The only kinds of luck I knew were bad and worse…until my life hung in the balance. I finally caught a break in the form of a second chance.I vowed not to let it go to waste. To make a difference. But I didn’t start really living until I met him.Dillon Montgomery. My complete opposite—except for our matching tortured souls.I couldn’t resist him for long. How could I when his smallest touch made my … could I when his smallest touch made my heart race?
When it felt like we were destined to be together?
But sometimes luck and sorrow are intertwined…
Fortuity is the first part of Faith and Dillon’s story, which will be completed in Serenity.

What an emotional read!! You’re going to love it! Happy reading xx
I loved this story so much <3 This was such an emotional and beautiful story between Dillon and Faith, who both have been through a lot of heartbreaking moments in their young age...
Faith is a survivor, I admired her character so much. She's strong yet at the same time sometimes vulnerable. She's sweet too with hints of sass mixed with her innocence, which I think all of this drew Dillon to her. He was determined to get to know her and when he realized that she wasn't like other girls, he was determined to make her his 🙂 <3
There are a lot of obstacles that these two will have to overcome... trust me when I say that I can't wait to read Serenity, which is the conclusion to the Fortuity Duet 🙂
I recommend you guys to read this when it comes out in April 24, but I must warn that it has a surprise and devastating twist in the end and that ending is a sort of a cliffhanger for the final book, Serenity; but still you won't regret reading this because it was a beautiful story <3
I give my praises to Rochelle Paige because she did an amazing job writing this story <3 It discusses all about organ transplant and the journey (Faith) has to go through to continue living on with your life as well as giving us glimpses into the process that the organ donor's family has to be feeling too. It's not an easy journey for neither of these two and their families' and I once again say that Rochelle Paige did an awesome job and I can't wait to read Serenity <3 <3
I have heard it said, If it wasn’t for bad luck I’d have no luck at all. That’s how Faiths life is going till it’s not. Second lease on life, an education, paying forward and a man. All is well till Faith decides she needs the answer to a question. Know we come to the buts the if’s and a dreaded cliffhanger. But this story is worth the wait.
Mackenzie & Jason did a fantastic job narrating this story.

Oh this is heartbreaking sad, happy, oh some WoW moments. A book of secrets ,lies, building trust, and a I didnt see that coming moment.. heart wrenching story of how Faith overcomes obstacles as she was growing up. Her mom died of a drug overdose when she was 12. A severe illness while she was in Foster care, almost cost her life. and a miracle gave her a second chance! She made a promise to herself that she would make some good out of her life.
Mackenzie Cartwright and Jason Clarke are excellent storytellers and superb narrators. They emote every Feeling of love, anger, angst, fear, pain, humor and sarcasm of every character in this story. Bringing all the characters to life. Brilliant , I loved listening to it

Fortuity
Fortuity Duet, Book 1
By: Rochelle Paige
Narrated by: Mackenzie Cartwright, Jason Clarke
I wasn’t looking for a book like this. You know the one that pulls you in, and invests your heart. Rochelle Paige has started this duet off, introducing Faith. She has had a tough life, and do to neglect, her health has suffered. Now with the help of a good mentor in the Foster Care placement system, she is in college and ready to start her life. As a freshman, she knew who Dillon was, but now that his mother is helping her with her cause, their paths cross. What is the draw that pulls them together? Their chemistry is palpable. But something is about to happen that will change everything. This story is had me from the start. Faith is a girl that we read about but don’t want to think really exists. Her childhood is horrible! She shows that no matter your circumstance, you can pull yourself up and get yourself together if you align with good people. Dillon is hard to get a hold on. He has a deep hurt that effects everything he does, but there is something about Faith that is helping him heal. It’s a start that has me waiting for book two and left me wondering what is going to happen.
The narration of this book is key. Just the right amount of emotion and compassion needs to flow through this performance and the team pulls it off without a hitch. Mackenzie Cartwright and Jason Clarke tell us this story with ease. They key into Faith and Dillon and find their inner emotions, giving them to us and making us feel. An amazing performance and look forward to book two of this duet.

