The Ballers may have the upper hand at RHS. I underestimated them, their cruelty, their ability to look the other way when something hits them over the head, but camp is a whole other story. Their asses are mine.Foul Line is a reverse harem high school bully romance novel. It’s the second book in The Ballers of Rockport High series.
OMG!! This book is totally fantastic And I could not stop reading once I got started!! This is amazing because I have to say that I am not a basketball fan in the slightest but the way this is written I didn’t care in the slightest. The evolution of this story is fantastic in this book. They are all at camp after that horrid school year and Tessa is determined to show how good she is. This is a huge task that will be a whole lot more involved then she ever could have thought. The next book is going to blow our minds!! Total must read! I loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.
Game On introduced us to Tessa and the Ballers of Rockport High. Their relationships were contentious at times, and super hot at others. But they let her down and betrayed her trust. Now it is time for the annual summer basketball camp and Tessa has a new Motto “Bigger, Badder, Better.” She isn’t going to let Lake the Snake get to her and going to concentrate on winning on the court. That is all well and good until certain members of the Ballers decide to try to make right what they screwed up. I love how they finally begin to stand up for her against Lake. I love how the coaches, her dad included, are finally beginning to see what a poisonous creature Lake is and that the Ballers have finally had enough with his crap. E.M. Moore has created characters that get into your brain and do not want to leave. Though there is still a special level in hell for Lake, the rest of the Ballers have come a long way since Game On and it will be interesting to see if they continue that trend in the next book. I cannot wait for said next book and highly recommend this book to anyone who likes why choose books, bully romance books, or sports romances.
Well EM didnt pull any punches in this second book of the Ballers trilogy! I think I liked this one more than book 1 and that is always great in a series to see it keep getting better and better with each book. Like I mentioned in Book 1’s review, I devoured this series over a long weekend so you can tell I loved it so much I needed to keep listening. And listening to this story is already making me hyped up for March Madness in a couple months!!
In terms of the story I loved seeing the progression after the aftermath of book 1. I liked that Tessa didnt just let them all back into her life right off the bat when they realized the errors of their ways. I liked getting the camp aspect, along with some fun basketball scenes. Add in some rivals/competition and I am glad the boys got their heads on straight again. I thought the baddie was fabulous, I wanted to throttle him and he is a fictional character! I felt bad for his situation but still not ok. I thought the new coach was kinda off from the very beginning but I didnt expect all that haha. No spoilers from me, buuuut you should definitely read/listen to this book right now! Hayes stole the show in this book. I loved how EM gave him his time to shine after being so quiet in book 1. I loved him struggles and seeing the guys and Tessa be there for him. I loved seeing the tension being alleviated (can’t do a whole lot while at a camp where your dad is and someone is out to make your life miserable). Fantastic sequel, can’t say it enough.
Audio was again good as long as I kept it to 1.5X speed. I still think this could have been elevated with a male narrator, but Elizabeth held her own with all the different voices and emotions. Good inflections and perspective. If I slowed it down I would not have been as happy with it, but I understand why narrators do it at that speed, because its easier for people to find the right one (can’t be fast to begin with at 1.0X speed).
5/5 Stars easily from me, again highly recommend this contemporary RH sport romance trilogy, you will love the Ballers and Tessa
Holy Basketball Camp!!
I freaking loved Foul Line, I loved the intensity of Camp and I absolutely loved that Tessa stood her ground for the guys and that they actually followed through this time.
Tessa knows what she wants and this time she isn’t going to let the Ballers stop her, she gives it her all and doesn’t back down this time.
I loved when she put her Dad in his place and told him exactly how she was feeling, she was being honest with not only herself but everyone around her too.
The Ballers have so much making up to do and they need to show it and not just say it before they can win back Tessa’s trust and affection.
Hayes 100% wins my vote, he does what he says he is going to do and he isn’t taking it lightly. He fights for her.
Alec has been my favourite from the start and I loved seeing him more vulnerable and opening with Tessa.
Sloan and his affection always has me smiling.
Ryan’s finally showing he cares and I am here for every moment.
I am so freaking ready to see Tessa and her guys dominating on the court and coming out on top in the final book At The Buzzer.
I’m really mad at myself for not finding this author and series earlier but I’m extremely happy I did. This was intense af and really hot with a dash or two of humor. I can’t wait to dove into book 3 next to see what happens next bc my heart is in pieces right now!!
This is the second book in the Ballers of Rockport High, and it definitely does not disappoint. We get to pick up in the summer at the basketball camp the group has gone too since they were in middle school.
We get to see the relationship between Tessa and her Dad more in depth after seeing lots of her relationship with her mom in the previous book. Tessa’s relationship with Ryan, Alec, Sloan, Hayes, and Lake intensifies for both the good and the bad. I love that the boys do have minds of their own, and each starts to more further in their relationship with Tessa. E.M. Moore starts to give us more in depth glances into the guys, and their personal struggles that affect their relationships with each other and Tessa. Tessa definitely takes some punches, and is put through the ringer at camp. We get to see just how tough she is as a person.
Can’t wait to see what happens when they get back to school now that some things have come to light for the group, and they are starting to see things differently
Loved this one!
I love Tessa. I love that she not quick to forgive the guys. And I love that the guys grovel. And that they see how messed up what they did was.
That ending I freaking HATE Lake. He deserves everything he did to Tessa x100!
I need book 3. I need to know what happens!
