She’s the one who got away. He’s the boy she can’t forget… CherylThey say you never forget your first love, but I’m determined to prove Keven Kennedy is just a random boy from my past. It’s not like I still think about him after all this time. Or daydream about how hot his kisses were and what it felt like to have his hands on my skin.Nope, that’s not me. I’m in a happy place in my life. Engaged … skin.
Nope, that’s not me. I’m in a happy place in my life. Engaged to a great man and finishing the last year of my photography degree.
But since I returned to Massachusetts, everything reminds me of the boy who ripped my heart to shreds. Especially when my fiancé’s constant business trips, and dwindling attention, raises old fears to the surface.
And then the unthinkable happens—Keven saunters back into my life, turning it upside down once more.
It’s ironic he thinks he’s protecting me when the only one I need protecting from is him.
Keven
They say you never forget your first love. In my case, it’s true. Most everyone in high school thought Cheryl and I were a match made in heaven and that nothing could tear us apart. Until I messed up spectacularly and lost the best thing to ever happen to me.
Years have passed, girls have come and gone, but no one has laid claim to my heart in the way Cheryl did.
I thought she was lost to me forever when an unexpected encounter with an uptight FBI agent, and an intriguing proposition, brings the beautiful blonde back into my life.
I didn’t hesitate to sign on the dotted line.
I let Cheryl down once before. I’m not going to fail her this time.
Forgiving Keven is a STANDALONE new adult romance in the Kennedy Boys world. No cliff-hanger, no cheating, and a guaranteed HEA.more
A love like no other….until the unforgivable betrayal in senior high.
Cheryl was lose in a dream world trusting in a love that was leading to heart break. Now Keven is back, but they are not in high school and she have a great guy…right
Keven will never forget his first love and years later he still think of her. He get one more chance to prove his love and trust to Cheryl.
Once again Siobhan delivers a great plot I just love her stories!!!
I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book.
Since I’m a HUGE fan of the brilliant Siobhan Davis, I’m not surprised that she’s written another epic story, but I’m stating it for any who hasn’t discovered that fact for themselves yet. Forgiving Keven has everything in it to make it the perfect read. See, Keven had it all at one point, a great childhood, and that once in a lifetime love with Cheryl, until some news sent him spiraling him into some very bad choices that had him losing that love, and almost losing everything else. Now, some years later, he’s been given a second chance to get back on track by working for the FBI, which brings Cheryl back into his life, and maybe just maybe, he gets her to forgive him. Cheryl has a great life now, a wonderful finance, and just about finished with her photography degree when Keven comes roaring back into her life to throw it back into chaos. Now her emotions are out of whack, because though her broke her heart, she never got over him, and it doesn’t help that he’s back when that wonderful fiance is gone all the time while being secretive, which is raising all kinds of red flags. So yeah, this story is off the charts suspenseful, and kept me on the edge of my seat. There were twists upon twists, which had my colorful metaphors upon f-bombs dropping. Obviously the chemistry was thick, while emotions tried to choke me because of their past, and knowing that they belonged together but how hard it would be to forgive him. And the cast of secondaries kept my suspicious nature tripping as they made up the good, his family, the bad, and I do mean some bad people, and the very ugly, they needed to go down. So basically, if you want to see how all of this pans out, if Cheryl forgives Keven, you need to read this story that I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
With her Kennedy Boys series, Siobhan Davis has crafted an engaging group of friends and family, each more interesting and worthy of a happy ending than the last. Forgiving Keven is a suspenseful new entry in the series, this time following Keven Kennedy – the resident computer wiz of the brothers.
Keven and Cheryl were high school sweethearts before his life spun out of control and he made a terrible mistake that cost him THE girl. Now that his computer skills have landed him a job in the FBI and he’s found a way to insinuate himself back into her life he’ll fight for her no matter the cost.
It’s hard to forget your first love, but Cheryl Keeland has done everything in her power to put Keven squarely in the past. She’s about to finish her degree and is engaged to a seemingly perfect man who Keven is investigating. It’s hard to ignore the attraction that never faded when Keven is back in her life though, especially now that his matured into a very expressive and honest man.
