Love reading Chad story. This story definitely hit on so many hard places that us as human beings live through and the difficulties we have in facing them. Chad and Molly was not a easy journey they had to go through. I’m happy they got that love that is so beautiful from being friends and then becoming much more for one other. It was a beautiful read I’m so looking forward for more from this author.

Chad and Molly.
They’ve been best friends since they can remember – their moms have been best friends since they were little!
But once highschool started, things changed.
And now – 30 years old – they’re only seeing each other every once in a while – at family events when Chad is in town.
He still lives with his parents. He’s still with his stupid girlfriend – who is not very interested in taking the next step in their relationship.
Molly is singing at a local bar a few nights a week.
Chad is the guitarist for a famous singer – he makes good money. He’s dreaming of having his own house, a wife, kids. And he wants to be healthy – he’s in constant pain due to a undiagnosed lifelong stomach/colon disease.
Will seeing each other again – becoming friends again – be the moment when all their wishes will finally start coming true??
What will happen to Molly & Chad?
Will we get our happily ever after?
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT!
I just adore #RockstarRomances!
And this was a lot more rockstarish than other rock star books! We really go on tour and perform every night – I really love that!
But this story is also a second chance thingy. Not really, because they were never really a couple back then, but still.
They’ve been so close up until highschool. They made wishes upon stars. They dreamed and hoped and planned.
And now those wishes could finally come true. But there’s so much in the way of their happily ever after.
Girlfriend. Work. Distance. Health. Insecurity ….
But of course the reader adores every single moment of the journey to that happy end!
I loved reading Molly & Chad’s story!
And we got to see Devin & Sebastian & Ty & Jon and the girls again too!
Seb is hilarious!!! He needs his own Netflix show! All the guys do – ooooh….
Devin & The Daisies or something like that!
Anyway … I adored this book.
It’s beautifully written – so full of love and hope and family and friends and some really heavy not-very-often-mentioned real life health problems! And of course:
ALL THE FEELS!
The writing though – grrr – I know it’s like this on purpose … but Kelsey uses way too much informal Texas ‘slang’ in her writing. There’s waaayyy too much WANNA GONNA THINKIN’ DOIN’ TRYNA – basically every other word is one of those! I would be okay if one person would talk like that – but they all do and they even think like that in the non-conversation text moments. It’s just too much. And then suddenly there’s a long paragraph without any of those words. So weird.
I’m usually totally for more informal language in books – I hate it when authors make their New Adult couples talk like 70 year old lawyers or professors, but this was too much!
Also … Chad … I loved him! He’s such a kind and talented and sweet guy. But he was a tiny little bit too insecure or whiney or …no – insecure is the better word. He’s stayed with Ali for so long even though she’s a total b*tch – we never see how they even fell in love. Why are they together? Because he’s scared to be alone? So weird. And then he’s so insecure about so many things. In high school! Jeez. How can you want to be popular so bad that you forget about your best friend so fast? Ridiculous! And now – he’s a big, bad, tattooed guy and he acts like a baby in so many situations. Also with his disease. I get that it’s a kind of taboo thing to talk about, you can be embarassed and a bit insecure about it if you want … but I’d rather talk about it then be constantly afraid of dropping dead any second. GO TO A DOCTOR … jeez! No matter how much you wish it to – it’s not going away by ignoring it!
Too many things were too insecure about his character. I wished he would’ve been a bit stronger and more mature in some moments.
But I still loved him and his story!
Can’t wait to read Greyson’s book! More Seb!
FORGET THE STARS was a beautiful & heartbreaking love story.
Run to your nearest amazon for your own Chaddington – he’ll be sold out in no time!
Chad and Molly were friends from birth. They went through a phase where they lost touch. Chad and Molly see each other and they start the friendship back up, but there is definitely sexual tension. Can they be together? Great characters and storyline Highly recommended Amazing Book
Fuuny, Adorable and an Easy read.
AHEEEMM …
That book was AMAZING.. I honestly fell in love from the first page.
