Andy Walker always knew Owen would come back to Freehope someday. Twelve years before, he’d skipped town, bailing on what was supposed to be their wedding day. She’d been wrecked. Totally devastated. But she’d also had other things to worry about, like the very public implosion of her life and the baby Owen had left growing inside her. Now, years later, all Andy wants is stability for her … stability for her daughter and for the past to stay buried, where it belongs
But when Owen shows up, Andy knows all her carefully buried secrets stand to be uncovered.
Owen Monroe left home at eighteen and tried not to look back. Though the memories of the girl he’d planned to spend his life with haunted him, he swore he’d never forgive her. Until, that is, he finds out the truth about what really tore them apart.
Oh, and that she had his baby all those years ago. His daughter, Jenna.
Now it’s up to him to earn her trust back and he’s willing to go to any lengths to do it.
This is a full-length SECOND CHANCE novel with an HEA, featuring a SECRET BABY!

Past trauma and abuse, begin the drama in this romance. Trust issues to overcome, apologies and amends to be made. All works out in the end. The struggles are resolved and HEA achieved. Good read.
Forgiveness
This is a great story of love & forgiveness. Owen comes back after his time in the Navy knowing that people would be upset. But he see Andy the one person he has lived since he was a teen. She is shocked to see him and she also has tell him about his daughter.
Finding love early on and losing it over a misunderstanding is the plight of Andy and Owen. So sad but a second chance is available 13 years later. Owen has a daughter, Jenna, to meet that he didn’t know existed. It is a story of putting pieces together and building a new future as a family and of love restored. They certainly have their share of challenges in the process. This story is beautifully written and it sure does give the reader all the feels. I was hooked in the first chapter and didn’t want to put it down.
This book had me in tears and laughter. I loved it from start to finish! There are no words for me to describe how much I love Jenni M Rose’s ability to convey feelings, none. She does it so masterfully and natural that I had a hard time putting it down for even a minute. Marvelous!
If you like second-chance romance and secret babies, this is the one for you! I recommend it wholeheartedly.
This is definitely in YA-ville, but for a second chance romance it was better than most, but still missing something.
A big and very ugly misunderstanding occurs that makes h and H hate and distrust each other. The consequences for the heroine were pretty dire.
SPOILER:She was roofied. The hero sees her during part of the assault and thinks she is cheating on him and walks away. He leaves town only for her to wake up and deal with that fallout as well as her baby. There was no question the baby is the H’s as she knew she was pregnant before the rape. So double whammy with the rape and trial. (hide spoiler)]
It’s now twelve years later and the H is back in town and very unwelcome. Angst junkies will love the vitriol he tosses at the heroine, but he backtracks once he learns about the whole scenario and feels really guilty he didn’t step in when he saw her. The groveling and new father parenting begins.
I think there was just too much said and not shown about their past relationship and some things that don’t add up.
The other problem was the startup of the more interesting romance between the heroine’s little sister and the H’s charming best friend. The little sister has issues and torpedoes their relationship in a big, ugly way. Second book is about them. I feel compelled to read it, but I hate it when a formerly fun and fun-loving character gets damaged.
This book is emotional, and sweet and funny! all the things a good romance book should be. I really enjoyed it!
Book was good, I’d say a solid 3.5. what kept it from getting more was a couple of things: I felt the sections from the sister’s and Doc’s POV just didn’t fit well and were there merely to promote future books in the series, and there was the plumbing scene that just felt awkward and forced.
Overall, I did like the book and I was happy that it is a stand-alone, even though it is part of a series. No future purchases required, though there is a novella available that is really the epilogue to this book (free if you sign up for the author’s newsletter.) I probably will read other books by this author.
