Is there ever a good reason to stand up your sweetheart on prom night? Because if there is, I have a second chance. And if not… then I’ll leave Gunner Ridge for good and resign myself to never loving a man again.Stepping up to my family responsibilities, I return to my childhood home and face every painful memory head-on. At the pinnacle of my anxiety is Blue Corrigan, who has grown into the … Corrigan, who has grown into the man of my dreams. Topped in a Stetson and kicking life as a rancher with his dust-covered cowboy boots, he’s my ultimate fantasy. But there’s one problem. He hates me. And so he should. I left eight years ago on the night of our prom with a justifiable reason that I couldn’t let him in on. And understandably he’s moved on.
Is there a place for me in his new life, or should I fulfil my family duties and then leave this small town forever?

Over the years, men that have made landmark achievements in different facets of life have often been celebrated with very little stories about bad ass women that have excelled in their respective positions. While there are some works that highlight the fantastic achievements of women in powerful positons, there is no particular project exclusively dedicated to celebrating the “girl power”.
The compilation contains short stories with the theme of Girl Power in whichever way the author defines it for herself and her readers. The 30 romance stories are narrated in a diverse yet entertaining and inspiring way and will be released in regular intervals throughout 2020.

Holy hot cowboy!! I loved this witty, steamy quick read. Josie had strength and attitude in spades, I loved that she never backed down from a challenge. And Blue…well what else is there to say besides smarta$$, sexy cowboy?? I wasn’t really surprised I got so hooked on Blue and Josie, I would love to read even more of their story. The entire town of Gunner Ridge was so intriguing, I wasn’t ready for this book to end!
Very well written
Full of heartbreak and resentment. Bad decisions and strong pull to forget about pain lead to hurting unwilling victim of lost love. I loved this short story, it was easy to read, emotional but still on the side where level of angst wasn’t disturbing. I was crying, I was smiling, I loved the ending which was very very sweet and harmless. Would gladly come back to this ranch to read more about the other characters.
Oh wow!! This book might be short but, boy! does it pack a punch! I loved every moment of this book and would recommend it to all!!

The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the chemistry between the characters.

Blue and Josie were teenage sweethearts with a bright future until disaster struck. She always knew that her parents were explosive together and when her father was on a tear it would be really bad for her mother. Josie’s father took pride in her work in his blacksmith business but on the night of prom Josie’s father went too far when he turned his angst. When Josie and her mother left town she also left Blue behind with very little explanation. Jose is now back in town after the death of her father tying up loose ends and the one person she doesn’t want to meet to soon is the very person she runs in to Blue. Even though Blue has a lot of pent up anger, he can’t seem to deny the feelings that spark when he is in Josie’s presence. Will these two get a do over or will it be to late for them to have a second chance.

This novella is the prequel to a new series called Studs in Stetsons. This great story is part of the Girl Power Romance Collection of stories. Josie left her small town home with no explanation to Blue. Now, after eight years, she returns and Blue is still there looking all grown up and more handsome than ever. Does Josie get a second chance with Blue? A great small town story with amazing characters. Definitely interested in reading more by this author and this series. Enjoy!

I loved this novella and the strong character depicted by Josie. She has dealt with too much in her life and handled everything. Can she handle seeing Blue again?
I read and reviewed this book with no obligation.
This is the story about high school sweethearts (Josie and Blue) who get separated through not fault of their own and eight years later reunite. As they continue to run into each other can the angry Blue ever forgive Josie for leaving him and take the future him had planned away.
It’s not often the woman is the one doing the leaving so it’s refreshing to see that here. There is a reason for it and there’s a lot of past hurts and scars that Blue and Josie have to get through but I am a sucker for second chances. There are secrets and pasts and some suspense and I couldn’t put this down.

Josie wants to settle the estate of her late father and move on with her life. Josie is the one who got away from Blue. This novella is a sweet second chance story. I received an ARC of this and volunteered to review it. I’m looking forward to reading the upcoming series.
Its nice when women are empowered & out of the norm when it comes to a job. This happens to Josie when her father dies leaving her his foundry business. She has to return to the small town both she & her mother left, the reasons we find out later in the story.
Of course she avoids Blue the boy she left behind but circumstances bring them back together again.
The attraction & chemistry is still there however they both dance around their issues at first but then make up for it. However it’s not an easy journey for them. As this is a novella it all happens rather quickly however don’t let that put you off as it is still an enjoyable read.

Blue and Josie will touch your hearts in this endearing story. They were teenage sweethearts with a bright future until disaster struck. Her father took pride in her work in his blacksmith business but on the night of prom Josie’s father went too far when he turned his angst on her causing her mother to uproot them from their home. In doing so she left behind her love Blue with very little explanation. Even though he has a lot of pent up anger, Blue can’t deny the feelings that sparks in Josie’s presence. Will they get a chance for a do over and make it to a happily ever after this time around?

Beautiful second chance love story
Forged in Love by Megan Hetherington is part of the multi-author The Girl Power Romance Collection series. I am loving this diverse series and getting to try new author.
This is a wonderful second chance with your first teenage love romance. It is romantic, has drama, turmoil, a whole lot of emotion and two young people who have always loved each other even though they were separated for years. Both main characters, Josie and Blue, are nicely written and fit together perfectly.
I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
The storyline was wonderfully written and the characters were so likable that Blue and Josie pulled me right into their journey as it flawlessly unfolded!
Loved the angst! Such great moments!
