Surrounded by a group of devoted four-footed and two-winged family members, Zak and Killian have built what should have been a dream life in their countryside farmhouse. But a cruel twist of fate and the re-emergence of old demons has frayed the edges of the men’s seven-year relationship until just one wrong move could end up severing their bond for good.Seemingly content to walk on eggshells … eggshells around one another, things come to a head when ER nurse Zak brings his work home with him… literally.
After being forced to leave their posh Southern California lives, homeless stepbrothers Liam and Noah are slowly losing themselves to the streets they can’t seem to escape. When twenty-one-year-old Liam is beaten up while protecting his younger “brother,” the pair find themselves being welcomed into a home where being a stray is considered a good thing. But Liam and nineteen-year-old Noah have learned the hard way that nothing is given for free and there’s no such thing as the kindness of strangers. Survival means only counting on and trusting in each other.
Will Zak and Killian’s offer of a no-strings-attached place to heal end up being more than any of the four men bargained for? Especially when feelings between Liam and Noah begin to crawl to the surface and the truth of what Zak and Killian’s relationship has turned into becomes harder to deny?
And what happens when lines begin to blur and needs start to change? Will Zak, Killian, Liam, and Noah end up going their separate ways?
Or will they learn that love doesn’t always come in twos?
*This is a novel about a foursome relationship, not just a story of two separate couples in physical relationships with one another. Thus, there is no “cheating” in this story. This is a standalone novel.

I loved this because it added a realistic story plot instead of it just being a romantic erotic story. You learn about the characters past that explain their reactions, fears, and actions. I Definitely cried for some of it. But all in all its amazing and I definitely recommend it to others who love MM Romance. Four Ever

I’ve read this book multiple times since I first purchased this book last year and have thoroughly enjoyed it every time. Yes, this book is a bit disjointed in parts due to the book being split between the characters and there’s a lot of angst throughout this story so I really would’ve loved getting more of them all at the end of the book once they all worked out their feelings for each other, instead of it just finishing in an epilogue as it would’ve made the story that much better but still an interesting read. I loved the connection between Zak and Killian and I’m glad that they sorted their issues out even if they didn’t really talk about the reason for their distance until nearly the end of the book. Man, what both Noah and Liam went through is heartbreaking but I’m glad that they finally admitted their feelings for each other and I’m glad that Killian, Zak and Liam all helped Noah find his voice after having selective mutism for years due to witnessing his father’s t*rture and m*rder. I think spending time with Killian and Zak and seeing them struggle and helping them through it helped them connect to each other. I had tears in my in my eyes a few times while reading this story. I loved their menagerie of rescue animals especially Waldo the Toucan but even his story was heart breaking and it’s horrible what humans can do to each other as well as too defenceless animals. I’d recommend this book, series and author to everyone.
This is a seriously juicy story, but despite being about an all male, foursome relationship, it’s unexpectedly weighty and emotional.
So, it’s actually not 320 pages of non-stop smut but a story of four lost individuals who manages to help each other heal.
And then, there’s smut.
So, Killian and Zak have been a couple for years, living together with a big family consisting of a menagerie of rescue animals. It seems idyllic, but since Killian was shot on the job 18 months prior, they started drifting apart and now they don’t know if they can ever find their way back to each other again. Then Zak, who works as a nurse, brings home two young men, one of them a selective mute and the other one injured after being attacked while protecting his brother. The brothers, Noah and Liam, are homeless, fiercely protective of one another, and deeply traumatized. But when Noah’s and Liam’s physical injuries start to mend, there’s an unexpected turn of events. And there’s sparks all around.
I wasn’t at all expecting the angst and trauma described in the first part of this book. The first half is pretty depressing to be honest. It’s dark and even horrifying in parts. There are no on-page triggers, but there are lots of referrals to past events of abuse, violence, prostitution, and there’s even murder. It’s captivating as heck, but I wasn’t prepared for all those emotions. I mean, I thought I was diving into some kind of fluffy erotica.
But not only was it a more sinister story setting than I was expecting, the portrayal of these four men was pretty impressing. These four guys were such distinctive individuals. Kennedy made them so very real and gave them such depth I’m actually quite awed. I don’t know how she managed to portray four main characters and still make them unique and flawed and so very engaging.
Because I’ve read plenty of books with just the standard two people setup who appear as human as paper cut-outs – unfortunately.
But then, after the angst and the tears, there is actually plenty of smut too. Good smut! I approve!
However, after that, there are some more tears. I had to blow my nose. Several times. But it was so worth it.
Basically, it’s great writing, great character depth, big emotions and hot nooky.
Also, lots and lots of animals. That was frankly a bit over the top, though. A miniature horse that’s allowed in the house and even in bed! Really?
Kind of freaky, but not enough to lower my overall opinion of Four Ever.

