A Featured Alternate Selection of the Literary Guild and Doubleday Book Club and a Main Selection of the Mystery GuildJanet Evanovich, bestselling author of One for the Money, Two for the Dough, and Three to Get Deadly, scores big with Four to Score, her most thrilling Stephanie Plum adventure yet. Working for her bail bondsman cousin Vinnie, Stephanie is hot on the trail of revenge-seeking … on the trail of revenge-seeking waitress Maxine Nowicki, whose crimes include bail jumping, theft, and extortion. Someone is terrifying Maxine’s friends, and those who have seen her are turning up dead. Also on the hunt for Maxine is Joyce Barnhardt, Stephanie’s archenemy and rival bounty hunter. Stephanie’s attitude never wavers– even when aided by crazy Grandma Mazur, ex-hooker and wannabe bounty hunter Lula, and transvestite rock musician Sally Sweet– and even when Stephanie makes an enemy whose deadly tactics escalate from threatening messages to firebombs. All of this pales in comparison, though, with an even greater danger Stephanie faces, when, homeless and broke, she and her hamster Rex move in with a vice cop Joe Morelli. RATED PG35 for licentious wit and libidinous cohabitation.

Always love this author. Own most of her books. Really funny!
Stephanie Plum books are a light, relaxing read, but I especially love this book because things between Stephanie and sexy copy, Joe Morelli, FINALLY heat up.
Wonderfull written book. Stephanie alyays has some bumps in her life but could things be finally going her way. She still finds trouble even when things are going her way. Hilariously witty.
She always makes me laugh out loud
I’d like any of these. They would make a great series.
I have read all of her books in the numbered series and reread them for laugh out loud moments
I love this series. I have read them all. They can be read on their own too.
Hysterical! An unlikely bounty hunter that gets into unbelievable situations and with 2 romantic interests. We should all have that problem. Some scenes are just laugh out loud. A girl from the Burg in Trenton! Her Grandma is also a hoot in the books.
Great mix of characters, and being a Jersey Girl I can envision the locations.
Once again Stephanie proves she is not the ideal bounty hunter…but somehow–luck? fate? a combination? she seems to get her skip. I must admit, I often have to laugh –(and explain to hubby what she’s done now). She definitely keeps you on your toes. This is my #4…if you haven’t read Ms. Plum yet, start at #1 at least to begin with it helps develop the relationship between her and Morelli, the sexy guy who has been in her life since forever…
4 out of 5 stars to Four to Score, the 4th book in the “Stephanie Plum” cozy mystery series, written in 1998 by Janet Evanovich. I was still playing catch-up on this series when I read this one several years ago. Hard to believe this series is nearly 25 years old. Wow! In this little caper, Stephanie’s trying to find a waitress who causes lots of trouble. And she seems to have stepped it up a notch now that those who come in contact with her wind up dead. Then there’s Joyce, Stephanie’s arch-enemy who seems to be trying to kill Miss Plum. So many people with vengeance. We need to figure out what causes those feelings in Trenton, NJ. Anyone live there who knows? Anyways… fun story, decent plot and lots of crazy moments. That’s what really makes these books — the laugh aloud moments where you hope no one saw you giggling to yourself like a child.
The fourth in a series of 27 Stephanie Plum books by Evanovich. I have loved Stephanie Plum from the first book to the latest (which I have not yet read, although I have it). These books contain laugh out loud, witty, full blown characters such as Stephanie, Grandma Mazur, Lula, Joe, Ranger, Vinnie and Connie. They are written in a style that is easy to read and the characters all come to life on the pages as you read. I love these books and hope all the readers get as much enjoyment from them as I have.
Okay, the plot in this one is… well, I forget. It’s funny, entertaining, you’ll rip through the pages… but it’s Stephanie and Joe Morelli’s first time doing the nasty that makes this a MUST READ. This has to be one of the hottest sex scenes EVER! OMG…–Alice Bello is the author of Hate Him XOXO and Better off Dead.
I enjoy the characters. A fun quick read!
All of this series is humorous and refreshing to read. I’ve never seen bail bondsmen at work so this is a more unlikely premise fora mystery than most.
I love this author and Stephanie Plum!
