thriving community turned violent upon the arrival of Drake’s mercenary men. Welcome to the uninhibited wild island.
Fourth A Lie continues after Third A Kiss with Drake destroying the island with the animals and Sully dealing with the aftermath of his brothers rage against him.
Overall:
Drake’s arrival wasn’t what I expected, but all the same it was entertaining to read the direction Pepper took the reader. As an enemy he brought violence and danger to this island.
There are many ways to define the word dark, but this time dark wasn’t limited to violence. Dark had a new meaning when factored into the world where a drug was created for euphoric purposes. Shameless comes to mind as I envision a world with goddesses going crazy with lust. Pepper took the words “hot and bothered” to another level of insanity. The levels of ecstasy created by this elixir was explicitly entertaining. Peppers imagination never seizes to amaze me. I’m always amazed and impressed with the words Pepper chooses to describe the intoxicating ecstasy created by this elixir.
Pepper tapped into a new type of enemy. This was an enemy unforeseen from the beginning. There is a new type of evil to be afraid of and Pepper delivered its exotic fantastical dangers with pure raw insanity. You’ve never encountered this type of evil before. It’s an unexpected treat.
In all the chaos you can still find solace in Pika and Skittles with their cute little antics. These birds are a constant reminder of the comfort they provide.
Ugh…I can’t breathe right now. This book had me holding my breath the whole time. The. Whole. Time. What a ride Sully and Jinx have. Good and bad. This ending is brutal. This whole series is captivating!
I liked the storyline and where we’re headed with the last book, but I feel like we could have cut out on entire book from this series by cutting out the wishy washy back and forth, the overbearing “I’m a man so I have to sacrifice and send the heroine away because she doesn’t know what’s best for her and can’t have a say in her future” drama. This book alone could have easily been cut in half if we took that out. I’m ashamed to admit how much skimming I did with the book. But dang it, Pepper left us on another cliffy and I need to see this through. Onwards and upwards…
The only thing better than Sullivan and Eleanor individually is Sullivan and Eleanor together! Bounding over the obstacles, relentlessly giving theirselves for the other. Ahhhh!
This book is edgy and very dark, it is still sexy and all the feels a good dark romance book should be. I really enjoyed it!
What an amazing series. Dark, twisted and will challenge your comfort zone. This storyline is definitely captivating and I can’t wait to read the final installment of this series!
Once again Pepper Winters gives us a book where my guts are in my throat the entire time. There’s so much blood spilled on these islands, animals and human alike. Carnage everywhere. This book is completely action packed! Your heart won’t stop pounding until the very end. I feel so thankful that Fifth A Fury is already out because I would go mad if I had to wait. This is a series for me that I’m very thankful that I waited until all the books were out to read more than any other series. It’s so gripping and chaotic. Pepper Winters is beyond an amazing writer. She spins a tale with the deepest imagination.
I can’t take it! This series is gonna be the death of me. I felt every emotion reading this. I’m way too invested in Sully and Eleanor. I need the last book (and a hea) now!
I’m blown away! The twist and turns, along with the complete and total devastation this story makes you feel. Sully and Eleanor will have your heart pounding with such intense emotions. I couldn’t put it down, the edge of your seat suspense, the captivating love story ,it’s one action packed ride!
Can’t wait for the conclusion of this epic series!

This book had a whole lotta crazy in it that had me on the edge of my seat, and I was grateful for every second of it. This series stes Sully to be the villain, but once he and Jinx grow closer…then what? By book 3, I was wondering what could possibly happen next. And so, this story was the perfect addition to this series. It also redeems Sully in so many ways, before and during this story. He sees so much through this.
It starts out with Sully needing to protect Elenor in the one way he can. Her determination to fight him on this, and then through this, knows no bounds and I think both their acts speak to how much they truly love one another. I do also think how it played out was something that needed to happen. This story couldn’t progress or conclude with her never being apart from him. The opportunities he gives her in this one, that she turns away from, speaks to their love. Then all his actions are focused on her.
I held my breath for most of this book. I felt fear for both characters, but especially her. I didn’t know how it would play out with Drake. He’s a whole lot of insane, and if we thought Sully was the dark brother, think again! He had a unique way of his business, but in the end was nothing compared to Drake’s form of evil. I hate him so much. Pepper does a great way of setting up a villain that readers will genuinely dislike.
It seems like everytime they were so close, they were so far. There is a moment in the book though, near the end, where Sully had the opportunity but he didn’t take it. If this was a movie we’d all being yelling how stupid he was and how it would come back to bite him.
Overall great read though and I can’t wait to see how this whole story plays out and wraps up in the fifth and final one.
