Forgetting Jack Cooper: The First Love Edition
You never forget your first love … especially if it was a total disaster…
Ten years ago, Peyton Locke got dumped right before the biggest moment of her life. Valedictorian with a side of heartbreak–thanks to Jack Cooper. If not for the guy with the second best grade average, Nick Kolanowski, she never would have made it through her speech. Now that she’s back in Everton working at the Urgent Care, she’s determined to return the favor and be the most amazing friend Nick ever had.
Now a high school baseball coach and history teacher, Nick’s come a long way since he helped Peyton pick up the pieces after her break up, and he seriously can’t believe he’s back in the friend zone with her. She obviously has no idea that he’s loved her since 7th grade. Maybe their upcoming high school reunion is the perfect time to reveal his true feelings…
Or maybe not.
How could he know that Jack Cooper, current Hollywood It man, would show up–with a plan of his own?
It might take some epic reunion shenanigans, a bombshell from Jack, and maybe even a medical emergency, but one way or another, Nick is going to prove to Peyton that he’s the man for her. So what if he wasn’t her first love. Does that mean he can’t be her best?
See yourself how hard it is to try Forgetting Jack Cooper–five different times! The Forgetting Jack Cooper series features NYT and USA Bestselling authors Erin McCarthy and Jennifer Bernard, and award-winning authors Lizzie Shane, Elizabeth Bemis and Jennifer Chance.

I loved the concept of Forgetting Jack Cooper: The First Love Edition by Jennifer Bernard. Peyton Locke was dumped by Jack Cooper, right before the biggest moment of her life, giving the Valedictorian speech. Luckily, Nick Kolanowski, the guy right behind her, helped her make it through her speech. Ten years later, Peyton returns home to be one of the doctors at the Urgent Care and determined to repay Nick for being the best friend she ever had. Nick is now a high school history teacher and the baseball coach. Nick has become a more confident person over the years and is frustrated at once again being in the friend zone with Peyton. She is clueless that Nick has loved her since 7th grade. Maybe at their upcoming high school reunion he can tell her. That is until Jack Cooper, Hollywood It man, surprises his classmates showing up with a plan of his own. Will Nick be able to convince Peyton that he’s her forever man?
I really loved reading this book and had trouble putting this book down, reading it in one day. Ms. Bernard wove a wonderful story, drawing me in and not letting go until I turned the last page. I highly recommend this book to other readers and wonder what else Jack did in the other books in this series.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Forgetting Jack Cooper: The First Love Edition is a quick entertaining read. Peyton & Jack dated in high school until he dumped her, right before she had to get up at graduation & give her speech. Thank goodness her friend Nick was there & helped her get through it.
Jennifer Bernard has given her readers an entertaining story about high school & life. The characters are realistic & well developed – the brainiac, the smart athlete & the self absorbed jock. There were some unexpected twists that keep the reader involved. I enjoyed the interactions between Nick & his student, Dale and Nick & Peyton were great. I can’t wait to read the other stories in the set.
Forgetting Jack Cooper: The First Love Edition by Jennifer Bernard is a standalone but let’s just say following Jack on his “quest” is a hoot. Most importantly, FJC:TFLE is about two of the friends Jack needs to see on this trip to his hometown. Peyton Locke is back in her hometown of Everton, working at the Urgent Care Clinic, and the story opens with her helping a high school baseball player with a hurt wrist. He comes into the clinic with his coach, Nick Kolanowski, a close friend from her own high school days. Very cute love story, one where you sometimes want to slap both characters upside the head – letting them know they should just talk to one another – but it isn’t until both work through some teenage angst, and very big hurts, that they find their HEA. Wonderful, wonderful story! Quick read for me as I didn’t stop until I had read it all. Definitely recommend this book.