Fortuity
Fortuity Duet, Book 1
By: Rochelle Paige
Narrated by: Mackenzie Cartwright, Jason Clarke
I am new to Rochelle Paige’s books and consider me wowed. I loved everything about this book, from how well it is written to the wonderful storylines and characters Rochelle Paige created. This book captured both my attention and my heart right from the start and held it straight to the end. The characters are complex and well developed, they are likable and easy to relate to. Faith never had an easy life, raised by a single Mom who couldn’t care less about her, at twelve she was placed in foster care without the luck of being placed in a loving home. She learned to get by on her own without the love and the care, she even turned out to be a remarkable young lady. When she falls ill and the foster parent neglected to get her medical treatment she reached out to her case worker for help. She took her to the doctor and they learn how sick she is. Hospitalized with kidney failure she catches the heart of the staff and they are all rooting for her. When she gets back on her feet she gets placed in a loving home and has a brighter look on life. She gets into college, volunteers to help other foster kids get on track for their futures too. She catches the eye of a philanthropist who wants to help her cause and give funds to the foster kids to help pay expenses. Which is how she winds up meeting Dillon, Dillon is a bit lost in life and his mother thinks it would do him good to spend some of his time doing charitable work with Faith. I loved these two together, they are great together and for each other. This story mesmerized me, it is plotted out nicely and there is never a dull moment with plenty of drama, emotional and heartfelt moments. I am loving Faith and Dillon’s love story, it has fallen into a woven web of twists and turns, I am looking forward to see what happens next in the second part of the duet. Rochelle Paige, thank you for this wonderful story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
I listened to the Audible edition, Mackenzie Cartwright and Jason Clarke are fantastic narrators and voice artists. They did an amazing job portraying the characters, bringing them to life, giving each their own voice and personality. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they capture and project the characters emotions into their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen

Oh my goodness! Fortuity is beyond beautiful in its writing its ability to capture the reader from the very first page and have them so emotionally invested Faith’s story that you can’t feeling every since emotion that she feels. The emotional connection I had with Faith shook me up while it also filled me with happiness, joy, hope, and love. Faith’s story will have you in tears, but it will lift you up so high that you will be crying tears of happiness.
But when Faith meets Dillon I melted into a puddle of goo. Dillon is amazing. He treats Faith like a queen without shoving his money in her face. He is so supportive and caring. I love how his parents have adopted her into the family and love her just as much as their son does. I want to squeal with joy just thinking about their romance. Faith deserves Dillon and so much more. The type of her person that is is truly beautiful to read about.
Fortuity blew me away. This was the first book I’ve ever read by Rochelle Paige and she totally killed it with this story. The writing is beautiful. You will breeze through this book in no time because it that addictive and hard to put down. It is a definitely must read.
This book has all the feels! I loved the characters and was actively rooting for them to get their happily ever after!
Fortuity by Rochelle Paige is a new adult contemporary romance told in dual points of view and part one of a duet.
What I liked: Faith (the heroine), Dillon (the hero), and the overall concept for the story.
What I didn’t like: too predictable, no story arc, no conflict and/or resolution, the length.
Fortuity seemed to have all the ingredients for what could be an emotionally moving tale, but it ultimately failed to deliver. I really wanted to love it, but for me, it fell flat. As much as I liked the characters, I had difficulty truly connecting with them. This may be due to the lack of story arc.
Nothing really happens aside from Faith and Dillon meeting and falling in love. They have no obstacles to overcome to make me really dig in, get attached, and invest in what happens. On the last few pages, a conflict is finally introduced – a predictable one that I’d been anticipating the entire time. And that’s where it ends.
I hesitate to call this a book, because there was no story between its pages, merely an introduction to the story in the following book.
When I read a duet, I expect a cliffhanger; but at the same time, I also expect a somewhat complete story. There should be some kind of obstacle that has been overcome while others remain unresolved. Another issue I had was the length – it was very short. There was no reason to split the content in half as both parts combined make up a standard full-length novel.
What a great read.
What a journey the author takes you on, from Faith’s early life, through the unfortunate events that put her in hospital, to getting her second chance at life.
While living her life and trying to honor the donor who gave her that chance, she meets Dillon and feels an instant connection with him.
Faith’s arrival into Dillon’s life comes at the perfect time to help him deal with some issues he is struggling with.
I loved these two, and I can’t wait for Serenity, the conclusion of these two’s story.
Holy Fucking Shit what a Book, What a Story….
