I am so sad this is the last of the Paradise Valley series. I have enjoyed each one tremendously and so wish I could visit!( yes I know it is fictional but what a great place and people! Then can run over to Cutter’s Creek!) Vivi Holt has brought this place alive with her insightful descriptions and dialogue, it has felt like a real place.
This is Hank, or Oster, as he is called a lot and Angela’s story. Hank is now a deputy sheriff in Bozeman and after a vicious gang of cattle rustlers. When he is on the trail, he finds an old cabin, thinking abandoned, but finds a young woman, large with child, alone and not knowing who she is due to a bad bump on the head.
It takes a winding journey and deciphering clues plus a growing love that cannot be denied. What is amazing is the visit with other’s on the ranch and resolving another story, all that tug at the heartstrings as you listen to the wonderful narration of Amanda Stribling as she brings the words of Vivi alive…
Forgotten Trails
Paradise Valley, Book 5
By: Vivi Holt
Narrated by: Amanda Stribling
When Angela arrives in town, pregnant and no recollection of who she is, Ost takes her in and has that feeling that she is the one. But with her past unknown, and a possible husband coming to find her, things move slow. The question is, why can’t she remember? Vivi Holt once again has woven a beautiful story to get lost in as the 5th and final book of the Paradise Valley. Ost is a wonderful character. He is loving, attentive and protective. Angela is vulnerable and brave. They have a great chemistry and I love how Angela blooms under the people of Paradise Valley. The story also includes some issues of the times, taking on the women’s right to vote as well as the search for cattle rustlers. There is also the threat of Sarah’s past coming to harm her family and gives us that peek into Cutter’s Creek! It’s a fun and heartwarming story and a wonderful way to end the series.
Amanda Stribling has this historical western romance genre mastered and she gives an amazing performance. I love the twang she gives the men, the gruffness to the evil rustlers and both strength and innocence to the women. She nails the story and I could not have enjoyed her portrayal more.

I purchased all the books in the Paradise Valley Complete Boxset books 1-5 by ViVi Hilt and this review was given freely.
Multicultural sweet romances, with some ready made families, set in the old west punctuated by daily life, events surrounding the people of Paradise Ranch, current events of the nation, lots of violence, and a hint of humor.
When Hank was looking for cattle rustlers he found Angela in a cabin. She was scared, pregnant and had lost her memory. He brings het to his ‘family’. Then he discoveres that there’s a connection between Angela and one of the rustlers. Can there still be an happy ending?
This was a fun conclusion of this series I really enjoyed. Always happy to read stories by this author.
