Now a New York Times bestseller It’s been three years, twenty-five weeks, and five days since Isis Blake fell in love, and if she has it her way, it’ll stretch into infinity. Since then, she’s punched Jack Hunter–her nemesis-turned-maybe-something-more–in the face, survived a brutal attack by her mom’s abusive ex thanks to Jack’s heroics, and then promptly forgotten all about him.The one bright … about him.
The one bright spot for Isis is Sophia, the ephemeral girl who shares Isis’s hospital stay as well as a murky past with Jack. But as Isis’s memories return, she finds it harder and harder to resist what she felt for Jack, and Jack finds it impossible to stay away from the only girl who’s ever melted the ice around his heart.
As the dark secrets surrounding Sophia emerge, Isis realizes Jack isn’t who she thought he was. He’s dangerous. But when Isis starts receiving terrifying emails from an anonymous source, that danger might be the only thing protecting her from something far more threatening.
Her past.
The Lovely Vicious series is best enjoyed in order.

REREAD REVIEW 07/24/2018
This series has gotten so much better with this second installment. After reading the first book in 2016, it stuck with me. Which is saying a lot since contemporary books don’t tend to light my fire as much as a good fantasy or science fiction read. But this one stuck around. I finally decided to delve in and finish the series after a reread of the first book. I devoured the first book in one sitting, and this book was no different in that respect.
As I said in my review of the last book, this book is all about the characters. There is not much world-building, but enough to get the gist of where the characters are and what is going on in the story.
The characters are the reason that the reader is sucked into this story. The characters have really great development and they only get stronger as the series progresses. They have so much growth and I found myself falling in love with all of them. Even some of the side characters. (Knife Guy, anyone?)
The series plot really thickens in this book. It has a much more serious tone than the first book. So many things are brought to light, and there are lots of things that are creatively kept hidden to make the reader want more. While there were some things that I saw coming, there were definitely plot twists that I didn’t foresee. I couldn’t place the intentions of certain characters which made the read enticing and exciting.
This series has a lot of sensitive issues buried within. Topics such as rape, abuse, underage prostitution, self-harm, mental illness, PTSD, and more are present.
Overall, I am really liking this series. The characters really stick with you after reading. I would recommend this book to those that enjoy contemporary romance with a hate to love vibe. I wouldn’t only recommend this to a more mature young adult audience because of the sensitive issues that are presented. I can’t wait to see what happens in the final book!
ORIGINAL REVIEW 11/17/2016
I received an Advance Reader Copy at no cost from the publisher/author.
I am so addicted to this series! I don’t read many contemporary books because they don’t tend to hold my interest like a good fantasy, but this series is different. This series pulls the reader in and refuses to let go!
First off, I have to applaud the author for inclusing sensitive subject matter in her book. Diversity in books is something that I am on board for every time. I appreciate some of the serious issues represented in this book in particular- abuse and mental illness.
This series is different from any other contemporary books that I have read. This series is more raw. It is written in a way that I think portrays real life better than most literary contemprary works do. The dialogues are realistic for teenagers and very believable. I hate books that sugarcoat dialogues and make a young adult book sound like a Jane Austen novel.
I love the characters in this book. Isis is a very strong protagonist. I love her attitude and the way that she presents herself. She is hiding so much hurt underneath, but she doesn’t let it show. I adore Jack too. He puts on a hard face and keeps people at a distance, but he is very kind and has a softer side to him. Sophia is a new character that we get to see, and I honestly haven’t made up my mind about her yet. I kind of feel sorry for her.
The characters all experience a great deal of pain in this book. The plot is so much darker than Love Me Never was. The ending is so heartbreaking. I need to know what happens now! I don’t think that I can wait!
Overall, loved it! I seriously don’t know what I’m going to do with myself until the last book releases. If you love raw and gritty contemporary romances, then this is your jam. I recommend it thoroughly. Keep in mind the sensitive subject matter might be triggering for some.
Oh my goodness, these books! I need the rest of Isis and Jack’s story…I need it, desperately! The angst and heartache and craziness of this book has me on the edge!
Forget Me Always is the second book in the Lovely Vicious trilogy and once again Sara Wolf has left me on the edge of my seat! And as much as I want to know the rest of their story it will be so hard to let them go.
We were left hanging at the end of Love Me Never…so many questions and concerns, so many secrets to be revealed. FMA gives us some answers, but springs a lot of unexpected surprises on us that left me a bit flabbergasted! Ms. Wolf sure knows how to keep us on our toes.
I was really happy that we got a deeper insight into Jack in this book. He’s so intriguing and endearing- I just adore him and all his broodiness. Isis is still her humorous, snarky self. They are both such well developed characters, Sara Wolf really outdid herself when she created Isis and Jack.
While this book is as amusing and as entertaining as the first, it’s also darker and grittier. We see the how ugly and hateful teens can be, and what the consequences that hate and ugliness can bring about. So many things happened in this story that I was not expecting! Forget Me Always had my head spinning, my heart racing, and I was left speechless at the ending. Bravo to Ms. Wolf on writing such a completely engaging and captivating series!
This book was the best one in my life time and I don’t think any other will steal first place soon