Davis pushes these characters into predicaments that inspire connection and brings their chemistry to a boil. Continuing the dark and gritty backstory from the previous book, I found myself glued to Keven and Cheryl’s suspenseful story in which all the Kennedys and their extended family are back supporting Keven and with important happenings of their own.
Forgiving Keven is book #7 of the Kennedy Boys series by Siobhan Davis. It is standalone contemporary romance told by both points of view with a happy ending. It has mature content (language, sexual situations).
Forgiving Keven is the seventh book in the totally addictive Kennedy Boys series by Siobhan Davis. Each book can be read as standalone but I do recommend reading the series. It’s one of my favorites! The drama. The family. The heat. The emotion. The twists. It has it all. I have been following the series from the beginning and have loved every book.
Keven Kennedy is in deep shit. So deep that the FBI have him by the balls. But when he finds out what they need from him, he signs on the dotted line. He would do anything to see his high school sweetheart again even if it’s just to protect her. He knew she wouldn’t be happy to see him after years apart. He broke her heart their senior year of high school but he is determined to keep her safe. Even for herself.
Cheryl can’t believe he is here. Keven. Her first love. The one she wishes she could forget. They were supposed to have it all. Married with two-point-five kids and loving each other until the end of time. That was until he broke her heart. Now, years later she was engaged to a wonderful man who has his own law practice. A man who would give her anything. She was happy. So she thought…
I don’t want to spoil anything so I will leave it at that. But, I will say how much I loved Keven and Cheryl’s story. I had been waiting for it and it was so worth the wait. It’s full of suspense, heat, emotions, and twists. Siobhan is a Queen when it comes to the twists. It was awesome catching up with the Kennedy Boys and their ladies. They all kick ass and I can’t wait to see them again in the next book!
Quotes:
Looking into his pale blue eyes is like traveling back in time. To a moment when he was my everything and I believed I was that to him too.
“I could kiss you right now, and you’d let me,” he whispers. I clamp my lips tight, to hold back my moan. “But I won’t do that to you.”
“Wow, I didn’t think it was possible, but your ego is even bigger than it was back in high school.”
I voluntarily reviewed this book for an advanced copy.
I just love the Kennedy boys!!! I’ve waiting for Keven’s book and it didn’t disappoint. Even though this is a standalone, I would recommend reading the other books in the series to get the full understanding of all the characters and the story.
Keven and Cheryl dated in high school until Keven made a mistake and lost the love of his life. Now she is engaged to someone else and Keven takes a job to protect her and try to get her back. Lots of intensity and emotions all over. Twists and turns and sexy times. Keven and Cheryl were amazing characters. I just love this series!!
Forgiving Keven by Siobhan Davis (Book 7 The Kennedy Boys Series)
5 Stars
I fully loved loved this story. It kept my interest throughout as there are quite a bit of suspense. Full of sexy love!!
Cheryl and Keven~ High school sweethearts. In their senior year of high school, an awful mistake happened that shouldn’t have had happened. Keven never dated anyone else because he still was in love with Cheryl. Keven had dates but never took them home. Getting Cheryl back is not an easy task.
“Cheryl was the love of my life growing up, and I never envisioned a future where she wasn’t in it.”
“Time to tell her what I should have told her senior year. Time to win back the heart of the only girl who has ever mattered.”
“Because you still love him.”
“He betrayed me in the worse possible way, and he shattered my faith in men. Kev broke something in me that day and I’ve never healed.”
Highly Recommend! ITS SO GOOD!!
I adore The Kennedy Boys series and have been holding out for this story. You see, Keven has always been my favourite of the boys, and I could not wait to see how his story played out. Sure, I was interested in all the stories, but I was truly desperate for Keven. I needed it, more than I needed any of the other books in the series – which is really something when you consider how desperate I’ve been for each of the books.
There was another thing that made me super excited for this one – Siobhan Davis said this is the first book she would truly label as romantic suspense. Books that fall into the categories of thriller, suspense, mystery, along with related genres such as police procedural, are some of my favourites. In fact, there was a time where they were the only type of book I would read. Thus, I was excited for a Siobhan Davis book that was a romantic suspense.