I would say it was predictable as soon as I read the prologue I knew how the book was going to turn, but even so, it was catching as ever, but it didn’t stop me from turning the page, as you can see I finished in 2 days.
And can we say SEBASTIAN IS THE BEST, I want him as my best friend, I fell in love with him as soon as he entered the book, he had me smiling at the book on so many occasions, I love the bromance between him and chad it’s just amazing and the way he constantly protects Molly.
I would highly recommend this book, it’s an easy read, entertaining with laughs almost throughout the book.
4.5 bright stars
This was my first book by this author and I loved it !!!
Molly and chad are #chally and I totally #ship them haha .
Molly and chad grew up together as best friends , their mums are also inseparable best friends , (nosey and interfering but also lovable )
They grew apart in high school and went their separate ways in collage and life.
For this story they are now 30 and find their way back to each other as both best friends and then lovers to
Find their HEA .
It’s a friends to lovers /rock band on tour style romance with awesome side characters great world building!
It’s a full stand alone but it’s obvious there are characters here that have their own books so I’m off to find those now!!
Chad and Molly were best friends as children then life changes as do most things in High School and their friendship faded into the background. As adults Chad joins a successful rock band, but he has debilitating health issues that he is treating on his own instead of seeking medical help and is dating a high maintenance girl who doesn’t care about his health or needs. At this point in his life he feels he should be further along with life (marriage, better health and not living with his parents). Molly was bullied as a child and was a bit of an outcast, her protector was Chad, but when their paths separated she had to deal with High School on her own. Despite this she grows up to be open hearted and caring. She does have some abandonment issues but nothing to bad. For some extra cash Molly sings and when she and Chad reconnect and their friendship blossoms again she is asked to be an opening act on the tour with Chads band.
The friendship and love between Chad and Molly is very sweet and heart warming. You get to see the characters from previous books which I enjoyed. You do not need to read the other books to enjoy this book, but it will help better understand some of the storyline. Kelsey took a difficult storyline talking about a chronic illness and treated it and the character with honesty and compassion. I would recommend this book and the others from this author.
Love that Kelsey Kingsley doesn’t always make life beautiful and easy for her characters. They have real problems, diseases etc and live real lives. I am totally in awe of Molly and her strength. Even when abandoned by Chad in high school she comes out stronger and believing in herself. I struggled a bit with Chad. I wanted to smack him and say dump the long time girlfriend who treats you like dirt regardless of whether you reconnect with your childhood friend. Also couldn’t believe he was so in denial about his digestive issues that he thought it was better to not know what was going on. Glad that Molly was a force for the good. Loved getting to spend so much time with the band mates. They are truly good guys who look out for those they love and that Molly quickly became part of the group. Always looking forward to the next emotional trip that Kelsey will take me on.
Do you know what I love most about this author? It’s how fearless she is in her writing. Kelsey is not afraid to tackle tough subjects. And in Forget the Stars, she once again works her magic!
Chad Wilcox, guitarist with Devin O’Leary and the Blue Existence, has always been a bit of an enigma to me. He’s always seemed slightly apart from the others. As if something was holding him back. Yeah, he laughed and joked with the others. His love and care were obvious, but you could tell he was hiding something behind that smile. So, as you can imagine, I was excited to read his story.
I was prepared before diving in this time though. Tissues were stocked in readiness! And, boy, were they needed. Yes, I know I’m a sap (and repeat ad nauseum *snorts*), but this story was just packed full of feels.
I felt Chad’s pain as my own. As someone who has struggled with my own health issues in the last few years (TMI alert: gallbladder removal, sensitive gut and resulting food intolerance) – I felt I could relate quite keenly to Chad’s struggles and worry.
Just because you battle a chronic illness doesn’t mean you aren’t deserving of love, too. IMHO, I think it makes you doubly so. It just takes the right person to connect with.
Childhood best friend and next-door neighbour – could Molly be his person? High school and foolish decisions drove them apart. Will he let her slip through his fingers again? With their shared family history, we’d like to think not.
Rekindling their friendship, awakens a part of Molly’s heart she thought she’d lost forever but along with that comes the resurfacing of old insecurities. Personally, I could identify with so much of Molly’s history.