I’m reeling from how fantastic this story is.
Rochelle Paige Holy Mother Of God WHAT THE HELL DID YOU JUST DO…. OMFG
Ok ladies grab this book go in blind and I promise you that you will be I see of this absolutely mesmerising, Beautifully Written Story.
Fortuity starts of with you being gripped by the heart. It’s so gut wrenchingly. Watching everything Faith has to endure since she was born. Watching her being thrown, hurt, neglected and unloved, you would what the hell is going on. Why does such an innocent girl have to go through so much.
Then she meets this amazing, So Amazing Hero. Dillon has his own demons he is battling and needs Gambling as a Crutch.
Though when these two meet its an instant connection. Their chemistry and pull towards each other is thick and undeniable. They burn hot and sexy. You will think Finally fucking Finally Our Girl gets some happiness and Goodness in her life ….
But Life and destiny can be such a Bitch sometimes. It leaks in and poisons everything. My heart is left in my palm by this Cliffhanger. It was such an amazing one and I didn’t see that coming. Now I need the second book SOOOO desperately.
Dillon’s mum BTW is freaking awesome. I love his parents.
Go grab this book ladies.
ENJOY!!!!
Part one of a duet, this is a fantastic story full of Faith and hope. 🙂
~5 ++ STARS~
Fortuity by Rochelle Paige is an absolutely stunning, beautiful, and emotional read. It is a top read of 2018 for me!
Take my advice, grab the tissues early, like the very first chapter. Faith is one of those rare, special characters that I will never forget. She really shouldn’t be here, but she is a survivor. She grew up with a drug addicted mother, finding her overdosed at the age of 12. This is where Rochelle Paige shines. Faith was much better off without her mother, but Paige helped me understand why Faith missed her. She was used to what she was living in, and she was scared and unsure of what life would hold for her now. As it turns out, she will be in danger again. Her foster mother didn’t much care for her and allowed a simple, curable illness almost take Faith’s life. Faith is looking death right in the face when she gets a miracle…the kidney she needs to live. Instead of becoming bitter or descending into a dark hole of depression, she works hard, gets good grades, and makes it into college. She doesn’t stop there. She works tirelessly helping other foster kids go to college as well. This is when she meets Elaine Montgomery, a woman that will completely change the course of Faith’s life.
Elaine is Dillion’s mother. Dillion is dealing with loss and pain too, but he deals with it by gambling. Some of the book is told from his POV, but most of it is from Faith’s perspective. Dillion really is a good guy, and it doesn’t take him long to appreciate and fall for Faith. Faith falls pretty quickly for Dillion as well.
There are so many emotions that Paige will draw out of you…sadness, fear, joy, and she will also shock you. There is a twist, and Faith will be challenged yet again. I can’t say enough about how wonderful this book is. It involves real life issues, and it is also a love story written in the stars!
***READ AND REVIEWED FOR DEVILISHLY DELICIOUS BOOK REVIEWS***
** Note: I received a complimentary copy from the author in exchange for an honest review. **
I had read a note by the author pertaining to this book and why she wrote about a transplant recipient heroine. That note alone was the reason I initially wanted to read this story.
The Prologue drew me in even though it had nothing to do with the transplant aspect. Then I got to Chapter 1 and about halfway through, the words hit me. The words took me back to a place I just was a year and a half ago with my own child. After that chapter I had to sit and wait/reflect on my own life before moving on. The same with Chapter 2 only that chapter is still a dream in my reality. After I got past chapter 2, the story drew me in further.
I love Faith and Dillon’s love story. They are two people who came from different childhoods but drawn together by their separate traumas. There is a cliffhanger to lead into the second book. I guessed what ended up as the cliffhanger earlier in the book, but it doesn’t change the cliffhanger value at all. I can’t wait for the second part of this duet to come out so I can see how the cliffhanger plays out.
Beautiful is what this book is, absolutely beautiful. It was so, so damn good that I think it deserves so many, many stars. All the feels. I am so glad that Rochelle Paige wrote this book. I have always been a huge fan of hers, but this book was just everything. My absolute favorite book of hers, such a treat to get to read. These two needed each other in a way that very few people could possibly understand and their love was like reading two souls joining together, it really was beautiful.