At the same time, a part of me was concerned. The reason I stopped reading so many books that fall into the aforementioned categories is because they no longer felt like they were what the genre is supposed to be. Instead of being thrills and suspense, the books were all about drama. I enjoy a good bit of drama, but when books are labelled thriller or suspense, I’m in it for the thrills and suspense not the drama – if that was the case, there are plenty of options out there where the books are dramatic and labelled as such. Although I would say Forgiving Keven falls into the same trap – just because there are FBI agents and a big case that results in some action, it does not mean it is a suspense book – I did enjoy the story. It was very much in line with the rest of The Kennedy Boys series, meaning it was drama filled and entertaining.
Was it my favourite book in the series? Honestly, no. Despite Keven being the Kennedy brother I’ve been most intrigued about, this is not my favourite story. It was fun, yes, but it was not my favourite. I’ve enjoyed some of the other books more. It’s a four-star rating, sure, but compared to some of the other books it is a weaker four-star rating. It’s a four-star rating sitting next to four-point-five-star ratings. Fun and worth the read, certainly a great addition to the series, but not my favourite.
Although this one works perfectly fine as a standalone novel, I would recommend reading the other books in the series first. At the very least, Seducing Kaden. With Forgiving Keven, we build quite a bit upon the prior book. There are many references to events and situations that were introduced in the prior book, and the best effect is had if you know what took place. It’s not a necessity, but it certainly makes for a better reading experience.
With plenty of drama throughout, you’ll be hooked to the story and more than happy to read it in a single sitting. You’re left desperate to see how everything comes together, eager to see how things play out, and in love with all that occurs. It has everything this series has become known for – the drama and romance, the great characters and gripping storyline, and so many other goodies that ensure you’re hooked throughout – guaranteeing you’ll be plenty pleased with the seventh book in the series.
As ever, we also get a look at what is to come next. We only have the triplets left, and this one leaves us with plenty of questions about how their stories will play out. Without a doubt, I’m once again eager to see what the next book in The Kennedy Boys series brings.
I love second chance romances. They make me smile. I like seeing two people reconnect after being apart. I like seeing them forge a new relationship. Which is why I liked Forgiving Keven so much.
What also sold me on the book was the location. Boston. I am from MA and I loved seeing cities that I grew up with and in being featured in the book. I actually lived in Chelsea for 4 years in my early to mid-’20s. So, yes, I loved it. I read the entire book with a Boston accent…lol.
The main plotline of Forgiving Keven was the plotline with Keven and Cheryl. It was well written and well researched. I liked that the author chose to highlight human trafficking. The scenes involving those girls were raw and gritty. I came close to tears a few times. Some of those children were around my kids’ ages. I couldn’t even imagine my daughter or my son being put through the hell that those girls were put through.
The secondary plotline was Cheryl and Keven’s relationship. I liked it because it was realistic. Everything that they went through, as teenagers and adults, was something that I could relate to. I loved that the author chose to have them go through some traumatic experiences when they were teenagers. I also loved the explanation that Keven gave Cheryl about what happened. Like I said earlier in the paragraph, the relationship was realistic.
The chemistry between Cheryl and Keven came off the pages. The author did a great job at amping up the chemistry/sexual attraction and keeping it up. Every single sex scene was explosive. Loved it!!
There were things that I didn’t like about Forgiving Keven. There were several scenes where women/girls were sexually abused. They weren’t graphic but it was enough for me to throw up a little in my mouth. I also didn’t like Keven’s triplet brothers. They came across as douche canoes the entire book. I wanted to smack all of them upside their heads. Also didn’t like, and this is a personal complaint, that Cheryl went from having bareback sex with Dan to having bareback sex with Keven. All I could think after the book ended, was “I hope she gets tested“.
The last half of Forgiving Keven was action-packed. Which also took me by surprise. I wasn’t too surprised by what happened to Cheryl’s fiance and his associates. Those guys had it coming to them. I did like that it was a HEA. If anyone deserved a happy ending, it was those two.

Final Score – 4 Stars
Now, I’ve been reading about these Kennedy Boys since the very first and I can keep going forever, but this one was just alright for me. It did’t quite hit the mark of the other books for me – I felt it was missing something – but all in all, it was good addition to the saga that I’ve grown to love. The book it well written and it was nice to re visit the old characters from the previous books to see where they are at in their relationships.
