Found in the Lost by Tarina Deaton is the first book in her The Leonidas Corporation and also part of Susan Stokers Special Forces: Operation Alpha series.
Wow just WOW this was really good and I’ve fallen in love with Shane and Kinley! Take a Crypto Archaeologist needing a ride to her dig and a former Navy SEAL on vacation in Guatemala throw in some mystery-Think Romancing the Stone-and intrigue sprinkle with a little bit of greed and you have Found in the Lost.
Kinley Dunn may have solve the mystery of a Mayan ruin in Guatemala if her ride ever shows up. When some shady characters offer help Shane Ivers (And Phantom and Ace) offers to get her to Carmelita near the ruins. But when bandits stop their driver Shane starts to wonder who is after Kinley and why? Even when a kidnapping turns deadly and of course a friend who betrays her (plus wants to take credit for her find) Shane calls in some help from his former SEALs and new employer Leonidas for the climatic rescue.
Even though Shane Ivers misses being a Navy SEAL he’s anxious to find his place in Leonidas. When he sees Kinley needing help at the airport he jumps in to rescue her. He’ll still get his hike through the jungle as first planned but now he’s also protecting Kinley from goons who want to claim all her hard work.
This author has the ability to pull me into her story and make it realistic. It is well written story that I had a hard time putting down until the last page. Her characters are well develped, connectable and full of heart. This story has a little bit of everything from emotions to action to some suspense. This is a journey with an ex SEAL and archologist who run into bad guys and don’t forget to add the romance. Engaging story that I highly recommend, my favorite yet.
Tarina Deaton is a new author to me and she didn’t disappoint. This is the first in the Special Forces–The Leonidas Corporation Books.
Kinley Dunn is a Crypto Archaeologist and has translated an ancient Mayan text that no one else has been able to do and she wants to be part of the discovery team, her first dig. However she finds herself stuck in Guatemala with no way to reach her friend and mentor.
She gets offered a ride by Shane a former Seal and his 2 buddies, former teammates who are also in Guatemala but are there to just relax, catch up and have some fun.
So starts a fast pace adventure through the jungles of Guatemala, bad guys and lets not forget the romance!
This book has some of my favorite things: hot former military guy, a smart lady archeologist, plenty of action and steam and last but not least a guest appearance of Ace and Phantom from Susan Stoker’s Legacy series. Patricia Eddy pulls off this fast paced page turner beautifully and I am looking forward to seeing more of The Leonidas Corp. Enjoy!
This book blew me away with fast-paced romance and suspense. Couple that with military heroes and you have a winning combination. Oh, and did I mention a hunt for treasure? The chemistry between Kinley and Shane is smoking hot with all the sweetness and passion of true love. The action kept the story moving well and it had the perfect amount of suspense and hot sweaty sex. This first book in the Leonidas series has certainly whet my appetite for more. I especially cant wait for Paige to get her book. Highly recommend this book and this author.
A great adventure featuring ex SEAL Shane Ivers and crypto archaeologist Kinley Dunn. Each is in Guatamala for different reasons. Shane, to take a vacation with two of his SEAL buddies and Kinley, to participate in her first archaeological site dig. She hopes to prove that her research theory is right and maybe find a mythological treasure…..or is it a myth? And is Kinley the only one searching for it? She soon finds out that someone else with dishonorable intentions is also after the riches and they want to use her knowledge in finding the secret chamber that holds the gold. Of course, our hero ,Shane, isn’t going to allow that to happen and keeps her out of harm’s way and directly into his arms.
The story is a quick paced adventure through the jungles of Guatamala with plenty of bad guys, fun sub characters, and a terrific love story. Think Raiders of the Lost Ark and enjoy the ride.
