I fell in love with a boy a long time ago. I was only a small girl. Scared and frightened, I was taken from my home and held against my will. His father hurt me, but he protected me and kept me safe as best he could. Until I left him. I ran the first chance I got and even though I knew he wasn’t behind me, I didn’t stop. The branches lashed out at me, punishing me for leaving him in the hands of … leaving him in the hands of a monster.
I’ve never felt such guilt in my life.
Although I survived, the boy was never found. I prayed for him to be safe. I dreamed he’d be alright and come back to me. Even as a young girl I knew I loved him, but I betrayed him.
Twenty years later, all my wishes came true.
But the boy came back a man. With a grip strong enough to keep me close and a look in his eyes that warned me to never dare leave him again. I was his to keep after all.
Twenty years after leaving one hell, I entered another. Our tale was only just getting started.
It’s dark and twisted.
But that doesn’t make it any less of what it is.
A love story. Our love story.

If I could rate this a 10 out of 5, I would. This is dark with a twisty surprise that you won’t see coming until it smashes a mirror in your face. It’s brutal and intense and keeps you guessing, all while opening up a world of love that very few people will ever get to know. Excellent writing! Excellent concept! Tour de force!
Everyone has a past. It can shape you into who you become or define the way you live. But everyone has a past…
Some are sweet. Some bring smiles and wistful glances. Others are the stuff nightmares are made of. And still others lurk just past nightmares into a horror we can only pretend to understand.
Forget Me Not was a beautifully dark tale of those hidden horrors no longer lurking in the corner. No, these ones came leaping out and refuse to go back. I am fighting happy/sad/fufilled tears as I type this.
I was joking with a friend that I must be deranged for gobbling up the dark romances but I think it’s a reminder for us broken ones that there’s hope. Look at me waxing poetic…Just remember I like the bad boys, so Jay is MiNE!