I really could have just kept reading about Liam, Noah, Zak and Killian forever. I kept skipping over this book because four people in one relationship seemed really complicated but what I found while these men did in fact have complications, the love they shared with each other outweighed any problems that arose. I loved their story and the steps each man took in order to be present in their relationship. Absolutely loved these men!
I loved the author and how willing the characters were to look outside what could be considered ‘the norm’ and made there own normal. How they loved. How they committed themselves to each other. How they grew as individuals and their relationship became perfect for each of them!
I didn’t know how a book about four men would come together but like the author has done with so many other subjects, this story was flawlessly put together. My heart was already breaking in the first chapter as we see the state of Zac and Killian’s relationship. I was already anxious to see them work things out. I feel utterly in love with all the animals that the couple had rescued, especially Waldo and Nana. They are such a charming and cute aspect of the whole story as a whole. Then we’re introduced to Noah and Liam. The past six months have been a nightmare as the stepbrothers struggle to survive on the streets. Zac is the nurse on duty when they are brought to the hospital after Liam is beaten badly. As they had done with so many animals, Zac and Killian quickly provide a safe refuge for the younger men. It’s heartbreaking to watch their struggle, especially since Noah is mute and it is so painful to learn why and how. It’s such a worthwhile journey to watch Zac and Killian make it back to each other. Then to feel the wonder and excitement as Noah and Liam acknowledge their feelings. Finally, the four of them come together to create something beautiful but still complicated and the journey is certainly not easy. This is a story that will stay with me for some time which is usually what happens after reading a Sloane Kennedy book. I don’t see a way anyone who reads this won’t fall in love too.
Thank you for your review.
I enjoyed this book very much. It had the right amount of angst, humor and steam. It happened so that the only other characters that played any major role in the story besides the four MCs were of four-legged or winged variety, and it made me focus on each and every man even more, see and hear them better, understand what’s between them.
There are four men. Each has a story to tell, his own demons to fight but each has a heart of gold and so much love to give. Amidst of trying to piece themselves together they have to figure out if there is future that includes all of them. I liked them. Zak was the healer, Liam was the nurturer, Killian was the protector and Noah was the heart. It was the heart that suffered the most. While Killian, Zak and Liam were able to find peace and comfort Noah had a tougher path to follow.
This story deals with severe PTSD, alcohol addiction, homophobia, bullying, domestic human and animal abuse, and I thought that Ms Kennedy did right by them – she wrote the book in such a way that made me feel what the men were feeling – their angst, their sorrow and their happiness. I loved all the animals, Waldo especially – little brave toucan protector. Even though Waldo was only a bird he managed to be a friend and comfort all men in their time of need.
This was a very well-written emotional story of healing and finding love, and I loved it. I highly recommend it.
Terrific book book. The guys find healing and comfort and let go of self inflicted guilt. A foursome shouldn’t work, but with Sloane’s talented writing it does.
The absolute heartbreak that Liam and Noah have been through, and their inherent need to protect each other at all costs was breathtaking. Zak and Killian have also had their fair share of trauma, but the never ending love and support that they share is awe inspiring. The need they all have to care for each other and learn to truly trust again was incredible to read.
I picked up Four Ever because the cover caught my eye. And not just cause there are 4 sexy men on it! I just think the cover is beautiful and then the title intrigued me. I wasn’t expecting to get such an emotional read. My heart bled for these four men as they coped with their pasts and forged a future together. To me this was the perfect blend of emotion and off the charts, steamy sexy times. Seriously, this book was beyond HOT! But the story behind it was the best part. I am looking forward to reading more books from Sloane Kennedy.
This book will show you the conflict that can happen with any relationship. When you start to lose that communication with each other. The characters were so well written that you see that not all is well with those color lens. Would like to see more of Killian & Liam to see if they can both let go all the guilt that has blinded them for so long with what is in front of them. The story does come with some emotional ride that helps you get a better understand of the characters. Highly recommend this book and you will love it today
