I never asked to be an Omega.I’m a Fortune Fae—I see the future. But I didn’t see this coming. My Alpha will stop at nothing to possess me and has dragged me all the way to Fortune Fae Academy to join the other wide-eyed Omegas-in-training. He believes I’ll survive–and I hope he’s right. He also believes I’ll kneel at his feet.He couldn’t be more wrong about that.I don’t need three broody Betas … wrong about that.
I don’t need three broody Betas and an asshat Alpha telling me what to do. When I graduate the Academy as an ascended Omega, I’m rejecting my mate-circle and getting the hell out of here.
Except there’s one slight problem. My Alpha has seen the future too… and he knows something I don’t.
Whatever he thinks is going to happen, his cruel smirk says I’m not going anywhere.
Fortune Fae Academy is Book 1 in a Reverse Harem Omegaverse Romance. Be warned there are obsessive males who will stop at nothing to claim their fated mate. As this is a series, book 1 ends on a cliffhanger.

What a wonderful read from J.R. Thorn! Seif doesn’t want to be a Midnight Fae, he wants to be a Fortune Fae Alpha. In order to do that he needs to find his Omega and Beta to complete his mate circle. Gina doesn’t want to be an Omega, fearing a vision she saw that would break her. Axel doesn’t want to be a Beta, he has dreams of being an Alpha of his own, despite being born a Beta.
I will warn you this story ends on a cliffhanger and a doozy at that. I enjoyed the story, and want to see what happens with Seif, Gina, Axel, and the others. Will Gina’s fiery spirit win? Will Axel achieve his dreams? Can Seif circumvent the future he is trying to rewrite?
The characters were rich and drew me in, the story kept me reading, and there were twists and turns along the way to keep me guessing as the story progressed. Now, my question is, when is book 2 out???
Wow. Just… Wow.
I am totally blown away by the start to this series.
In the first few chapters I felt that the story was a bit disjointed but it came together so seamlessly and smoothly.
I absolutely adore Rowan and Zeke. I’m in lust with Axel. And as for Seifiek… I have a feeling I’m going to want to throw myself at his feet and beg him to keep me.
I cannot wait for the next book. I need it soon please!
Wow! Talk about the ultimate game of cat and mouse or hide send seek. Very steamy, and ends with a HUGE cliffhanger. An extremely feisty female is determined to change her future. She’s willing to do ANYTHING to make sure the vision she saw doesn’t come true. However she’s not to know she may not have seen all the pieces. Can she maintain her heart, soul and Destiny at the same time? Enjoy the Chase!!
This was my first book by J.R.Thorn and I really enjoyed it!!! I love a good fae romance!!! I look forward to the next book in the series!!! Read and enjoy!!!
This book does a fabulous job of demonstrating Thorn’s amazing skill; a skill that is clearly growing the more she uses it at that.
This is a dark, omegaverse read and it contains dubcon and a hierarchy you might not appreciate if you’re close-minded or sensitive or easily triggered, so consider this a warning if you can’t handle such things.
That said, it’s epically, brilliantly done and throughout the read, I couldn’t help but marvel at Thorn’s talent. The reader is treated to multiple, alternating POV and may find themselves rooting for everyone whose POV they’re treated to … yet each one’s goals/ life mission / contradicts at least one of the others’. You’ll be kept on your toes for sure. It’s fast-paced and complex at times, due to the nature of the Fortune fae and their realm. I strongly recommend having read Elemental Fae Academy , Midnight Fae Academy, Midnight Fae Academy Book Two, and Midnight Fae Academy: Book Three: A Dark Why Choose Paranormal Vampire Romance prior to starting this world. The more familiar you are with this world and some of the other fae realms, the easier it’ll be to grasp, as it all becomes second nature eventually.
As someone who’s been treated to a few scenes with Gina now, thanks to the books I already mentioned, plus Elemental Fae Holiday , I was extremely amused by finally reading in her POV. Much of what other people find frustrating about her is really just her trying to be helpful. They think she’s sort of flakey, or off in the clouds, but she actually deeply ponders things first. Brilliant character development, continuity and perspective. Again, demonstrates extreme talent on Thorn’s part.
Ebook:
Absolutely stunning and free of distracting errors.
Audiobook:
Yummy. The male narrators’ voices are pure sex, but also smooth and easy to listen to. The males’ pronunciation is great and tones tend to be appropriate.
The female has a smooth, pleasant voice and I’m a huge fan of hers. Her accent isn’t always ideal. After many listens to her, I do still find myself just momentarily distracted or confused here & there. For example: “This was a secret I doubted minnie knew…” and i’m like “Huh? Who’s Minnie??” for just a second before I realize “minnie” is this narrator’s way of saying MANY. Similarly, “offending” is “offinding” , meant is “mint”, etc. 99% of the time, this is a non-issue and I do seek out books by this narrator, as someone who has trouble listening to most people read. 4.5 stars for the audio performance.
5 stars.
Ends on a wicked cliffhanger but totally worth it.
