Leila
I thought when a divorce happens, things are over. That apparently isn’t the case, at least not with my ex-husband.
All I’ve ever wanted was to start over with my bakery business with the money my beloved grandmother left me, but now my ex thinks he has a claim to that money. So, I escape the city and him after a horrible fight and flee to the mountains.
Through the heavy rain, the blurry neon lights of a bar are my beacon of hope…and the mountain man inside just might be my safe place.
Forrest: Hawk Valley Mountain Men is an insta-love, happily-ever-after, STEAMY romance. No cliffhangers, no cheating. This is a standalone story part of the HAWK VALLEY MOUNTAIN MEN series.

Auntie M’s Babycakes & Brews
Forrest is the third book in the Hawk Valley Mountain Men series and after reading about this handsome, large, muscular, and sexy man all I can say is I want to take a trip to Hawk Valley. Forrest Thornton owns and runs the local garage and the Hawk’s Nest bar, where he brews his own beer. One night when he is just closing up and about to lock the door a young woman bursts in. She is standing there soaking wet and more than a little lost. Leila Grift has unexpectedly taken a road trip as a way to get away from her abusive and overbearing ex-husband. She lost her favorite aunt a few months ago and somehow her ex found out that she was left some money in the will. He is now demanding half of it but she has had enough and decides to use her knee on him when he grabs her as she is walking away. She just gets into her car and starts driving to clear her head and ends up in Hawk’s Valley because this was a place her aunt loved and they would come out to hike the mountain together every month.
It is a case of instant attraction for Forrest when he sees the beautiful and curvy drowned rat standing in his bar getting his floor wet. He realizes that she needs some TLC and decides to get her a coffee and a sandwich to go and call the B&B for a room.
Thus starts their very sweet romance as Leila decides to take a few days break from the reality of her life and is surrounded by warm and caring people who help her to heal her broken heart and also gather the strength to deal with her ex, who is not letting her go so easily when there is money involved that he needs to pay off gambling debts. He is manipulative but with Forrest’s support she is able to fight back both mentally, physically and with law enforcement.
Once again Mazzy King has produced a wonderfully written and sweet, but also dirty, short story. The story-line has drama, mystery, heartbreak, hope, love, romance and some major chemistry. The characters are really well developed and realistic. This is another winner by this author and a definite recommended must read!!!
This is great book that takes about 30 minutes to read perfect for those times when you want something fast and fun I enjoyed it so much that I went and bought Clay and Asher the first two books in the series
Forrest has two great loves in his life beer and cars so it is no wonder that he owns the garage and the bar in Hawk Valley he fled to the mountains looking for peace and comfort and that is what he found Until one evening just as he was cleaning the bar after close a stunning woman rushed in needing help she is on the run from her ex husband a ex that wants the money she has recently inherited after the death of a favourite aunt With all of this drama she just wanted some peace so she has headed to the mountains where she hiked with her aunt but a storm has caused her to get lost. What she actually finds is a man that could be the thing that gives her peace for the rest of her life and that would be a good thing because Forrest has decided that she is his and he is never letting her go.
Loved this story. Quick read. Leila has just lost a loved one and was tired of her ex-husband bothering her and she finally reached her limit, she runs to get some time to herself. She goes to where her aunt loved to go and she meets Forrest. Loved them together as a couple. They were so good. Great chemistry. That epilogue was everything.

I really enjoyed this story. Leila, is a baker and she is having problems with her ex husband. She decides to take a drive and ends up in the mountain town of Hawke Valley. It is late – dark, raining, only one place open. She goes in and it’s a bar owned by Forrest. Forest owns his own business. – brews beer and runs a garage. He moved to get away from the rat race in the city and find peace. Forrest takes a liking to Leila. Leila spends the next day with Forrest baking pies for his bar and they talk about their lives. Forest and Leila enjoy each other’s company. Their is a sparkle in their eyes and warmth in their hearts. There are some definite stumbling blocks along the way. A sweet, feel good romance. This is just a really enjoyable read.

Forrest owner and operator of the local garage and also the local bar.
Leila a baker with a ex husband who just wants her money she just inherited from her aunt.
Leila retreats to the mountains upset, tired and worried she stumbles into Forrest bar after closing. Of course their attraction is undeniable but they are both weary for different reasons but the same.
They get along gewat, her baking brings naughtiness into their lives. But before they can explore their relationship status her ex strikes back thinking he can intimate her into getting her money. But what he ultimately does is make Leila and Forrest realize their connection is stronger then a busted up bar and a few abrasive words, oh yeah Forrest has an Ex Seal for a buddy and he brought a gun too. Read how Forrest and Leila combine their dreams into a family business.
HAWK VALLEY’S population just went up one resident.

An absolutely fantastic fast pace engaging page turner that will draw you in from the first page and hold you captivated until the end! It is well written, emotionally deep, witty, funny, and quite enjoyable. Likeable characters; the chemistry between them is amazing and instant. A recommended read!

