I devoured this book in one sitting! So good!!!
After meeting Bowen in Fleeting, and the way he acted around Lily, I couldn’t wait to dive into their story! There was so much angst, tension, and emotion that I got my hands on their story as fast as possible.
We all know I’m a sucker for second chance romances and I absolutely loved Bowen and Lily’s. They were high school sweethearts when a terrible car accident injured them both ending their relationship. For 10 years they avoided each other. For 10 years they acted like they hated each other. When Lily’s best friend starts dating Bowen’s brother, they are forced to be around each other and act civilized.
I fell so in love with both of them throughout their story! Bowen has a very tough exterior but when it comes to those he loves, he’s the biggest sweetheart! My heart felt so bad for Lily. She was so lost and didn’t know what to do with her life or what her next move was going to be.
Even though this was just my second read by this author, it quickly became my favorite! I loved their story and the way things played out. I can’t wait for the next Nash brothers’ story!
Grateful to have received a complimentary ARC copy to honestly review.
I thought that Fleeting was an amazing books, one that couldn’t be topped. But we caught glimpses of Bowen and Lily in their story, and I just knew it was going to be a heart breaker. Forgiven is they type of story that tears you up, before putting you back together again. Totally hits you in the feelings! It’s definitely one where you want to keep the tissues handy!
Lily is a good girl. She grew up in a small town, went off to college, and came home to become the town’s librarian. She had a happy childhood, but something is missing in her life. She still loves her high school sweetheart, who also still lives in their small, sleepy town. They had an amazing relationship, until suddenly, it was over, with no explanation. The only thing left was awkwardness, and avoidance.
Bowen was the town’s baseball superstar. Until tragedy took his chances to take it further, and he lost the only girl he would ever love, in one fell swoop. Secrets, regrets, and longing fill his life. Until circumstances push them together, and they just can’t stay apart anymore.
This book was full of anticipation, secrets, and hope. It was a very emotional book, that had me on the edge of my seat, wanting to uncover the secrets, and fix all of the problems, so Lily and Bowen could finally be together. After everything, they deserved that much! This was such an amazing, heart wrenching story!
‘Forgiven’ is the first book I’ve read by Carrie Aaron’s, and the second book in the Nash Brothers series. I was given this book in exchange for an honest review, and overall it was an easy sweet read that kept me entertained on my commute to work.
The story is about Bowen and Lily, two star crossed lovers who have been kept apart due to a secret pact made between fathers. Their story is painful, sweet, compelling and endearing.
After ten years of Bowen and Lily avoiding one another, it is time for answers. After a shock accident that landed Lily fighting for her life in hospital, and Bowen severely injured, Lily has sought closure. She yearns for answers about the boy that not only captured her attention as a teen, but also stole her heart.
As the ‘perfect’ daughter to her Senator father, Lily has been forced to toe the line, always being manipulated and told what to do in the hopes of pushing her fathers political agenda. She is undeniably strong for all she has overcome health wise, but you learn that she has been dependent on her family due to the loss of her one true love.
With Bowen avoiding Lily at every turn, she yearns for the closure she has sought, needing the answers to so many questions about what caused the demise of their relationship. With the engagement of her best friend to Bowen’s eldest brother, Lily finally gets her opportunity to confront Bowen and unburden herself from all the hurt and pain she’s felt for him.
Bowen is strong, but has always had one weakness, Lily Grantham. No matter what he does to erase her, she is always there, in his heart or in his mind. He has attempted to suppress his love for her, hiding behind a hideous pact that was out of his control, yet left him scared. But with the death of his father, a wedding emphasising love and the regular encounters with Lucy, Bowen finds it hard to remember why he was meant to stay away from her in the first place, and so the drama ensues.
This book was an easy and enjoyable read, the story was predictable, but the tone flowed well and I liked the way in which the author set the tone for the book. I enjoyed all the quirks of each character, and I look forward to seeing where this series goes.
I’d recommend to all romance lovers and anyone wanting to get stuck into a series, or pick up a good standalone.
Be still my beating heart! Forgiven by Carrie Aarons is giving me all kinds of feels. It is sweet, sexy, intense, heartbreaking and heartwarming. And Carrie Aaron’s writing is simply addictive!
Forgiven is the second book in Nash Brothers series but it can be read as complete standalone. This is the story of Bowen and Lily. I read about the mysterious tension between them in the first book and was dying to read their story. Carrie Aarons didn’t disappoint me. They were childhood sweethearts but one tragic car accident broke them apart. Bowen had to give up his dream of baseball and Lily. But Lily doesn’t know the secret. Now ten years of avoidance and hurt has to come to an end as Lily’s best friend and Bowen’s elder brother are getting married. Bowen tries hard to keep his walls together but true love cannot be hidden for long.
Bowen is going to make your hearts flutter and your panties are going to be a lost cause. He is ruggedly handsome and deeply loyal. He is caring, protective and just the right kind of bossy. He has this closed up vulnerable side that makes him more attractive. And Lily makes him better. My heart weeps for Lily. Life was unfair and cruel to her but she finally got her happily ever after! The story is full of emotional drama, sexual tension and swoon worthy epic moments. The ups and downs were amazing.
The main strength of Forgiven is Carrie Aarons flawless expert storytelling. Her beautiful words gave life to this second chance starcrossed lover’s romance! I didn’t want to leave them. A stunning read.