She had this whole Mother Earth vibe going on and I loved her. She doesn’t blink at Chad’s diagnosis. Molly is just ready to step up and be there to help. Can this woman be my friend please? Scratch that – I want to be friends with them all.
Sometimes you have to forget the stars to see what’s in front of you – what’s always been in front of you.
*hiccups*
*blows out breath*
Right, I’m away before I get any more emosh all over you.
What can I say? *shrugs* This read was something special.
A good second chance at love story. Best friends till high school, Molly and Chad found themselves living different lives. This book was about their chance to reunite as friends and more. There were feelings to move beyond, and the realization that they were now ready for this. I enjoyed this story and recommend it.
I received a copy of this story through Enticing Journey Book Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.
Any Kelsey Kingsley book is a pleasure to read. Molly and Chad were no exception. Highly recommend.
I never know where to start when it comes to reviewing a book by this author. Kelsey Kingsley writes in a way that you connect with her stories emotionally. Forget the Stars is about Chad. A band member we’ve read about since Daisies & Devin and I’ve been curious about him for awhile.
Chad just turned thirty, still lives with his parents, has a girlfriend that doesn’t seem to want to commit and a stomach issue that seems to keep getting worse. With his birthday, he’s starting to wonder where his life is headed. Chad wants to settle down and start a family, but isn’t sure that will happen.
Molly is our other character and she’s quite amazing as well. She’s more of a free spirit and loves music. Her local music gig is something she loves. I love how down to earth she is and Molly can be a feisty one. This wasn’t always the case and she’s grown a lot since high school.
Forget the Stars has a dual POV and something that made me love it even more is the flashbacks to when Molly and Chad were younger. They grew up together (their mothers are best friends) and were friends and always together for the longest time. Until high school and they grew apart. I loved these moments, because it gave us an idea of the bond they always had.
This story has so many elements that made it great. We’ll start off with the fact that these characters are far from perfect. Chad is dealing with some stomach issues and hasn’t gone to see a doctor. His symptoms are becoming scary and he’s afraid. Not many authors choose characters with chronic illnesses, but I thought it’s amazing she did. A lot of people won’t talk about it, but shouldn’t feel ashamed of anything that’s going on. These things definitely need to be out in the open and how Chad deals with everything is amazing. The author shows all the sides of this. The pain, fear, frustration and maybe even denial from people around you. And even more important, that you are still able to follow your dreams.
Then we have a cast of amazing characters. Chad and Molly’s moms are a lot of fun and had me laughing out loud. The band even more so. I already loved Sebastian and this book made me love him even more. I love the sense of family you get when reading about them. I could easily read a whole book of them on tour! Characters are a big part of the book and these ones are amazing!!
Of course, we can’t forget Molly and Chad. Always being close and then not was hard. Maybe more so on Molly. I loved seeing them connect again and slowly start to trust each other again. Many may say their relationship went quickly, but some people are just meant to be. I think everything felt natural in this story and I loved them finding each other at the time they both needed it without even knowing it! Their relationship hits you in all the feels and hooks you from the start.
I think I’ll stop here though, because I could write a book about all my thoughts and feelings. All I know is that I can’t wait for the next book Kelsey gives us!
Oh my heart Chadinngton!
Kelsey does not disappoint with Forget the stars!
In this story We meet Chad & Molly, best friends that drifted apart after starting high school and who happen to meet by accident years later.
Chad deals with a very real illness that definitely does not get enough spotlight as disgusting as it maybe. If only we could all find that one person who accepts us flaws, Illnesses & all.
Wish I could give this a hundred stars….a beautiful story …my new favorite from one of my favorite authors…a great continuation of a wonderful series…it’s great to see old friends and meet new ones…Molly and Chad are one of the best couples…a totally realistic story with beautiful messages.
