Such a great book. I totally loved it. All the twists and turns made it that much better. I am sad to see the series end because I loved the characters. Great job l.b. keep up the great writing
Four Poor Souls by LB Carter did not disappoint!!
I absolutely love this series and have thoroughly enjoyed each story.
Darcie is desperately trying to find her best friends soul, that somehow went missing!
Larkynn, not sure if she is dead or dreaming, can no longer trust her own mind and keeps ending up in one twisted nightmare or another.
Chaos, bureaucratic obstacles and her sidekick Dash and partner Vin have abandoned her, can Darcie save Larkynn before she lost for good?
Unpredictable and full of wit, I could not put this one down, Darcies predicaments always seem to have me on edge and then laughing out loud!
It was very interesting getting more of the story of Darcie from another character point of view. With “Four Poor Souls”, her friend Larkynn has a voice. Poor Larkynn goes through a lot and not understanding what is happening at first. But she is one strong character. Author, L.B. Carter does a wonderful job writing about Larkynn.
There is more Darcie and Demon Marvin in this book as well and well, the sparks do fly. Great addition to the Loan Soul series. Don’t miss this one.
I have loved each and every book in this series and this fourth book was every bit as good as the rest! With a fantastic storyline that grabs you hook, line and sinker, you will find yourself lost in the plot as we hunt for Larklynn’s soul. Tons of twists and turns in this incredible world and I am sad to see this series end as it’s been an amazing journey!
Darcie’s best friend is dead—and her soul is missing! Now it’s up to Darcie and her crew (including the suave demon, Vin, and her quirky zombie fox, Dash) to save her.
This is definitely my favourite book in the whole series so far! Darcie is her usual spunky self, but her character has matured and grown a lot since the first book. I enjoyed getting to know Larkynn better and was impressed with her growth and bravery too. The chapters from her POV were really well done, terrifying, and deeply personal. The author upped the stakes with this one, having Darcie go toe-to-toe with Lucifer himself, and she tied together story lines from previous books in series that gave me several “aha!” moments.
As usual, Carter delivers a rollicking adventure filled with quirky humour, deep themes of friendship and loyalty, with a perfect dash (pun intended!) of horror. I loved it and highly recommend this series to anybody who enjoys Sabrina, iZombie, or Lucifer.
While we spent the first 3 books in the series following the exciting mishaps of Darcie when she finds herself in Hell, working for the soul exchange program, Book 4’s story takes us on Larken’s journey, Darcie’s best friend gone wrong.
Larkynn was part of the unwitting catalyst for Darcie’s demise, and when she finds herself suffering from cancer and locked in a psych ward after hallucinating her best friend and demons. After her untimely death, she disappears off Hell’s radar, and Darcie and her demon crush are tasked with the job of finding her and bringing her back for her just punishment. What they don’t realize is that Larkynn Satan has been up to no good, and Larkynn will have a larger part to play in the grand scheme of things. Will she find a solution in time? And will Darcie and her merry band of misfits be able to rescue Larkynn from something that could prove much more frightening than her final moments in the living world?