However, with regards to this book, I had a few issues. The action and suspense had me on edge – for about half a minute before I figure out what was happening. Maybe that was my issue … the predictability? Or it could have been the romantic aspect – no great build up, just a dump the one I’m with and Next! Now normally, I’m all for this – if it’s played out well and with a bit of maneuvering that is plausible. This felt all too rush over for my liking.
Siobhan Davis has me as a fan for life, so I’m hoping that the next book in the series will reignite my love of this series. Maybe it was off time for me to read this book – it was during the holiday and I had to take multiple breaks – so I’ll re-read again at a later time.
I’d like to preface my review by saying that I have not read any of the previous novels in The Kennedy Boys companion series. Though Forgiving Keven is considered a standalone, I would definitely recommend reading the previous novels to appreciate the story and characters fully.
Forgiving Keven is a second chance romance between two characters that were involved in high school. I wish Davis would have included a few more memories or flashbacks of their past relationship to cement their love for each other more. The memories that were included were intense and funny. Cheryl and Keven are both intense in their own ways, so seeing more of their pasts as as teenagers would have made the novel more emotional and their romance more believable.
Forgiving Keven feels more like an extension to another novel rather than a true standalone. The plot is almost intricately linked to the plot of a previous novel. Keven is forced to deal with his actions from a different novel that now brings him face-to-face with his long lost love from high school, Cheryl. Keven and Cheryl are then thrown into a whirlwind romance as they play a dangerous game with an infamous crime ring.
Keven and Cheryl’s chemistry is intense and sizzles off the pages. Keven is silently fierce with a subtle alpha male intensity. The few moments he spends reminding Cheryl of their attraction to each other are some of the best instances of the novel. Davis knows what she’s doing when writing male love interests. Davis straddles the line between overbearing alpha male and subtle male intensity with precision.
Forgiving Keven may not be the best novel to dive into The Kennedy Boys series, but it did convince me to start at the beginning as soon as possible!

Keven Kennedy wants to turn his life around after past transgressions catch up with him. Thinking about the places where this story takes place is easy since it’s set in my neck of the woods. Cheryl Keeland is not happy that her past is now part of her present. But is this a case of two worlds colliding?
One thing I found is that even though this may be listed as a standalone, you will find that his brother Kaden’s story has interweaved itself here. So it’s up to you whether or not which story you want to read first. Other Kennedy brothers make an appearance as well but they don’t overtake what’s going on here.
Keven was an interesting character. Our author doesn’t try to romanticize who or what he is. She gives him some real chinks in his invisible armor. I like to see that he wants to make amends for what he did in the past. We get to see how much of a human she made him. Cheryl is what makes this a good drama. It’s her character that creates the suspense. What will she do? How is all of this going to affect her future? I could see this playing out on Lifetime.
In my short introduction I’ve become intrigued by this family. Even though I started the series here, I didn’t feel lost but after seeing some of Keven’s family I’m curious as to what I’ve missed. Especially after reading part of Eva’s story. Here though, I liked how Cheryl was stubborn. After all, we can’t make things too easy on the men in our lives.
The suspense is weaved throughout the story. That’s a good thing since it keeps us wondering what’s going to come around the next corner. I also like that it continues almost to the very end. When it comes to the ending, things aren’t over yet. Make no mistake, we get an ending that will make you smile but our Kennedy Boys aren’t quite done with us yet.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
4.25-4.5 STARS
“Forgiving Keven” is the 7th installment to author Siobhan Davis’ Kennedy Boys series and is written in a similar vein to Kaden’s story, as both are forbidden, second-chance romances with underlying elements of danger and suspense. But that’s pretty much where the similarities end. Because unlike Kaden’s college romance, Keven’s story began back in high school, where he found–and then lost–the love of his life. Now fate has stepped in, putting Keven in a position to win back the heart of the only woman he’ll ever love.
Using his past bad deeds against him, law enforcement endeavor to capitalize on Keven’s “special talents” to help bring down the latest criminal forces rising to power. But when Keven believes that his former high school sweetheart, Cheryl, might be caught in the dangerous crosshairs, he needs no convincing to step up and help. Because Keven will do everything in his power to ensure that Cheryl remains safe. And, in the process, Keven hopes for Cheryl’s forgiveness and another shot at their very own HEA.