We live in a society that puts its lives out there on social media for the world to see, but only the pretty parts. You see, we don’t want to look at real life. We turn away from it because it’s not aesthetically pleasing or because it might make you say “ewww!” We base everything on appearances, but life isn’t about appearances. Life is hard and messy, and ugly, and painful, and yeah, sometimes it’s a little bit gross. Life, real life, is beautiful in all its glory and we should embrace it.
Kelsey Kingsley puts all those things into this story and brings our attention to a subject rarely dealt with in contemporary romance novels. She tackles the problems faced by Chad with brutal honesty giving the story a realness that allows us to delve in and become invested in these characters.
We could learn a lot from Chad and Molly.
Kelsey Kingsley is an author whose books get better and better with each release. Forget The Stars is no exception. This book is raw, real, enchanting, heartbreaking and life-affirming. It shows that love in all its forms is possible, that life is not always a bed of roses but that a Happy Ever After is within everybody’s reach.
Chad Wilcox is the latest member of Devin O’Leary’s band to get his own book, following the extremely loveable Sebastian Moore and the winsome and gentle Jon O’Dell. Chad is something of a contradiction; he doesn’t appear to live a typical rock star lifestyle. Still living in his hometown, with his parents and stuck in a relationship that’s going nowhere. Chad is just a simple man who happened to find himself in a band.
He gets the chance to reconnect with his childhood best friend, Molly, when the band need an opening act for their upcoming tour.
The book explores the two of the reconnecting, whilst addressing the reasons they lost touch, Molly’s self esteem issues and Chad’s illness. It’s such an intelligent, empathetic read, with tender moments alongside humorous ones (usually provided by the wonderful Sebastian).
I fell in love all over again with this whole band of characters and my heart was simultaneously happy and sad when the book was finished. A book I cannot praise enough.
WOW!!! Kelsey blew me away again! This book was so freakin’ good! I loved how quickly Chad and Molly fell back into their friendship and watching it progress into something more. Ali was horrendous and I was relieved when Chad finally gave her the boot! I especially loved the camaraderie between the bandmates. Adding Molly into the mix was a plus! Kelsey Kingsley, “Forget the Stars” gets all the stars!!!!
I have been waiting to read Chaddington’s story since I learned that there would be one; ok, truth be told I have been waiting since I first “met” him as a supporting character.
I love everything about this book. I love that the characters develop nicely. I love that some of my old favourites pop in for a visit. I love that Kelsey isn’t afraid to make her characters real people with real issues and problems. I think I love that the most. Kelsey’s characters are all so well written they could be my friends or neighbours.
If you haven’t read any of Kelsey’s work I highly recommend all of it. She is an author that I always one click.
Could not put this book down!!! Forget the Stars is an extremely entertaining read that pulled me in from page one, and I was addicted to every word! I loved Molly and Chad and my heart reached out to them, cheering them on from the beginning.
Molly and Chad were childhood friends, until high school happened. In a very realistic case of growing apart, they find themselves almost strangers as they turn 30. It’s a great reminder that the right thing has to happen at the right time, and these two are so, so right. Chad struggles with the kind of symptoms nobody likes to talk about, yet so many people have experienced, at least on a less serious level. He’s this beautiful tattooed rockstar who is so embarrassed by his illness, he won’t even see a doctor. But Molly provides the motivation, through support and strength and her own determination to rise above, and they grow together. I love Chad and all of his flaws. But Molly is the hero in this one. She is brave and strong, even when she is doubting or unsure. She chooses what is the right path for her, even if the other option would seem like a better choice. It’s great to get a peek at the band, and Sebastian doesn’t disappoint as he shares his unapologetic brash yet heart- melting sweet thoughts as they pop into his brain. I also enjoyed the families of Molly and Chad and the relationships that rounded out these two beautiful souls. I’ve never read anything quite like this one before, and I am so impressed by Kelsey’s willingness and ability to do these characters justice in their flawed perfection. It’s a great read, one I couldn’t put down until it was done. Thanks for sharing your heart so beautifully, Kelsey.
Such a beautifully written story. I can honestly say it touched my heart in so many ways. The emotions were strong and heartfelt. It touched on issues not many books do but it was put across fantastically. An absolutely amazing read.
