This was a really unique story. I found it to be heartbreaking at times but really well written. It was really realistic in many ways even though the main character was a psychic. I have added the author to my read list as I plan to read more books by this author.
Leena was given a gift her mother and aunt both have it. Her father is a different story he has made life hard for her so she lives on the streets. Leena needs a change she decides to go to her aunt but when she finds out her aunt was murdered she wants to help. You see she can see things. This is how she starts talking to Rodger. There is a bit of everything in this book. Sex bdsm paranormal love murder backstabbing great characters love it on to the next one.
This was amazing! I’ve had this one on my TBR list but never seemed to find time in my days, I’m kicking myself now for not getting to it sooner!! I loved Leena, her past with her family, the gifts she has and the reluctance to get involved again made her very real to me. Roger was perfect for her, the way he lets her be herself but shows her what she could have with him.
The storyline pulled me in, I thought I knew what was going on and was so not right, that makes me happy! I like a bit of a surprise! And this had everything I needed in a story, best part is I have book two ready to read!
I think I need to go start book two now and see what’s going on in New Orleans with Leena!
This story is unique filled with mystery, intriguing, romance, steamy chemistry and drama, with some kink throw in. My heart really went out to Leena for the way her father treated her. She has the gift of sight, but he treated her so hurtful and mean with her gift being a curse. I can’t blame her for going to live with the aunt. Here hopes and dreams go up in smoke when something happens leaving her devastated and on the hunt for those responsible. What she finds is a serial killer is out hunting down those of her kind and killing them.
Roger is a homicide detective and hot on this case trying to find the killer before he can strike again. Leena is helping him hoping her sight will find the killer. Roger isn’t happy about putting her in danger and wants to keep her safe. He agrees to her help thinking the best way to protect her is to keep her by his side. The attraction between these two is off the charts right from the start. Leena doesn’t want anything to take away from the hunt for the killer, and she is afraid if they let the attraction grow into more she may lose sight of what her goal is. The investigation takes her in to the dark world of sex and sin giving her a shock of her life. Something she just wasn’t prepared for but nothing will stand in her way she will find those who are reasonable at all cost.
The author gives a wonderful story filled with detail that made me cringe as much as it did Leena. My mind will not even work through all that she must have felt as she looked through her eyes and saw all that she saw. You have to really admire her when she won’t give up or stop her hunt no matter what she sees or how much her life is in danger. As a reader be prepared for some very shocking things that will hold you on the edge of your seat. At times I had to close my eye just to clear my mind and work through what I had read. I can only imagine how that must have been for the character. At times it was hard for me to remember Leena is a character and this was a work of fiction. It became so real to me. It isn’t a story of all doom and gloom there are so very nice surprises that will make you smile.
I really liked the main characters and feel they are perfect for each other. I thought this was a very passionate read alone with a wonderful plot that holds your attention. I thought it was well written, loved the surprises and the twists and turns. Can’t wait to read the next in this series.
