Exiled society princess Francine Hayward Duvall has learned to stand on her own two feet in the Alpha colony hiding in plain sight in Alienn, Arkansas. It helps that the residents don’t give a hoot about who she used to be, only who she is. She’s a hard-working supermarket clerk who takes pride in earning her way. There’s really only one thing missing from her new life. Ichor-Delta bounty hunter … bounty hunter Luther Raphael Boudreaux left his family and all the royal trappings behind long ago and is fully aware that there’s no place for a woman in the nomadic lifestyle of his chosen career. He never expected his heart to be captured by a certain sweet redhead with nothing more than a look.
When Raphael offers to help Francine attend her sister’s wedding on Ichor-Delta, by posing as her fiancé, she jumps at the chance. In return, she’ll give the charming bounty hunter the cover he needs to help a friend in trouble. And if she can indulge in a little romance—or more—so much the better.
Francine might think he’s doing her a favor, but as far as Raphael is concerned, she is the one for him. He’ll go to any lengths to convince her that their adventure doesn’t have to end.
It’s only the beginning.

Book five in the Alienn, Arkansas series another well written story in this series. This is Exiled society princess Francine Hayward Duvall whose story I was hoping for. She meets Ichor-Delta bounty hunter Luther Raphael Boudreaux who is ex royalty. Their story has suspense, drama, danger, twists, turns, villains, kidnapping, and romance. I want to read the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Lose one family, find a better one. Francine and Rafael were living under similar circumstances. They were both banished from their families and found a new path in life. They met briefly, had a slight connection then met again. At this time, their slight connection became stronger. Francine wants to attend her sister, Prudence’s wedding. The last time, she attended uninvited, her parents had her thrown out, kicked off the planet, then sent her the bill. Francine and Rafe are good people caught up in untenable circumstances. Francine’s family is vindictive and petty. Their courtship was anything but smooth and easy. There were unfriendly elements that were against the union. Can Francine and Rafe Prevail? Did they make Pru’s wedding? Do they overcome the people trying to keep them apart? Excellent story! Ms Roake created an awesome town. Well done! This is not the usual princess-meets-prince book, not when both have been cast out of their respective families. That just gives me greater respect for our hero and heroine who have managed to create good lives by their own efforts before they meet and sparks ignite. The mayhem that ensues suggests that one of them has ‘Trouble’ as a middle name. So fun!
