In this steamy and sexy first book in the Kingman Brothers series–filled with relatable moments and electrical tension–a disgruntled assistant is wrangled into staying on to help her boss when he suffers from amnesia after a plane crash. Sophie Jordan dreams about hooking up with Nicolas “King” Kingman–the gorgeous CEO of her company–but as her boss, he’ll always remain out of reach. King … of reach. King knows he isn’t built for happily-ever-afters and only indulges in brief romantic encounters. But when Sophie agrees to fill in as his last-minute date to a charity gala, an unexpected discovery quickly escalates their platonic relationship to one of passion.
King is determined to ignore their attraction and, feeling betrayed, Sophie severs ties with him and the company. Everything changes, however, when he’s injured in an accident, and Sophie agrees to help until he closes a major deal. Unfortunately, he’s developed amnesia, and although he doesn’t remember their night together, desire binds them in ways they can’t resist.
Time is running out on closing the deal, as well as Sophie moving on to her new career. Will King deny love in favor of winning and lose Sophie forever?

Sophie Jordan has a boss who seems to have two personalities. Nicholas “Nic” “King” Kingman always seems to get what he wants. But Sophie is willing to stand up to him – kinda.
The book starts off with a woman crushing on her boss. Her boss seems to be either a womanizer or a bad boy- or maybe a little bit of both. I wanted to tell Sophie “good for you” when she decided it was time to stand up for herself. Then the author put in a twist and it had me wondering if Sophie was going to have to give up on her dreams.
At first I thought this was going to be a slow story but then it seemed to pick up once the twist came into play. If I had been a part of a few of the scenes, I think I would have told King to get off his throne and take a flying leap. Also felt that Sophie could do better for herself. I liked the addition of Nic’s brother and his father. Wanted to know what they were up to and how they would play a part in what I was reading. The ending was a bit of a surprise because I really can’t call it an ending since I feel that I was left up in the air. But that just means that I’ll have to read book two in order to see if the story carries on where this one left off.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
(Disclaimer: I’d probably put this at more 3.5 stars than 4.)
I liked Sophie (although I do think she didn’t make King work hard enough to win her back). She’s tried really hard to resist King, knowing exactly what kind of womanizer he is. She likes her job and crushing on him from the other side of the office door is at least something … until one night things get out of hand. I have to admire her for standing up for herself and getting out of the situation when she needed to. With King’s injury, though, everything changes. She still has feelings for him and the hurt is still there but she tries her best to keep things going smoothly for now. I couldn’t help cheering for her to go after the things that would make her really happy.
The amnesia thing isn’t as bad as might sound. King only looses a little bit of time, just enough to make the deal they’d been working on difficult. (It isn’t some soap opera-y thing 🙂 ) It helps to keep them together for just a little bit longer while King gets back on his feet. It also had me feeling even more for her. To be the only one to know what really happened but to face him every day and pretend like everything is fine … just awful.
I do wish we’d gotten a bit more about King’s relationship with his father. Crespo gives us just enough to understand why he doesn’t get involved but I think a little more detail would have made him even more relatable. As it is, for some, he might come off as a big of an a$$ instead of someone with issues. He really doesn’t treat women well at all before he finally lets Sophie in.
Full of angst and drama, uncomfortable moments and difficult situations, Forget You isn’t a light and easy read. But it does bring heat, heartache, growth, and a HEA ending.
*** I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else’s. ***
This book was a bit of a twist on what I consider the norm for rich boss and employee romance and I liked it.
Sophie is the best admin the Kingman brothers ever had, and never has Nic ‘King’ though about her in any way other than that. That is until he fought with his flavor of the week and had a friend dress her to attend a gala with him.
One night of passion followed by rejection has Sophie quitting her job, two weeks notice.
His plane going off the runway leaves him with a head injury and no recollection of their one night of passion, or the things he discovered at the gala.
Sophie makes a connection that will help her make the decision to leave King once he’s well enough to return to work. His friend Meghan who dressed her for the gala has a new clothing line coming out and she is designing and making the jewelry to compliment it.
I liked the twist of the guy having the accident and having to figure everything out again, including the way he managed to lose the girl.
A fun read with angst, family drama, sexual tension, plenty of sizzle and so much more!