5 stars for Foul Line by E.M. Moore. This is book 2 in The Ballers of Rockport High series. If you have not read book 1 you must before you read book 2. This book picks up right before camp is supposed to start. Going to camp we have Tessa, Ryan, Alec, Sloan, Hayes, Lake and River and this spells trouble. Lake starts off with Tessa right off the bat. We also learn that Hayes has been standing outside Tessa’s house everyday when school was going on , so what will happen between them now that they are in camp. We learn a lot about each of the boys in this book. We also learn that there is more to Lake’s issues than what Tessa is aware of. The first guy to actually come to Tessa’s aid is Hayes and that means a lot to her. Tessa is strong in this book, a lot stronger than in the first book I think. “Well, someone around here has to have a set of balls.” The question what will happen when Lake takes things too far. “Oh, dear God. These Ballers are going to ruin me.” I am loving this series, and I can not wait for the next book. E.M. Moore’s writing is simply amazing. This is a must read.
This was a good book, continues book one. There was an even balance if things I liked (the boys, the basketball, the lead female) and things that I didn’t (forgave too easy, not much Dawn, too much family drama).
I’m interested to see hiw the last book plays out. I have some theories and hopes, but I’m not holding my breath. This author has a way of taking a turn I didn’t anticipare. Over okay book two. 3.5 stars.
Freaking Lake….. I don’t wanna give spoilers but man oh man! I don’t think I have a love/ hate relationship with him like I do the others. Can he change my mind? I’m dying to know! This series is by far the best bully series I’ve read!
This was an easy 5 stars! This is such an amazing series and the story with a girl not only playing a male dominated sport but also winning is amazing. The ending show down with Lake had me flipping pages as fast as I could. I am so pissed at Lake and his petty jerk self. I can’t wait to read the next book.
Ok, where to start? I guess let’s start with this. Y’all know I LOVED Game On. Like it’s been my favorite book this year. So I’m not going to lie, as much as I was anticipating this release, I was also scared to death of it. I had such high hopes for this book that I was scared I was going to be let down. Had I built it up so much in my head that E.M. could never live up to it? I already had in my head what I just knew was going to happen. So if I started reading and that’s what happened would I be disappointed that I saw it coming? Finally the wait is over and Holy. Fucking. Hell. It was just as epic as the first book.
Tessa to me was fierce in book one and in book two, she’s even more badass. She let her guard down once and she got burned, she’s not going to make that mistake again. She is determined to show these boys what they lost out on. To earn her way back into the game. To show The Ballers that she is not weak.
The boys, well first let’s just take a second to recognize all the fucking gloriousness that is Hayes Iceman Irving. Be still my heart. When he opens his mouth and speaks, swoon!!!
When I kiss you for the first time, it’s going to change me
I fucking love him. He was my favorite at the end of book one and he’s still my favorite now.
I guess we can give some of the others boys some love too. Tessa takes them through the trenches. They deserve every single bit of it. We do start to learn more about each of them though and I don’t hate them anymore.
All except for Lake. I still hate that fucker with a passion that is beyond anything I can even express with words. E.M. even had me for just a minute. I thought, damnit I’m going to have to feel sorry for this piece of trash and maybe even like him when she’s done. Nope, not even a little. I want to run him over with a fucking bus. I big one.
Ok I digress. So this book picks up at camp. This evens the playing field a little b/c The Ballers aren’t king of anything there. Everyone is good. While Tessa starts to dish out her revenge, she finds she has an unexpected ally at camp with her as well. She can’t let anything deter her from accomplishing her goal though. She has to be the best and show everyone she deserves to play at Rockport. But man do we ever have some distractions happening. Between coaches, her dad and The Ballers, she has a ton on her plate.
Now as I said before, I just knew in my head what was going to happen. Y’all know I spent a TON of time discussing book one with my girls. I bothered the crap out of E.M. with questions. I had it all figured out. WRONG! I could not have been more wrong. What I imagined was bad but this, this is so much worse. Once again I was left literally shaking at the end of the book.
Bravo E.M. on another absolutely fantastic book. I can not wait for book three.
MVP BROKEN
This book was an amazing book because it showed the different sides of our main characters. Our heroin Tessa is a bad ass who shows up all the other players at camp including our Ballers. Lake is our villain and knowing more about his issues opens your eyes to hate him even more. Loved that we touched more on side characters of Chase and his lacrosse buddies. We close some questions about Tessa’s personal life which was nice. But now we wait to see what Lake’s fate will be at RHS. Also we wait to see what Tessa’s whole future of basketball will be. Can’t wait to read “At the Buzzer” (book 3). Thanks E.M. Moore for this series.
I really enjoyed the first book in this Series, Game On. I had never read any of E.M. Moore’s works before and now wonder what took me so long. After reading the second installment, Foul Line, I am trying to figure out where the heck my day went and when can I get my hands on the next book. I devoured this book in a matter of hours and hated when I got to the Epilogue because I knew it was ending. I love Tessa and the boys: Ryan, Sloane, Alec, and Hayes. They are wonderful, complex characters and I really hope we learn more about their backstories in the future book. Hayes has become my personal favorite because of his loyalty and quiet intensity. However, I think as you read through the books you will find they are all equally interesting, even Lake. I am so excited to see were the final installment, At the Buzzer, goes when it comes out next. And I plan on adding several more E.M. Moore novels to my TBR! 5 Fantastic Stars!
