In the days leading up to her wedding to Darcy O’Mara, Lady Georgiana Rannoch takes on the responsibilities of a grand estate, but proving she can run a household just may be the death of her in the new Royal Spyness Mystery from the New York Times bestselling author of On Her Majesty’s Frightfully Secret Service. If only Darcy and I had eloped! What I thought would be a simple wedding has been … be a simple wedding has been transformed into a grand affair, thanks to the attendance of the queen, who has offered up the princesses as bridesmaids. Silly me! I thought that withdrawing from the royal line of succession would simplify my life. But before Darcy and I tie the knot in front of queen and country, we have to find a place to live as man and wife…
House hunting turns out to be a pretty grim affair. Just as we start to lose hope, my globetrotting godfather offers us his fully staffed country estate. Mistress of Eynsleigh I shall be! With Darcy off in parts unknown, I head to Eynsleigh alone, only to have my hopes dashed. The grounds are in disarray and the small staff is suspiciously incompetent. Not to mention the gas tap leak in my bedroom, which I can only imagine was an attempt on my life. Something rotten is afoot–and bringing the place up to snuff may put me six feet under before I even get a chance to walk down the aisle…

I love this series. I have read them all. The first person thoughts of the heroine are so amusing I laughter while reading. The characters are believable and amusing. If you like historical fiction with a British twist this series is for you.
Rhys Bowen is a sublime author. Clever dialogue, great characters who move the story along naturally. Heartily recommend the entire series. You’ve gotta love Lady Georgie and her nutty family. Oops! Can I call the Royal family nutty? I think I just did.
Rhys Bowen is a wonderful writer. This far along in a series you must know whether you like her characters or not, and it feels like catching up with friends.
I love, love, love Lady Georgie, and Four Funerals and Maybe a Wedding was a delightful addition (the 12th installment) to the series! Lady Georgie’s wedding to Darcy O’Mara is imminent, and in addition to the normal trials of any bride – the dress, the guests, househunting – Georgie has to deal with not one, not two, not three, but four deaths throughout the story! It’s a good thing her godfather has solved one of her problems by notifying her that she and Darcy are able to live at his country estate, Eynsleigh….or is it?!? 5 stars to this laugh out loud mystery from Rhys Bowen!
This entire series by Rhys Bowen kept me entertained and coming back for more! I plan on reading them again very soon!
I love Rhys Bowen books. And this was no exception. They are funny, romantic, witty and wonderful characters. I look forward to her next one.
I have been reading this series since it was first published and I love these books. It’s not rocket science, but such engaging characters, good writing, clever twists,
and what seems like ( but probably isn’t) insider info on the British royal family of the 30’s! Also love the snarky comments about Wallis Simpson.
I love this author all her books are very entertaining,
I have read all of the books in this series and like the author, the characters and the plots
Great book. Lady Georgiana is such a great character! Royalty but financially poor. She always gets in these situations that are hilarious. Have read all the books and am hoping for more!
A continuation of this cozy murder mystery is lively and a quick read. It is a lovely escape read.
Ryes Bowen is always a fun author to read. Nothing too heavy, cute characters, whimsical but not silly. She rarely disappoints.
I just found this series and have enjoyed reading the books one right after the other. Now the hard part is waiting for the next book to be released. May just have to reread them!
I always enjoy a book from this series.
Finally! The long awaited marriage!