Willow Winters writes an incredible story with such detail and passion that it is felt in soul.
Five TWISTED stars! The best twisted tale of love. Five stars are not enough for this masterpiece.
This book has tortured my mind in a sweet and sinfully way. Willow Winters has broken my soul and then she put the pieces back together. My heart ached with every page until the end of it. This is one of the most twisted books I’ve ever have the pleasure to read.
The characters are really complex. They are damaged but in between that damage they are broken souls who want to be free from darkness. They desire to be free from the monsters of their past. They only can heal their wounds together. One is the antidote of the other.
Forget me not is beautifully twisted. I wonder how Willow could express with so much reality how tortured souls are, how do they feel and how do they seek redemption. Willow gift us one of the best read of the year, a twisted tale of love.
Prepare yourself for a roll coaster of twisted feelings like madness, sickness and craziness. This time the bad boy and good boy are the same. John is a tortured soul ready to find redemption and he only will find it with Robin’s help. His mind forgot what his hearth craves: his little bird. She is the only one who can heal her mind and soul.
“We’re both damaged, but the tortured soul in front of me makes feel everything. He makes me want to live and heal his tormented soul.”
They say that human mind is stronger and capable of many things. As for example the brain is able to order the body to enter into coma in order to recover. Our mind is powerful. It can forget traumatic things from our past like John. A shitty past plus a stressful childhood can make you lose your mind but there is always hope. A tortured boy is now a man who is ready to catch his little bird.
“His eyes are the same. God, his eyes are everything. The only thing I can see. The boy and the man looking at me are the same”.
A little bird was captured and wanted to be free. Fortunately, she escaped of her cage. But a high cost. Now she is a beautiful woman who cannot stop blaming herself for abandoning that boy who saved her life. Her Jay. Guilt consumes her like darkness into the light. For second time she will be captured. But this time she won’t escape. She will help her savior and captor.
“My little bird likes her gilded cage, but she is not a fool. She knows that’s exactly what it is. Seeing her here in my clothes, in the room I made just for her… it makes me want more.”
Not every love story is pink; there are some which are dark. However, at the end of the way, there’s the light every broken soul craves.
“I’ll always protect you, little bird.”
If you are craving for a good read, you shall pick this book right now. Five stars are not enough for this masterpiece. I highly recommend you this book.
This is one of my favorite stories in Willow’s collection. I love to read heartbreaking stories that ling on my heart forever. There is just something special about the journey of their friendship. The story comes alive from the first page until the end. Happy to now say that I am current on her entire collection. Especially love how she is able to describe every little detail.
3.5
I will be very honest. I was expecting a little more about the story between Robin and John.
1- I never knew what John father did to John and Robin.
2- How he mark them as a teenagers?
3- What happened to John when his father was dead?
4- How the love they shared started growing when they were stuck together in a basement?
5- The end was very fast. I couldn’t savored more of the story.
This could be a 5 stars book if the author explore more. But I really enjoy the story and I love Willow Winters words.
Dark and twisted indeed. There’s a reason I don’t read a lot of mysteries. Knowing there’s a secret, some missing piece of the puzzle that I’m not yet getting, makes me crazy. It was worth it when I was able to put it all together. It’s clear that there is real love between them, but it’s built on pain and tragedy.
This book was insanely amazing! Dark, twisted and heart-wrenching read that demanded all of my attention. I’ve never read a book like this before and I was amazed by how Willow wrote this book. If you’re looking for a different kind of a breathtaking read, I highly recommend this book! 5 Insanely Amazing stars!!
Wow this book had me from the start. I couldn’t put this down. It was a mind twist with so much emotion. Loved the characters and the twist. It was dark, but I really felt for the characters and at first I couldn’t figure out what was truly going on. I did figure it out before it was reveled. But that didn’t take away the awe for me. This book just kept me turning the pages quickly and letting life go on around me. This was the first book I’ve read by this author and won’t be the last. I’m going to have to sit back and reflect on this one for a bit.
This book was so confusing at the beginning! But then… then it all made sense and blew my mind! I was not expecting this when I started it. It was so well written!! Robin, John and Jay went through so much trauma and to get an HEA like that is amazing. I loved this book so much.
I couldn’t put this book down. It was a page-turner for sure. The author keeps you guessing up until the last minute.
John/Jay and Robin had suffered so much in their past that it kept messing up with their present and future. Willow Winters was amazing.Yes, it was dark, but at the same time it was romantic and definitely HEA. Definitely worth it and recommend it. Thank you Willow for another amazing couple.
Wow, what a trippy ride! It was like putting pieces of a puzzle together to figure out what the total picture looked like. This story showed that no matter what, love wins!
I liked this book even though it was kind of messed up. I felt like it was lacking something but still a good read
Holy sh#t! I would give this book wayy more than 5 stars! Especially after reading this until the end and the absolute mind f*ckery that happens that turns this story into something that I’ve certainly never read before!
I loved every minute of reading this book. The opening chapters (which included a prologue) grips the reader with horrifying dark details of child abuse and goes on to go through the lives of the people affected by this horrible man. How John, Jay, and Robin all find love at the end – that will be the mind f*ck (and it’s not what you’re thinking!) The details and scenes described make you feel you’re part of the story, like you’re the fly on the wall of this tale that you can’t put down, that you have to see to the ending.
This story is a love story unlike any you will read. It starts with two young children and brings you to them when they are adults. I don’t think there was an emotion I didn’t feel while reading this story between Jay, Robin, and John. This is a beautifully written tragic love story that I am so happy was written. I voluntarily read an advance reader copy for my honest review. And my honest opinion is to go buy/borrow/steal this book and read it is as soon as possible. Willow did an amazing job with their love story.
On a side note. I have this beautiful sign on my wall and it reminded me of this story. “Every love story is beautiful but ours is my favorite”
Willow Winters never disappoints when she writes a book. She is a one click author for me and will stay that way for a very long time. Forget me not, is NOT what I usually expect from Willows, but it was a welcome surprise. She takes two very sensitive subjects and creates a beautiful love story that in honesty blew me away.
If you have read the prequel to this story you will have a better understanding of what this couple went through in order to reach their happily ever after. They are both broken in a way unimaginable to the average person, Jay worst of all. Although the both had to endure their own hardships once leaving that basement, they were able to find ways to cope. However, the guilt they felt are them apart from the inside.
Winters has an interesting take on Jay and his problems that I have never read before and it was amazing. She was able to show the subject the respect it deserves while creating a beautiful story of healing for both characters. I can not say the plot twist was a surprise for me personal, but it was executed flawlessly.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for something different. Someone looking for the not so cookie cutter love story with the perfect couple. This story or is raw and honest in a way that only Winters can convey
Really a 4.5. Very moving and very sad. Edited well.
Jay is a very abused child. In a power play, his father kidnaps Robin, using her to further Jay’s torment. After a few months, Jay is able to set Robin free, leaving himself to face the monster alone. Years later, Robin has become a psychiatrist in an attempt to help others where she feels she failed Jay. One night, Jay kidnaps Robin in an attempt to fix what is broken in both of them. Are his intentions honorable? Will he hurt Robin? Will she save him? And, how does John play into the whole mess? Will they drown in guilt and anger? Will love save them in the end?
Very sad. Very moving. I would say enjoy, but how exactly can one enjoy a tale of a monster? I suppose by focusing on the love it takes to overcome the monster. In the end, Love wins.
Couple of broken souls – The Lil bird & The lone Wolf – Jay, Robin & John
ღ I was only 12 years ago when John father took me, at 1st he only use me to keep Jay in check.. But then things started to change
First chance she got she ran like hell, even though she knew he hadn’t follower her
Twenty years later
Can they fix each other after all these years apart, or will their souls forever be lost
Lord I want to go in to great details about this book, but that would just ruin it for you
• This is not a romance novel if that’s what you’re looking for
This is a dark read with an unusual twist to the story and somewhere in between the lines love was found it’s not your typical love story , so keep that in mind as you read this story and keep an open mind
I expected a few damaged characters, But I didn’t expected this book to be so captivating- Lord once I started reading this book I couldn’t put it down
•I love books that can have you crying one moment & ready to kill in the next moment, even if the story has its dark side or its twist & turns – it still can hold touch of Love – This is another one of those books where you wanna yell out loud WTF- Great Job Willow Winters

Paulette Review
This is story of a past that haunts Robin and Jay. Robin feels so much guilt for leaving Jay behind. She struggles with her own demons as she counsel others to help them work through theirs. But Jay never leaves her thoughts. Jay has survived so much in his life, but he has never forgotten Robin. He saved her, but he loved her too.
Forget Me Not is an emotional story of how Jay and Robin met and came to be. There are twists and turns along the way. The emotions felt by Jay and Robin are so real. I struggled right along with them. From the first chapter until thr last, I became a part of their world and I needed to knoe more but struggled to swallow what each of them had to reveal. Willow Winters is amazing at tugging at your heart, capturing your mind and taking you on journeys you never thought were possible
