‘AMAZING’ Marian Keyes
I disappeared on a Tuesday afternoon. I was there one minute and the next I was gone. They’ve never found my body… side of the road.
Clare dies minutes later, but not before whispering her haunting last words to Elizabeth.
When it becomes clear that Clare’s killer has more than one murder on his mind, Elizabeth has to take drastic action or face losing everything.
But what if she can’t stop a killer determined never to be forgotten?

Loved the story, couldn’t put it down.
Forget Me Not starts out with a bang and never lets up.
Elizabeth and her dog come upon a severely injured person who just before she dies whispers “Warn them”
She has been asked not to reveal those 2 words by the police but something inside Elizabeth says I have to.
How many people is the killer after , how many are in danger.
A few as it turns out including Elizabeth.
I was holding my breath in spots, telling other characters look out but to no avail.
Forget Me Not was a great fast paced read.
What a heart thumper!
In true Claire Allen style, this one kicks off with high adrenaline and never lets off the gas.
Elizabeth, banana bread lover, is walking her dog one morning when she discovers Clare by the side of the road, savagely attacked and left for dead. Moments before dying Clare whispers to Elizabeth, “Warn them…”
Warn who??
About what??
Clare’s friend Rachel, already reeling from the recent loss of her mother, struggles when she learns about the death of her good friend.
Everyone has secrets, everyone is in the cross hairs and try as you might to figure this out, the ending is gritty and unexpected.
This book could easily could have bee read in one sitting but I don’t think my heart could have taken it! There were lots of twists and turns and I found it hard to put down.
Elizabeth, a kindly grandmother, is out walking her dog early one summer morning when she makes a shocking and gruesome discovery – the body of a young woman, savagely mutilated and on the verge of death, dumped on the side of the road. Whispering just two words ‘warn them’ before expiring, the message haunts Elizabeth, leaving her unable to rest until she can work out just who she needs to warn, and about what.
The narration alternates in first person between Elizabeth and Rachel, whose closest friend Clare was the woman murdered on the road. Though at first glance this seems to be the only link between the two, it’s slowly revealed that there is a much deeper and darker connection, one which may lead to more deaths before Clare’s killer is brought to justice.
Elizabeth is easy to sympathize with, especially as the tragedies she’s suffered through are revealed. Rachel is harder to like, even though we first meet her as she’s thinking about the tragedy of her mother’s death, because she’s in the middle of imploding her own marriage by embarking on an affair. With two daughters to think of, she has moments of pure selfishness and even though she’s scaldingly self-honest too, I occasionally found myself irritated with her behaviour.
The author does a fantastic job with building the suspense here, sowing the seeds right from the beginning for the conclusion, but revealing information in carefully rationed tidbits, with a few red herrings for good measure, to keep the reader guessing right up until the end. This is a genuinely engrossing read and I’d definitely read more by this author. Five stars.
Disclaimer: I received a review copy of this book via NetGalley.
I thought the book was excellent. I couldn’t put it down and that does not happen very often.
Not a page turner easy to put down.
Loved this storyline and what a mystery!!!! Very hard to put down.
A beautifully written suspense novel . Tragic dark suspense worth reading
Unexpected ending. Thoroughly enjoyed it!
Elizabeth, a widow living on a farm outside Derry, takes her dog for a walk one hot June morning along a country road where she finds a young woman, dumped, barely clinging to life. “Warn them,” are her dying words. The story then picks up with the shockwave Clare’s death sends through her loved ones.
Expertly rendered, this story unpeels layers of truth and delusion with exquisite sensitivity to the ebb and flow of human beings’ relationships. A taut psychological thriller.
This was a great read! It’s told from more than one point of view – Elizabeth, the dog-walker that comes upon the dead body of Clare, and Rachel, a lifelong friend of Clare’s. Clare’s last words to Elizabeth set the wheels in motion as Elizabeth can’t get them out of her mind and believes that others will be next. Rachel is devastated by her friend’s murder and is determined to do whatever is necessary to bring the killer to justice. The way these women’s lives intersect is fascinating, and though they have their own agendas, they ultimately just want the killer to be caught. Through several twists the reader comes to find just how deeply everyone is connected by this horrible crime.
I’ve never read this author before, but I have a new favorite now! Her writing kept me thoroughly engrossed and I just couldn’t stop reading. It rises above your average thriller with well developed characters that you root for every step of the way. They are certainly not all likable people, but they are believable. No one should miss out on this book – it’s guaranteed to satisfy!