4 1/2 Stars!!
I liked Forrest and the way his POV was written. Not the typical rough alpha mountain man usually depicted in these instalove romances. He had a bit of depth to him along with a sweetness that was so well written into his character.
Everything was written in such a feel good way that I found myself smiling wishing this was a bit longer. But truly, it was just right.
Just enough drama that kept me interested, a whole lot of sweet romance between this worthy couple, with Leila’s baking skills added as another sweet treat in this “got to read again” romance!

Another Hawk Valley Mountain Man story sure to get your heart racing, your mind going and you legs twitching. Leila is in need of a break, a chance to reset, over a now long weekend, thanks to her disastrous day at work. She heads out of the city, Hawk City, to head to the mountains where the small town of Hawk Valley is. Under so great circumstances she meets Forrest, the bar owner and garage guy in town. There is an instant attraction between these two but Leila comes with more baggage than the one holding her clothes. Can these two move forward as Leila’s past does not want to let her go? A great quick read full of details and twists to keep you turning these great pages. Fills up a lunch break perfectly and will leave you with a smile and bounce in your step to get through the afternoon. Enjoy!

But her ex is about to make another entry into her life and this time it could be detrimental. Will Forrest be able to keep her safe? I never considered myself a lover of Insta-Love stories but Mazzy King has officially won me over! This story, like all her others features an amazing/unique heroine and a swoon-worthy male that helps the heroine grow.
Leila has a horrible ex-husband that recently found out she inherited money from her late aunt and he feels that he should get half of those funds. When he refuses to leave she does the only thing she can think of, kicks him in the nuts and drives away to the last place she felt happy. By the time she gets to Hawk Valley the rain is so bad she can hardly see what building she runs into but she knows she needs a place to stay and something to eat. When she runs into the building she realizes its the local bar and the man behind the bar instantly captures her attention. Forrest was already done closing the bar down and enjoying an after shift drink, he thought he had locked everything up tight but when a soaking wet Leila busts in through the door he won’t turn her away. They both feel draw to each other but she can’t help but be beat down from how bad her ex treated her and Forest can’t help but want to make her realize how amazing she is.
Leila should have been a broken woman when you think about it, her ex was terrible and wanted money from her that he wasn’t entitled to, her aunt had just died, her mother was not dealing well with it and she had a terrible first day back at work but instead of crumbling she fought back. She kicked her ex and she ran away even though he was threatening her and trying to tear her down. Y’all I want a Forrest of my own!! He was so tender and sweet but yet pure male and his instant protectiveness over Leila was so swoon-worthy!! I loved that he never questioned her decisions but reassured her that nothing had to happen. There is so much I want to say but I really can’t cause it would just ruin all the fun of the story… let’s just say if I ran into his bar I would never leave!
As always, I highly recommend this book and this author

Great plot for this novella, Leila trying to escape an abusive ex only to get help from Forrest and the locals. Really enjoyed how the characters had such an instantaneous attraction to each other and interest in one another’s goals. Lovely epilogue with a surprise for both of them.

This book was awesome! I loved Leila and Forrest. Gary was such a jerk (censoring for you, Amazon!). I am so happy things worked out so well in the end. It was very well written, and I will be checking out Mazzy’s other books.

A wonderful short story about a curvy woman finding real love with her mountain man. Leila has gone through a lot with her favorite aunt’s passing and a lowlife ex husband harassing her. She flees to the mountains where she knows she will find her calming place. There she meets Forrest…her salvation. Its an instant attraction and their budding romance is sweet. Love how it all ends.

I liked this story a lot. Most of the characters are great and easy to relate to. Leila amazed me with how she stood up for herself.
Forrest runs a garage and the Hawk’s Nest bar. He has two loves, beer and cars. Forrest feels peace in the mountains and he’s happy with the way things are. When a woman comes into his bar, soaking wet on a rainy night he’s surprised. Leila is the most beautiful, curvy woman and everything Forrest thought he wanted changes immediately.
Leila has an ex-husband that has decided that she still owes him. After her aunt dies and leaves her money to open her own bakery, her ex tries to claim the money. Leila runs from him and goes to the mountains where she used to hike with her aunt. With the heavy rain from the storm, she tries to find the inn but ends up in the bar. The barkeep is a mountain of a man and he is exactly what she needs.
There are themes of domestic and verbal abuse that were difficult for me. Please be aware in case these are issues for you. The angst and drama are resolved in the best way. The way that Forrest was floored when he met Leila was so sweet. Forrest and Leila were so supportive of each other. I loved their happy ever after. I recommend reading this book.

When Leila bursts into Forrest’s bar as he is finishing cleaning up for the night he can’t help but be captivated by her. She looks beautiful but miserable and lost. Will the instant pull they ha e be what’s been missing in their lives? Can a chance meeting, a moment in time and a little trouble be enough to let love help them move on?