* No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings
* Enough dialogues to keep the story intriguing
* Good love scenes that is tastefully described
* Secondary characters that makes me curious what their stories is
* A book that’s easy to read and difficult to put down
I recommend this start of a new series, I want to read the next.
I received a free copy of this book from the publisher.
Office romances are always fun to read. I like to read about them since I’ve never really worked in an office setting it seems like it would be hard to keep up the pretense of nothing going on when in the same space M-F for eight hours a day.
Sophie is King’s assistant and works her fingers to the bone for the man. King, who’s always been attracted to his assistant, has tried to keep Sophie at arms length by being a total jerk. He’s demanding and Sophie is the only assistant he’s had that’s kept up with him and his burly attitude.
There was a little drama in the story. A bit of a catty moment. All in all this love story was short and sweet. After getting his head out his butt King realized Sophie is definitely someone he needed in his life – and not as his assistant.
I think you’ll enjoy this quick read.
Forget You by Nina Crespo is the First book in The Kingman Brothers series. This is the story of Sophie Jordan and Nicolas “King” Kingman.
Sophie has had feelings for her boss for a while but King is a ‘love them and leave them’ kind of guy..never having a real relationship whit a women. When his latest lady leaves him dateless to go to a work Gala he talks Sophie to set in so he doesn’t have to go alone. This opens them up for an intimate night where it meant so much to Sophie but King tries to put things back where their relationship was previously. Sophie gives her notice to leave the company but then King is in an accident that she steps forward to help him with his recovery….which leads t more feelings growing between the two.
Really enjoyed this book.
Ok I’ve got to be honest – I didn’t like King all that much at the beginning of this story, with his moving from one woman to the next, before he spent the night with Sophie. But when the story started to move forward he kinda sneak up on me and by the end I was rooting hard for him to convince her to take him back.
The fact that Sophie helped him after his accident speaks volumes about her character. I was so proud of her when she finally gathered her courage to peruse her carrier in jewelry business.
As for the love affair and grand gesture? The best part of the book. I love it when men have to prove and earn the love women offer to them.
»Before you left, I said you shouldn’t jump blindly into things. You told me that when it’s important, you should. You0’re right. I never believed in happily ever after, but now I’m willing to take a blind leap to explore a future with that possibility. But only with you. Take a leap with me, Sophie«

Nina Crespo is a new author to me and Forget You is book 1 in her new The Kingman Brothers Series.
Sophie has had a crush on her boss King for as long as she can remember but he has never looked at her in a romantic way until a night she steps in as his date at a charity event, after a night of passion things go horribly wrong and Sophie ends up giving two weeks notice. King is involved in an accident and can’t remember the past month or so ………
Too be honest it took me a while to warm up to King, I loved Sophie from the start but by the end of this book I was rooting for a HEA for this couple. This is a fast paced story that flows, it’s full of misunderstandings between Sophie and King and for me that made it realistic because let’s be honest life isn’t all smooth sailing. Looking forward to book 2 in the series
4 Star Review of Forget You (The Kingman Brothers #1) by Nina Crespo
Nina Crespo is a new author to me. The premise of the story drew me in and it was a good read although to me it was more drama and angst that comedy which was what I was expecting.
Honestly, I wasn’t too keen on King to begin with but he did slowly grow on me; he was a typically arrogant, at times egotistical businessmen, who felt he was entitled. Sophie I liked, although I was extremely frustrated by her acceptance of the treatment given to her by King, I mean enough is enough.
The chemistry between Sophie and King is off the charts, even though he has suffered a traumatic brain injury and does not remember sleeping with his assistant Sophie prior to the accident.
In my opinion there was room for further development of the characters and the story line whilst good, felt as though I was missing something. Having said that I will certainly read more from Nina Crespo as I enjoyed her style of writing.
I loved this story start to finish! Sophie is the assistant to King and she is like superwoman in the office and keeps him on time for everything. When one of his dates reads more into their relationship than he wants he sends her away but now he needs a date for the gala so he has Sophie go with him. Sophie has been attracted to her boss for a long time but she know she would be doomed if she allowed it to happen, well now they are both doomed. Loved how strong Sophie is and determined and her attention saves King plenty of times.
