A good, funny, forbidden romance between TJ and Mila. Their story is not simple but it is entertaining. I would be warned though because it does end on a cliffhanger of sorts and their story continues in Part 2.
There Are Light, Laugh Out Loud Moments, Spicy Scenes, And Wickedly Suspenseful Twists In This Brother’s Best Friend Romance!
This is the first book in the Four Week Fiancé series. It is TJ and Mila’s story; it ends in a cliffhanger. Their story continues in Four Week Fiancé 2. The final book of the series follows Cody and Sally, their best friends.
Mila Brookstone, twenty-two, is an enigma. She is both a realist and a dreamer. A recent college grad, she worked her way up from secretary to an assistant job in the buying department of her family’s business. The new job was not accompanied with a pay increase and she is frustrated that she isn’t allowed to make actual decisions. She wants more responsibility, but her father is concerned about being accused of nepotism. She spends too much for her meager earnings and is messy, very unlike her organized best friend Sally. They’ve been friends since kindergarten and share everything, but they won’t attempt living together again. It hadn’t worked out well when they tried it in college. Sally happens to be in love with Cody, Mila’s older brother. Cody, however, is too busy with his playboy lifestyle to pay her any attention. Mila has had a crush of her own for years. Her brother’s best friend makes her want to hit him and kiss him at the same time. Each fall her family spends a weekend at their lake house. Mila’s best memories have happened there, in part due to the fact that her brother’s best friend normally attends, too. She is a woman now, a working college grad, but she knows it is up to her to make the first move so this year she has a plan to seduce him. Finding Mila’s enthusiasm infectious, Sally has ideas of her own.
TJ Walker, twenty-eight, is a millionaire in his own right thanks to an inheritance from his grandparents. But he lives in the shadow of his billionaire father. The nonchalant playboy smiles for the cameras, but TJ knows it is all a façade; underneath his father’s public persona is a cold and calculating man. Both TJ and his father’s wealth has caused more than few to try to latch on to TJ, and he shudders when anyone wants to talk about his famous father. He has been best friends with Cody for twenty years, though, and their friendship is tried and true. They both enjoy a playboy lifestyle while working for their fathers . Cody does the accounting for his family business, which has hit hard times during the dip in the economy. TJ works for his father, too. He has plans for expansion and cost savings that will put the company in a strong position going forward, but his cheapskate father doesn’t have the foresight to see the value gained by a little up front investment. Instead, his father is pressuring him to do something that TJ knows is very wrong. He will do it, though. He has a plan, and he promises his father he will come through by the end of the weekend. But if the plan veers off course, TJ will be ruined.
TJ and Mila had played a game for years. Flirting and arguing, even a kiss once she had turned eighteen. But both enter the weekend with a plan to bring their relationship to the next step. Their plans go down the drain, however, because they get caught up in their games. Things get complicated when TJ invites Barbie along as his date. Then Mila’s fake boyfriend Troy suddenly materializes, adding to the chaos. Many hurt feelings occur during the course of the weekend, but somehow TJ and Mila manage to get some alone time together. Mila has dreamed of a romantic evening leading to losing her innocence to TJ. TJ has other ideas, though. He likes danger. He likes dark and dirty. He wants to show her who he really is, but isn’t sure she will stick around once she knows him. Their story ends in a cliffhanger.
TJ and Mila’s story begins here with a lot of romp and flirty banter. Mila is light and breezy – like a morning bird, according to TJ. She is also lonely, living too much in her head. Her lifelong obsession has been to marry TJ. TJ comes across as fairly normal, but he has a dark side. There are hints of a painful past and a lonely soul. He is poetic when inspired, and despite his aversion to romance, he seems quite capable when he puts his mind to it. Their story ends here with many questions outstanding. *Spoilers* Why does the length of time in the contact vary from the four weeks TJ asks for? Why does he require so much of her? What is the extent of his father’s involvement in his plan? How does Barbie factor into everything? Who was the second person TJ called? What are TJ’s true intentions? What happened at the business dinner? Why does Cody treat Sally so dismissively? What is behind Mila’s family company’s difficulties? Is Cody really so oblivious?
TJ and Mila’s banter and explosive chemistry is highly entertaining, and their angsty relationship will keep you guessing what secrets TJ is hiding. Their story in nicely written. The plot is complex. There are light, laugh out loud moments, spicy scenes, and wickedly suspenseful twists. The cast of characters keeps things fluid and uncertain. The story is written in first person. The POV alternates between TJ and Mila. I rate this book four stars.
I received an advance copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Mila is in Love with her brothers friend T.J. a guy she has know since childhood and she has been in love with him as long as she can remember. So when the opportunity comes along to play his fake fiance she jumps at the chance. Not realising just what this will entail and the possibility to get her heart broken.
I think Mila was very Naive when it came to T.J. …there are so many questions that hopefully book 2 will answer. And an unexpected turn of events.
