From “the most popular mystery writer alive” (The New York Times), the twenty-seventh entry in the #1 New York Times bestselling series isn’t just the biggest case of Stephanie Plum’s career. It’s the adventure of a lifetime. When Stephanie’s beloved Grandma Mazur’s new husband died on their wedding night, the only thing he left her was a beat-up old easy chair…and the keys to a life-changing … chair…and the keys to a life-changing fortune.
But as Stephanie and Grandma Mazur search for Jimmy Rosolli’s treasure, they discover that they’re not the only ones on the hunt. Two dangerous enemies from the past stand in their way—along with a new adversary who’s even more formidable: Gabriela Rose, a dark-eyed beauty from Little Havana with a taste for designer clothes. She’s also a soldier of fortune, a gourmet cook, an expert in firearms and mixed martial arts—and someone who’s about to give Stephanie a real run for her money.
Stephanie may be in over her head, but she’s got two things that Gabriela doesn’t: an unbreakable bond with her family and a stubborn streak that will never let her quit.
She’ll need both to survive because this search for “fortune and glory” will turn into a desperate race against time with more on the line than ever before. Because even as she searches for the treasure and fights to protect her Grandma Mazur, her own deepest feelings will be tested—as Stephanie could finally be forced to choose between Joe Morelli and Ranger.

Fun, fast-paced romp through Trenton, New Jersey with Stephanie Plum and her band of misfits in search of fortune and glory. Let it be known that this reader cheers for team Ranger.
Loved it! I love ALL of her Stephanie Plum books!!
Love all of Janet Evanovich books.
I always enjoy Janet’s books. I did not this this was quite a good as her earlier books but was still very enjoyable.
Great addition to the Stephanie Plum number series.
I have been reading Stephanie Plum series since One for the Money published. I love the characters and they are always up to some shenanigans. I laugh out loud at their antics. The entire series is very entertaining. Wouldn’t miss a one. P.S. I am rooting for Ranger.
Stephanie Plum books are always original and very creative. It is an easy read and entertaining. The characters are fully developed and you can usually relate them to someone in your own family. I have read all the Stephanie Plum books and look forward to the next one! It is a beach read or sitting in your favorite chair, drinking coffee and relaxing with a fun story.
you cannot go wrong reading a “stephanie plume” book.
Liked that Stephanie appeared to be growing up and ready to behave more as an adult. Did not like the ending. She ends up back where she started. Hated the whole Morelli and Ranger appearing to be friends now. Let this character grow up.
It was okay, but not one of her best.
I was so looking forward to Fortune and Glory by Janet Evanovich, but this one was pretty much a dud for me.
It was so slow, and I found several editing issues throughout the book.
I’ve always been a huge Stephanie Plum fan, but I think this one was the end for me.
Janet’s either lost her passion for writing or her readers.
3 Stars
Seriously how can you not live Stephanie Plum!!! She’s seriously the best train wreck ever! These books are always so amusing with a great mystery. Also the chemistry between her and Moreli and Ranger always make for interesting moments. Exploding cars, crazy mishaps and a Grandma I want to be some day are just icing on the cake. If you want a fun escape with all the goodness of a cozy mystery, the excitement of the mafia and the tickle your funny comedy then this is a series for you! I am always so excited when a née one comes out and this one didn’t disappoint!
I think this book was written simply to introduce readers to a character which will be fronting a new series. However, like everything else in this book, there was potential that never engages the reader.
After all this time Stephanie is still doing the same rookie mistakes, depending on Ranger or Joe to help her out. Lula is still a caricature which has become borderline offensive. The lack of character development after 26 previous books is sad.
The story has the usual varied and failed apprehension cases, featuring typical lose types. The treasure story line was intriguing in the blurb, but wasn’t interestingly developed. I got two minor laughs, more snorts than laughs. I was able to finish the book though.
Glad I got it at the library, because it isn’t worth whatever they’re asking for it.
A little different than normal. A lot of Ranger without a lot of Joe. And an introduction to a new character, Gabriela, who has her own book or possibly books, coming soon.
