A warrior with a scarred heart who doesn¿t know how to love. And the woman who must teach him how before its too late. The son of the evil AllFather, Xairn is filled with conflicting emotions. On one hand, he has finally gained his freedom and cut the ties that bound him to his race and the sadistic male who is his father. But doing so has unleashed feelings in him Xairn would rather keep buried. … buried. Desires that he prayed would never manifest now rage through him and they are centered on one woman alone.

Xairn is Scourge; raised on the Fathership, he has the grey skin and red on black eyes that denote his kind. He doesn’t believe that he is physically or emotionally attractive to anyone, especially the human he’s protecting. Little is he aware that Lauren Jakes is already in love with him and finds him perfect as he is. Yet, none of this matters as both of them need to have their DNA modified so that Xairn’s father won’t find and use either of them for his nefarious plans in the future. They both need to change to survive.
Found is an early Brides of Kindred novel, and it doesn’t have the lightheartedness that many of the future stories have. This book is story-and-character-driven. There is a lot of emotion between these characters–a great deal of torment in Xairn, trauma in Lauren, and because of that, the book takes many very dark turns.
One of the reasons I so loved this book is that Xairn is a very sympathetic character. He’s very easy to fall for, and despite his self-loathing, you can see the good in him. Lauren is a sweetheart with a lonely heart who only wishes to be physically loved by her lover. That he doesn’t feel like he can do that without causing her harm makes their love story more tragic than forbidden, and for most of the book, it comes across like that. I enjoyed the idea that Xairn had to accept his Scourge side more than Lauren had to do so. I loved it that she loved him, knowing who he was from the start.
Good on you, Evangeline Anderson! You keep doing this writing thing. You’ve got a little something-something. Mama’s proud!
Wow, I was doing well, and then I made that weird.
I recommend. Start this series in order and read it from book one onward. There are A LOT of books to read, but you won’t regret it, and you will find the start and stop of all the storylines. Xairn is definitely my favorite of the first four.

Would luvs to write a review on this one, but I’m WAY too busy building my spaceship so I can find the Kindred’s mother ship so I can be CLAIMED!! *SWOON* They won’t find this human bride fighting them in ANY way!!! This is my fav of the Brides of the Kindred series!! I luvs Xairn!! Highly recommend this one!!
Found started off great but as I read more and more it started to get slower and slower but eventually it did pick up leaving me wanting to read the next book in the series. In this book we get Xairn and Lauren’s story, Xairn is the only being powerful enough to take down his father and if he wants to keep Lauren safe that’s exactly what he has to do. The AllFather isn’t making things easy and he constantly makes Xairn crave what he needs and with Xairn not wanting to hurt Lauren that leaves both of them sexually frustrated. Xairn is a scourge and his needs are more dominating that what he believes Lauren can handle and he doesn’t want to hurt her. The battle I was expecting between Xairn and his father fell a little short for me; I was expecting so much more. However, I can’t wait to read Nadiah and Rast story; I’m hoping their story has more action in it as her parents are a bit overbearing when it comes to her and their status means everything.
Another great super length erotica with an actual heroine made of sterner stuff than the previous three books!
This is a very addictive series. I have to say that this story was by far my favorite I really like that Lauren was very independent and confident but she could also be very annoying her constant back and forth and her saying things like ” I’m feminist so I shouldn’t like to be dominated” really had me rolling my eyes. All she had to do was look up BDSM and come to some of compromise. Xairn was such a tortured soul and every scene with him literally had my heart breaking for him. What I like most about this book was even though Xairn had a torturous past Lauren was able to look past the surface to a man desperately in need for love and love him unconditionally. I can’t wait to see what going to happen next.
