This book was very exciting and had me hooked right from the start.
An unbelievable assassination order and an enticing girl are a big concern that needs to be dealt with.
This is a very complex and intriguing story that had me turning the pages at a fast rate to discover what happens next.
All of the characters come together again along with a few new folks to finish off this set of stories.
A terrific series from E. Rose.
Morag was the hear all – tell all gossip. When she is taken back to her family, in Scotland, she doesn’t think she will ever get back to the secret garden.
When the Earl that sponsored the 4 girls is killed in battle for the king, the king is going to require Lady Ernestine to choose the next earl to take over the castle and all their riches.
Sir Bedivere is an assassin to kill traitors against King Richard. He accepted the assignments to free his family from the dungeon of Whitmore, the king’s assistant.
Will Morag ever learn to keep gossip to herself or will it be the end of her?
This was a slow start but had a very emotional ending for me. Morag learned to follow her heart, believe in herself, and have self control. Bedivere realized that someone would love him despite his past and that he was not as dead inside as he thought. I have enjoyed this series and this ending.
I received an ARC, and this is my unsolicited review.
Another great addition to the Secrets of the Heart series that brings the story of Morag and Sir Bedivere. Morag only wants to be like her sisters and cousins and become a true member of the Followers of the Secret Heart. Her problem is she has not been able to keep a secret and that is crucial to belong. When an opportunity arises for her to be tutored to become part, she meets Sir Bedivere and everything pulls apart.
Sir Bedivere, has a secret that he holds tight and he must carry out his last mission which involved Morag. Yes, I know, this cannot be good!!! It is a quandary these two must face to see what will be the outcome!
Elizabeth Rose always writes a story that pulls you in and is filled with suspense, a little magic and of course decisions to be made if these two hope to be together!!
Younger than her sister and cousins, Morag has always been the tag-a-long, feeling left out and overlooked. Her reputation as a gossip contributed to that as she couldn’t be trusted not to blurt out others secrets. Now she is the only unmarried one of the girls and longs to be a true Follower of the Secret Heart but Imanie who mentored the other girls is now dead. Then she meets Mazelina who agrees to mentor her on condition that she tells no one about their bargain. Nothing could be harder than for Morag to hold her tongue, so this one command goes a long way towards maturing her, however she has yet to realise that gossip can, rather than revealing secrets, be untrue. When she sets her sights on marrying the wealthy Sir Bedivere she has no idea that he has no more than a change of clothes to his name and that he started the rumour about himself; nor does she know his current profession and target.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Morag always felt left out especially since her sister and cousins were chosen to be apart of the Secrets Of The Hearts.
Morag becomes an honorary member. Since all her cousins and her sister have found love and married, she realizes that she wants that also. She goes back to where she was fostered, hoping to find a husband. This is where she meets Bedivere, but does not know about his murderous past. Bedivere is hoping that this will be his last mission until he finds out that he has been assigned to kill the legendary Bastard triplets. Will he follow his heart or complete his final mission.
Great story, good characters, and the suspense kept me eagerly reading to find out what happened next. Morag finally comes out from under the shadow of her sister and cousins. Good ending to the series. I received an ARC of this book.
I received this advanced copy of Forgotten Secrets for an honest review. I loved Bedivere and Morag’s story the most because she. Of all I felt, had to deal with living down a reputation that she couldn’t refute, her wagging tongue. It was a relief to discover that even that could be used for noble purposes. I felt for Morag in her belief that compared to her sisters and cousins, was relegated to the fringes of everyone’s life and felt abandoned. I even learned something from her: That you can’t let the opinions of others define you. Everyone has a purpose for the things they do as in Bevidere’s case. He was forced into the life he led. But, I also believe he could have taken charge of his life and ended the threat to his family medefined he had taken a leap of faith and trusted someone. If you’re looking for a book with a lot of action and intrigue, this is the book for you. I loved the entire series starting with The Legendary Bastards of the Crown right down to Secrets of the Heart. Both series will leave you wanting more.
This is the 4th book in the Secrets of the heart series. Morag, the youngest of the group had captured my interest from book 1 and she didn’t disappoint. This is my favourite of the series. Even though Morag always acted like a spoilt brat and I don’t like spoilt brats, there was just something about her that caught your attention. Ms Rose shows her skill in how Morag grew up and learned to take responsibility for her actions and learned how to trust. I was delighted that she found her love with Bedivere, a very misunderstood and desperate man. The story flowed beautifully and kept you interested and turning the page. There is a sex scene but this reviewer skipped it and it didn’t affect my enjoyment of the book. I received this book as an ARC and freely reviewed.
Morag Douglas is determined to curb her gossip, discover her special skill (if she has one), and prove she is worthy of being included as a Follower of the Secret Heart. Sir Bedivere Hamilton wants to complete his last mission as an assassin and free his family, but all may not be as it seems in this mission. They are wary of each other at first, but they fall in love, and when they do, things get complicated. This is an action-packed story with unforgettable characters and filled with intrigue, danger, betrayal, twists, turns, surprises, family, friends (including a couple of ghostly sisters), and enemies. I enjoyed Morag’s story. Kevin E. Green’s narration brought the story to life. I especially like his portrayal of the many times grumpy Reed and Branton’s innocent screw-ups. The Secrets of the Heart series is part of an awesome and engaging family saga that includes The Legendary Bastards of the Crown and Seasons of Fortitude. I highly recommend all three series.
Love this book! Morag Douglas desperately wants to be accepted like her friends and cousins, but she is a notorious gossip and carries tales regardless of their truth. She also wants to become a member of a secret group that her cousins belong to, Followers of the Secret Heart.
She is granted the opportunity to visit England and Rothbury Castle, where the recently widowed lady of the castle will hold competitions for the opportunity to become the newest owner of the castle. Sir Bedivere, who has some very dark secrets, arrives at the castle but not to compete. He has a much more dangerous mission to complete.
Morag visits the hidden glen where the Followers would meet, until the death of their mentor brought things to an end. However, Morag ends up meeting a very mysterious woman who will help her along her journey toward self-discovery and self-improvement. Morag and Sir Bedivere are thrown into mayhem along their journey toward love.
Best Elizabeth Rose series yet! Forgotten Secrets is the 4th book in the Secrets of the Heart Series and what a series it has been. I am in awe at this creative and amazing story Elizabeth has created and there is nothing out there even close to what this story and what it is about that I have read, it is that original. Though there are a lot of main characters in the book I never get confused as who is who, she write them so clear and easily followed. This story has an assassin, misunderstandings, gifts, a bit of paranormal, evil, greed, treason, mistakes, protectiveness, feeling alone, a father’s love, death, murder, schemes, secrets passages, a loving family, training, imprisonment, rescue and love. Though you can read this story as a standalone I highly recommend you read this whole Secrets of the Heart series. It is truly a wonderful and amazing read.
***This book was gifted to me and I am voluntarily reviewing.
Another great series. Morag finally gets her turn. She always has felt she was the left out one, getting attention by gossiping. Now that she is ready to look for a husband and after a mysterious meeting in the secret garden, she is urged to not gossip. It is hard but necessary. She fall in love with assassin Bevidere not knowing his secrets. This story was full of surprises and the least likely person becomes a hero. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.