Man this series keeps blowing my mind with each book I read!!! And I keep wanting more and more!! And I keep thinking how ,how is she going to top the smoking hot levels that is a sure sign you are reading a Pepper Winters book!!! But d*mn she does it every single time!! She pulls out these images and puts them on paper andino your mind with which you are left with either your mouth hanging open or a little smirk on your face. And just hoping your man or your batteries can pull through later on that day. But this one was different than the other books. This one had some diabolical things happening that I definitely didn’t approve of or want happening and I need all that was happening fixed now and let me have book 5 now please!!! I’m so so glad these books are releasing really close to each other!! Because if not I think I would be heart broken or I would start breaking things ….lol You need to read this series now!! Especially if you like a little dark and twisted mixed in with your romance!! This is one of the best series I’ve read in a long time!!! I highly recommend it but like I said only if you like that touch of dark. And 5 stars in no way does this book or series justice!!! – by Tina
Fourth a Lie is by far the most dramatic installment in the Goddess Isles. It read like a never-ending nightmare with Sully and Eleanor facing the evil that is Drake Sinclair and the desperation to destroy him. With my own psyche was in ruins by the books end, much like Sully’s paradise.
Picking up right where we left off in Third A Kiss, there is a war brewing as psychopath Drake threatens everything Sully holds dear, with Eleanor is true Achille’s heel. There is a ton of action, intense emotion and the need for hope that this Armageddon will end and soon.
I was exhausted right along with Sully and Eleanor and hesitantly enjoyed any rare respite, as the clock continues to tick and more and more is destroyed. Not just land but souls as well.
With a few unexpected heroes emerging from the rubble, I fearfully hope that whatever transpires next will finally bring some peace and perhaps a semblance of normalcy, whatever that may be. But this is Pepper Winters and her extreme kind of creativity could promise anything at this point.
I will brace myself for the conclusion in book 5, Fifth a Fury, and keep my fingers crossed I’ll be satisfied with whatever Winters delivers next. Her stories continue to keep me engaged and her work is always unique and unexpected. And I can never seem to get enough.
4 solid stars!
“Time was my enemy. Fate was my prosecutor. And Sully… he wielded the axe to kill all my dreams, desires, and dreadful premonitions.”
I’m dead. I’m well and truly dead. This is me ghost writing.
With that ending of the third book, the story picked up where it left off with the looming danger on both the lives of Sully and Eleanor. The question is, will love be enough to survive it? Is it enough for Sully to trust the depth of Eleanor’s feelings and risk it all? These questions and other multitude of feels on this book had my heart race, pound and wrench. You could safely say, my poor heart was put into a wringer and you would be right. Not only that, but with again with that ending? I. Just. Died.
This book deserves all the stars, and more!!!
This series has been one edge of your seat adventure. I would never have thought Fourth A Lie would have taken us where it did, but man am ready for this finale coming up. Sully and Eleanor Grade are something else. There is so much action, deception and debauchery going on in this 4th book of the series.
So much going on with Jealousy, Cal, Pika, Skittles, Sully, Jinx, Dr. Campbell, Drake and his mercenaries. I want to get my hands around the throats of a few of them myself!
Drake is more than I can take and I felt my heart racing and me begging to let things end the way we really would have liked, but alas, it wouldn’t be a Pepper Winters story then, would it? We’re left on a cliff hanger, one I definitely wasn’t expecting and now I don’t know what to do with myself until I find out how things turn out. The beauty of the Caribbean cannot hide the ugliness that has consumed all of the people involved. Please let it be a good ending!!!!
I love Pepper but the agony of this cliff hanger. Sully and Eleanor have just found each other when Drake his sadistic brother tears their live apart.
Diving in I was unsure just what kind of a journey Pepper Winters was going to take me on. I was sure that she would play my heartstrings like a fiddle and take my emotions to different levels.
I loved Eleanor’s determination to hold on to what she has found with Sully. His determination equally as challenging when it comes to getting his way. No two people more fitted for one another aside from how they were brought together.
I think all I had seen through Sully’s eyes about his brother Drake was enough to make me share in his distain however the evil that comes from that man knows no bounds.
More twists and turns and secrets are revealed as we journey through Fourth a Lie. I will be using my time between now and Fifth a Fury to absorb all that has transpired in this book and try and prepare for what Pepper has up her sleeve for a finale.
Holy Crap!! My heart is THUNDERING!! Pepper Winters masterfully ratchets up the tension in this installment of The Goddess Isles. She has saved all the agony and all the diabolical drama and packed it in all into this book! I’m in a panic and thrashing around as if I am in an undercurrent of emotion. This book has left me drowning in an ocean of dread and anxiety.
Sully and Eleanor are in for a thunderous and destructive storm, and that attack is driven by Sully’s vile and villainous brother. Their devotion and affection for the other is tested and proven, only for it to be ripped away with the squall that comes with a tropical storm.
This is suspense at it’s finest. The story is as luminous and mesmerizing as the sea by which it unfolds. As the plot seizes the reader, the prose caresses and soothes. This series is nothing short of pure adrenaline, your pulse and heart will be skyrocketing from the very first page.
There will surely be comparisons to Winter’s previous series; one in particular, but my opinion is that Goddess Isles deserves merit of its own. Just like the exoticness of Sully’s island, this story will tantalize your taste buds and inundate your senses.