Faith’s mom was a young single mother, that really didn’t want to be a mother. When Faith was young her mom would leave her alone all the time, staying out late and then she ended up over dosing when Faith was 12. That put Faith into foster care. When Faith was a senior, she got really sick, but her foster mom didn’t like her so she didn’t take her to the doctor. By the time the other kids got sick too, Faith had already had strep for awhile. Strep is a very, very serious illness, when left untreated it causes grave damage to the body. Faith ended up having kidney failure and getting on a transplant list. She ends up receiving a kidney and by all miracles, surviving. She makes it her mission to get amazing grades and finds out that she can go to college with assistance for being a foster child. After she’s in college, she goes to other high schools and speaks to foster kids to give them a chance at college too. Help them try and get a head in life. She is such an amazing woman.
Then enters Dillon’s mom Elaine and then Dillon. Elaine reads an article about, Faith that the school did. Elaine ends up raising funds for the kids in college for additional living expenses. Dillon had been dealing with his own issues and spiraling out of control a bit, until his mom sends him to help Faith. These two were fairly inseparable after meeting.
This book takes you through many emotions and very real life altering events. It takes you through young love that is so pure and all consuming, it will make your heart happy just reading it. It was a safe read, no om or ow drama, it does stop on a cliff hanger, so my only question is “Is it May 8th yet?”…because I need the next book like nowish Rochelle Paige. I also wanted to thank Rochelle Paige for writing this book. When I was a young mother my daughter got strep all the time and it always scared me so much, because I had heard a story just like this one, except that little girl developed a heart condition and didn’t make it past 18. That story stuck with me and so will this story, even now I tear up just thinking about it. It breaks my heart. So thank you again Rochelle Paige for writing this beautiful book.
This book touched my heart on so many levels and brought awareness of my heart to the others.
I was crying by the second chapter, at regular intervals throughout the rest of the book and the end simply made me sob. It was an amazing story.
Faith’s life was in so many ways like my youth.
This book is filled with so much paying forward and young love awakening. i simply could not put this book down once I started reading.
I only know that as Rochelle end this book that I’m left wondering if Faith is thinking way off base as to the reaction of her discovery.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book that I won in a contest and highly recommend it. I only hope my review has done it justice.
Her life had been a struggle and now after surviving major surgery and the foster care system life is finally turning around. Faith’s struggles after living with a drug addicted mother is a journey of achievements. I love her strong and independent nature that keeps her moving forward in the midst of life when others would have given up. How can it be wrong when it leads her to Dillon who is dealing with his own skeletons. There are so many hidden things reveled during the story it is riveting and emotional and a beautiful read. There is so much about this to share but I don’t do spoilers.
This is my first opportunity to read this author and I really enjoy her style and the story. I can’t wait to read the second part and see what she will do to us next.
Fortuity is an amazing read. It’s a heart string pulling, emotional read. Dillon and Faith are great characters that have gone through some tough times. At points I wanted to just crawl into the pages and give them a hug. Faith had a rough childhood and bad luck seemed to always find her. She is college now and things are looking up. She meets Dillon. Dillon had a much different childhood then Faith. He does have some demons to beat too though. These to have great chemistry. Their relationship starts slow and builds from there. This is part one of part two so of course there was a cliffhanger. Sometimes I dread cliffhanger but loved this one, it left me with questions and waiting for the next one.
5 ‘Fortuitous LOVE’ Stars
All the feels! All the stars! All the Faith, Hope and LOVE!
Fortuity is an amazingly emotional and heartfelt journey! We could truly feel how close to Rochelle Paige’s heart this story is, considering the depth of Faith’s character. This is her story, from the horrible past, her journey and her discovery that Fate really works in the most complex and Fortuitous of ways, specially when it comes to Love (every single type in the spectrum)!
And there enters Dillon, our dreamy and swoon-worthy hero! With plenty of scars of his own, serendipity couldn’t have paired a better pair of tortured and hurt souls. The perfect matching to heal all the pieces of their damaged hearts!
Fortuity truly was the perfect title for this beautiful story, and with that cliffy – fear not, it’s absolutely a bearable one! – curveball ending, I’m dying to get my hands on Serenity, coming out just two weeks after this one, May 8th! Can’t wait to see Faith and Dillon get their much deserved HEA!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