I really enjoyed this book ,I know this story has had mixed reactions probably because of the cliffhanger.?But I found it very entertaining, super hot and sexy .
I always love reading J.S. Cooper’s books 5 fabulous Stars for me.
This is the first book in a series like all of her other books. The big difference between this series and many of her others is it ends with a cliffhanger, and honestly, I love the change-up!
Mila is a young and naive college graduate. She gets a crazy idea to seduce her long time crush and brother’s best friend TJ on the annual family lake trip. What she doesn’t see is the trap TJ laid for her and the fact she walking right into the lion’s den. TJ is a cocky man with a hidden world of kink and an agenda we don’t quite see yet. This book is a good read, but clear your schedule and be ready to quickly download book two!
Mila and TJ have known each other for most of their lives. TJ is Mila’s brothers’ best friend. Mila is in love with TJ and has been fore years, but TJ has always treated her like a dorky younger sister. Things are starting to change though, and TJ is showing an interest in her. He asks her to be his fake fiancé. I get the feeling that TJ has feelings for Mila, but his dad is a piece of work and is up to no good. Mila is going to end up hurt because let’s face it the girl is a bit naive and doesn’t think things through when it comes to TJ. The book is well written and the I’m looking forward to reading part two. It’s a fairly short read.
I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.
TJ and Mila are perfectly imperfect this story does end on a cliff hanger but the makings of a beautiful connection has begun. I liked this quick read.
In this book we have Mila, who has been in love with her brother’s best friend her whole life and she is wanting him more than ever now that they are both grownups. At times I felt like poor Mila was a little naive when it came to wanting to seduce TJ and the way she lied to try to make him jealous, but as the story goes on we know that Tj is up to something other than a 4 week fiancé and I felt bad for Mila because she has no clue she is being set up we just don’t know exactly how or why yet. Tj is powerful and seems like he has a dark side to him, he is truly attracted to Mila, but his hidden agenda makes it seem like he doesn’t care if he ends up hurting her or himself in the end. I am very curious to see what is going on and I want to see what this other side of Tj is about.
The beginning hooks you in with a very interesting storyline, once you get into it, it does slow down a bit. The characters are simple yet sometimes complex with their past history. The sexual chemistry between TJ and Mila is hot and heavy rife with interruptions and many secrets that are kept hidden left as a cliffhanger for you to find out the end in part 2 of this series.
I am voluntarily leaving a review for this book that I received free.
I loved this book. It was well written and kept you guessing (although, you had a sense of what was going to happen!). This is not a stand-alone novel, and the characters do not quite yet have their happily-ever-after, but they are well on their way! I loved this book so much, I started the second book immediately after I finished this and read 25% of the second novel in one night! A quick read that will leave you wanting more (and fortunately there is more to the story in the next book!)
ONE EXCITING WHIRLWIND
Fabulous! Cooper nailed this baby with 100% on point realism, delivering all heat, passion and stormy desire, banging this jewel harder than a cheap screen door, wrapping this baby up sleek, shiny and tight. Cutting loose, putting this baby through its paces, weaving it together strand by strand flawlessly. Blurred lines and broken boundaries, limitations are amplified and bent, laying out all the fervent facts, feels and fiascos, kicking this baby onward, breaking it down, blasting it into a tizzy with astonishing results. Coiled, wound and tightly bound, displaying the soaring ups and agonizing downs, impressive in it’s simplicity and thrilling in it’s depth, putting our characters through their paces, kicking this baby to staggering heights. The magnetism, attraction and chemistry collides with such intensity, exposing deep emotions, drawing our characters closer, binding them to one another perfectly. The characters, interactions and charged atmosphere along with relatable qualities and individual traits adding depth and diversity, transforming into genuine charismatic personalities. The scenes are abundantly descriptive with colorful details that blend and flow, creating a majestic backdrop that’s so rich and lively it feels like you can just reach out and touch it. Remarkable job Cooper, thanks for sharing this little jewel with us.
I enjoyed this story line, it was a quick easy read not really much angst, just fun flirtation and a fun read
T.J. has been Mila’s crush since forever. T.J. is her brother’s best friend but he is a tortured soul with a secret that affects Mila. I was disappointed that there was a cliffhanger, but the way it ended makes you want to see where this author is going to take them. I received this as an ARC & voluntarily give my review.
It Grabbed My attention and focus so strong I could not put it down. A word of advice when you get your copy. Grab a snack, a comfy seat, kick back and relax. You will not be moving until you finish this bad boy here. Remarkable job. Thanks for sharing.
Love it
This one good I’m enjoying it .she’s been in love with her brother best friend now years later they are finally to gather.
Loved this book!!
Poorly written. Juvenile.
Great series.
I don’t like installment books. This was part 1 of who knows how many parts. It’s frustrating to have to read another book to find out how the story ends
Love this book
Really really bad. Jumpy plot. Weird sex talk. Overall nasty. Felt like I needed a shower and I’m not a prude. Deleted it right away. Kept hoping it would get better. No desire to read the next one at all.