Delving between the pages of this newest Kennedy boy saga, I found myself once again, falling hard for yet another Kennedy. Clearly, there is so much more to Keven than what I originally had believed, as his and Cheryl’s story kept me completely enthralled from beginning to end.
“Forgiving Keven” is a sexy, heartfelt story, served up with a healthy side of heart-stopping suspense. Hence, I can’t even begin to imagine what the triplets will bring on next. But I can hardly wait to find out!
Loved this one! Keven is such a sweetheart! Keven messed up what he had with Cheryl in the past, but now that she’s in his life again, he’s not living without her. I love second chance romances, and these 2 have some great chemistry. I liked that Cheryl for the most part is a tough cookie; she’s bad at reading people sometimes, but she’s a good match for Keven. Besides Kyler, Keven has been the Kennedy book I’ve been waiting for, so it’s great that Keven was wonderful. Keven and Cheryl have some really sweet and sexy moments. He’s never moved on from her emotionally, and the love he has for her shines through in his beyond sweet actions. I liked the premise for Forgiving Keven; the FBI angle, the boyfriend that may be up to no good, horrible people galore. Lots of good stuff there. There’s lots of drama of course, and some of it didn’t quite feel authentic, but it does make for an enjoyable read. There’s some tough stuff to read in this book since there are some seriously disturbed people. I also loved that the other Kennedy boys get involved, and there’s some family bonding time. So, the next books up are the triplets and I’m sort of dreading it because those boys; besides Keaton, are very messed up. I think I’m going to hate Kent’s book because I can’t stand him. Plus, I don’t like Whitney at all. So, here’s hoping Siobhan Davis can redeem him for me. I’m interested to see why Keanu was dumped, but I don’t like when people withhold things from each other because they think it’s best, so Siobhan Davis has a bit of work there too, lol. Her writing is great, so I have faith! Overall, Forgiving Keven is very entertaining with a heartfelt romance with depth and passion.
Forgiving Keven is exactly what I’d hope it would be. Not only a continuation of the Kennedy family saga, but the culmination of his arrest at Christmas dinner. Keven Kennedy was blessed with astounding technical skills, until they became a liability. He loves his family more than anything and has used his abilities to protect all of them by placing chips, trackers and more in their shoes and cells. He also manages to get himself involved, however, with some illegal behavior. Documents prove that he is guilty of wire tapping, online gambling, larceny and more. The FBI descended on him during Christmas dinner and arrested him on the spot. He knew the time would come when his online activity would be discovered. This isn’t only an arrest. The FBI needs his technical skills to help battle a gang war erupting all over the city that is dealing in narcotics and sex-trafficking. If he will assist in the undercover operation to take them down, his police record will be wiped clean. When he looks at the photos that show him what is involved, he immediately says “I’ll do it!” He sees a picture of Cheryl Keeland, the only woman he has ever loved. They were high school sweethearts but he thoroughly messed up and lost her. She hates him but he is going to do everything he can to change her mind. Cheryl is still angry and feels betrayed by the man she had always loved. They’ve never discussed their break-up and she won’t discuss it now. The walls she put up are solid and Keven is going to have to do everything he can to win her heart back. Their passion is still palpable, as if no time has passed. To get her away from Daniel Stanten, her gangster fiancé, is going to be a dangerous mission. There is no doubt that the entire Kennedy will come to his side and do whatever they can to have Cheryl back in their lives. But there are dangerous men and horrible secrets all around them and their mission is going to include death and torture. There is not a moment that this book doesn’t absorb you. The Kennedy Boys are all swoon-worthy and I hope Siobhan Davis has more brothers in mind! Superb!
FORGIVING KEVEN by Siobhan Davis is book 7 in The Kennedy Boys Series. This is the story of Cheryl Keeland and Keven Kennedy. I have read the previous book, but feel you can make this a standalone book if you wish to do so.
Cheryl and Keven were once High School Sweethearts but a bad decisions but that in motion to end. Now in the present day Cheryl does her best to forget Keven and has become engaged to the ‘perfect’ man she thinks. Keven moved forward with his life but for him Cheryl was the only women that had claimed his heart. When Keven gets a chance via his FBI job to go forward to get back into Cheryl’s life he does so. But nothing is easy and sometimes something ‘perfect’ is not so.
Enjoyed their story!
