Edward Castleford, Viscount Rundell, was on the bride hunt. While he has never spurned romance, he has yet to find someone who fills his life with happiness. It isn’t until his father gives him an ultimatum – take a wife or get cut off without a cent – does he have to make a difficult, and rather quick, decision. By the time the Earl of Vellerman returns from Bath, taking the waters in a final … attempt to restore his failing health, he expects to hear of an engagement upon his return. Thus, Edward has narrowed down his choices to four amiable prospects…
Miss Sabrina Everhart is the companion of the Countess of Warably, but she feels like more of a servant. She is the lady’s poor, orphan relation who has become more of a charity case than a woman of proper age who might be allowed to join the marriage mart. However, just as she’s nearly become resigned to the fact she will remain as nothing but a plain wallflower, she suddenly starts to receive the attentions of Viscount Rundell. But what could a plain, penniless lady possibly offer such a handsome bachelor?

A short happily ever after Christmas story. The characters were wonderful. Even the “wretched crone”. Quite the tear jerker. Highly recommend.
Good read. Very quick short story. Liked the characters and the plot. Looking forward to reading more of this series.
It was a joy to read this short and sweet romantic story. The book was easy to read. The writer definitely made the book entertaining. I loved the twist at the end. I was a little shocked by it. The romance in the book is a plus. The two characters, Sabrina and Edward are so cute. The writer did great with the book. I reviewed this ARC after receiving a free gifted copy.
Four calling cards lead Edward to Sabrina, a woman he had never noticed but can’t forget. Sabrina has lost her family and is a companion. She doesn’t expect more out of life. A short but very good read.
Four cards. Four chances to make a match of the ladies his father had written on the cards and find love. Wait, scratch that! What could his father be thinking? Oh yes, since he had not found someone for himself, his father would push him right along or he would lose his inheritance. Edward had two weeks! Now off to the bride hunt ball!
Sabrina could only dread the ball. Acting as a companion to Lady Warably, she, the poor relation, was not expected to do anything but meet her every need. Then, she met him. Edward Castleford and he asked her to dance!!
A delightful story that was simply dreamy with an unexpected attraction that one could only love! I think the four calling cards were to be discarded and time to go to three french hens! Simply perfect for the holidays!
Starring Miss Sabrina Everhart and Edward Castleford, Viscount Rundell.
This was a very sweet and clean romance. Flirting and kissing only. I loved Sabrina and Edward. Their unexpected courtship made me smile a lot. Glad they found their HEA with each other.
Tabetha Waite is one of my keeper shelf authors. Love her books.

A Merry Christmas for Sabrina
Oh my, I am so enjoying this 12 Days of Christmas collection! What a darling holiday read this was, with a unique storyline, romance and a few surprises. Totally recommend Sabrina’s HEA with Lord Rundell.
To help Edward Castleford, Viscount Rundell, find a wife, his father has left him four calling cards, each with the name and dowry of a prospect. On his first outing, he meets Miss Sabrina Everhart, companion to the grumpy Countess of Waraby. She is not in his cards, but maybe she should be. This is a short delightful holiday tale with loveable characters and a surprise or two. The epilogue is absolutely lovely. This is an “ahhh” story. I recommend it.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
And the series triumphantly marches on
This is yet another great example of a brilliantly written short seasonal story. The plot is full of emotion and beautiful characters. This is a great book that will suit all those who love clean historical romances.
Edward Castleford, Viscount Rundell is handsome, two and thirty and eligible. His father, the Earl of Vellerman, has given Edward an ultimatum either find a bride by the time the Earl returned from Bath in a fortnight or find himself cut off. His father even left him with four calling cards of possible brides. He had no choice but to pick one of them but at a ball he saw Sabrina.
Miss Sabrina Everhart was the Countess of Warably’s companion after Sabrina was left orphaned. She was happy to have food and a roof over her head, but she felt treated more like a servant than a companion and though thankful, she was not happy. While attending a ball with the Countess, Edward stopped to speak to the countess and both he & Sebrina were drawn to one another & later he asked her to waltz.
The attraction and whirlwind romance happened – it was a great solution for both, and they cared for one another. The ending was sweet, full of family and love – it was a well written novella that left me smiling. I voluntarily read & reviewed an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book; all thoughts & opinions are my own.

Will his father’s demand lead to more than he expected …
A sweet and cute short read to cheer the mood.
When left with an ultimatum to find a bride in a fortnight, Rundell is contemplating the four names selected by his father as prospective spouse. But none is appealing to him. But what other choice does he have.
This is how is now at a ball, ready to meet one of the fourth ladies, but instead of looking for this miss, he finds himself attracted to a demure and shy spinster in the making.
Sabrina is the classic left destitute country miss, not a real beauty, no wealth, no lofty acquaintance. So now she is the companion of a difficult lady, closer to a dragon temper than an Angel’s.
So when she catches the eyes of an attractive young peer, she wonders if tables could be turning.
The author offers here a cute short read about a man when enticed to do his duty to his title, strays from the path sketched for him to rescue himself from a loveless union.

I was granted an advance copy by the author, here is my true and unbiased opinion.

A well written captivating novella with lovely characters, I loved both Edward & Sabrina & devoured their whirlwind romance in a sitting. They were attracted to each other from their first meeting, which quickly grew to liking & to love. I wasn’t expecting a revelation about Sabrina but loved her reaction to it. I also loved the catch up with Jonathan
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
