I wish my job as a magical librarian was just about shuffling books and shushing people from behind a desk. Alas, the magic I wrangle requires a bit more than shuffling and shushing. And to make things worse, I have a frog and a cat, and I have no idea how to use them!Sure, I understand, we all have bills to pay. Personally, I could use a bit of extra cash too. But I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t kill … cash too. But I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t kill for it. At least…not without dark magic influence. And that’s exactly the problem.
Dark. Magic. Influence.
My first challenge for the day is finding that artifact and putting it under lock and key before it kills anybody else.
My second challenge is figuring out how to deal with a bossy frog and a pushy cat.
Which of the two do you suppose will give me the bigger headache?
Yeah. That’s what I think too. The frog and cat are going to be the death of my sanity.
Maybe I should put them under lock and key too.

I like this book as much as I did the first one. It has the same quirkiness and humor, and the characters are all interesting, even the ‘bad guys.’ The story flowed evenly, keeping my interest until the end. I look forward to the next one.

A humourous tale from the very beginning, with a touch of mystery and a dash of adventure. It does reference the first book, which I hadn’t discovered before this installment, but it stands well enough on its own. With well developed characters and a captivating atmosphere. Very enjoyable!

Mr Slimy says – Hop to it and read this…
Fortune Croakies is the second book in the Enchanting Inquiries series. It is a wonderful laugh-out-loud paranormal mystery story. Naida is a great character challenged with finding a dangerous artifact with the so-called help of the delightful Rustin Quilleran a.k.a. Mr. Slimy (the frog), and Mr. Wicked (the cat). I love reading about the different creatures in this magical world.
I cannot wait for Sam Cheever’s next book in this series.

Naida has gotten herself involved in an artifact mystery that could mean dire consequences for her and her companions on every plane. Fortune Croakies is a laugh out loud novel that I highly recommend.

Naida has her hands full in this book. First she gets the order to rescue a magical car, which isn’t too bad. But her friend has told her that all of sudden some one she knows, is acting off. She is thinking it is a magical artifact. Naida said she has not gotten an order for it.
There is to seem to be things at play that Naida can understand. She enlists the help of someone she isn’t to sure she can trust, Madeline Quilleran.
The universe is sent her a massive message that almost too her out, if not for Sebille. Naida and Madeline go to search what this artifact is and who is responsible. It takes them all to get the person responsible, or they think
Naida is going to work with Detective Wise Grym to catch the person responsible, he is a no nonsense guy. She sees a different side to him.
It will take everyone to take down the other person responsible and they will not believe who and what is the cause.
Rustin is still trapped in the frog, her familiar is still growing doing things she can’t believe. I would love for Naida to have a romantic interest that will help move the books as well.
This was a very entertaining book, look forward to see what else Naida and crew are up to in future books
I really enjoyed this book, it made me laugh, awesome characters. The plot is good and keeps you reading until the end.

I love Fortune Croakies! This book is so interesting and engaging. The characters are great. I love Naida. The magical world is so interesting and complex. There are some more magical creatures in this book and I enjoyed learning more about how the magical world worked. The mystery has many twists that kept me guessing until the end. I highly recommend this book series!
