It’s hard to be consumed by revenge when my heart feels like it’s breaking in two. A part of me is still in love with Miles. I think I always will be. He embodies everything I thought my life could be. Every hope and dream and wish. But I’m not the girl that he remembers. And I’d be lying if I said I haven’t started to fall for the New York City vigilante. He’s the only other person that knows … that knows what it’s like to live behind a mask. There’s a darkness in him that mirrors my own. He embraces my broken soul.
But I’m tired of all the secrets, masks, and lies. I don’t need a man to save me. I’m the superhero of my own story. And all I need to focus on right now is Don Roberts – a monster far worse than I ever imagined – before he unleashes the mafia on this city and ruins any chance I have at a new life.

DNF…..I really loved the first book but this one felt so dragged out and repetitive. I only got 35% of the way through. Summer kept on making dumb choice after dumb choice. I’m sorry but you mean to tell me after you’ve kissed a man and had sex with him you can’t tell the difference between him and another guy? Like girl you could see his eyes and his lips and you still couldn’t figure out that Eli wasn’t V. I’m not a huge fan of live triangles but I felt like we barley got anytime with either of them to have a strong enough connection. I knew that the vigilante was Miles from book 1 I don’t understand why we need 3 books dragging his identity out I think it would have been cooler exploring his identity as V and Miles and how it worked and how he got everything done. The story had a ton of potential. I liked the relationship between Miles and Summer when they were kids. I liked the plot I thought it was different and Unique. I really wanted to like it and finish it but I felt the bad out weighted the good.
Sadie was in trouble, not only was her heart conflicted but her mind was a mess. She no reviewlonger knows who she can trust, everyone is keeping secrets and now a new game is afoot. Don has found her. The life she thought she had is over, but if the latest threat is understood it isn’t just her life as Sadie in danger. Don is playing with her actual life, and in the end he always takes what is his.
Forged in Flame is the second book in Ivy Smoak’s Made of Steel series and just like the first, it was impossible to put down, a perfect sequel. I loved the characters, how they changed and grew and how I didn’t want to part from them for even a second as I watched their lives unfold and sometimes unravel. Filled with emotion, hardship, doubt, and love a journey for truth, survival, and healing has never been so entertaining. Book three is already on my kindle and I’m raring to go.

Forged in Flames by Ivy Smoak, book two of the Made in Steel trilogy. I’ve been trying to figure out what to put for this review but I’m still not sure. I was going to just copy my review of book one but I didn’t want to do that either.
ℎ ℎ , , ? . ℎ’ ℎ ℎ ℎ . ℎ ℎ ℎ. ℎ ℎ ℎ. ℎ ℎ ℎ. ℎ ℎ . ℎ , ℎ .
Although I liked the plot of book one and two and think the books had a lot of potential, I feel like the author has just had one too many genres and everything has gotten way to twisted and confusing. The most frustrating part for me is that the identity of the vigilante has STILL not been revealed but I know without a doubt exactly who it is and if Summer/Sadie really “loves” that person, I don’t understand how she can’t “feel” that it’s him.
As for the audio, Hart has done a great job of differentiating the female and male voices but again there are a couple of male characters with dialogue and those voices were very similar so if I zoned out for a minute or two of listening I would have to rewind to make sure I knew exactly which of the three guys that Summer/Sadie was talking to.
I’ve made it this far, and again I do actually like the plot so I’m going to continue on to book three and the conclusion of the Made of Steel trilogy.
The second book to the Made Of Steel trilogy is even better, more intense, action-packed and even more mysterious and unpredictable. I love the twists and the struggles and the bit of love triangle happening here. It adds to the story. Makes things intense and has me obsessed!
I haven’t had a trilogy that I thoroughly enjoyed in what it feels like ages. This one is awesome and I loved not knowing what is going to happen next. Ivy Smoak really did a phenomenal job with this plot and I am looking forward to reading more of her books.
Forged In Flames gets a MIND BLOWING FIVE EXPLOSIVE STARS!
UGH another cliffhanger I just can’t. So much hate, lies and betrayal. Now on to Carved in Ice.
I have mixed feelings about this book because while it was essential to read in order to understand Summer’s story, it wasn’t a book that I was anxious to finish. I did love the twists and mystery weaved throughout. I am still looking forward to reading the conclusion to the Made of Steel series.
So after reading this one, I realized summer is not crazy. Someone wanted her to start thinking she was obviously. This book along with the first was really addicting, so hard to put down.
The story itself was really great and the characters are likable even when they’re not meant to be. There is a lot of love sex triangle stuff going on, especially in this one.
This book deserves more than a three stars but I just could not do it. There is a lot of repetitive lines from each character, “He smiled out of the corner of his mouth” is the one most uses. Also, the cost of is kind of high. I do have the next book I’m going to read and hopefully, this one will be higher on the Stars.
I would recommend this to any mature 17 + reader. It is a book filled with suspense in romance.
What a great series! I could not wait to start the next book. Love the characters and the story wish it would continue.
It was a page turner. I am on the 3rd sequel. It sure hold my interest.
5 STARS !!!!!!!!
“You can. Remember what I told you? You can do this. You’re made of steel.”
Ivy Smoak continues to keep you on your toes with book two in the Made of Steele trilogy. I will tell you that you do discover somethings but you are still in the dark on who V is by the end of this book . Summer/Sadie really comes into herself in this book . I love her character, she truly is made of steel. You learn more about Eli , Miles and even more about V. I can not say enough good things about this book. The author of this series has a way of bringing you into a story like no other author I have read . I laughed , I cried and I even gasped a few times. Also she sure knows how to do an amazing cliffhanger.I HIghly recommend this story
Ivy Smoak, you are evil! Evil for giving me all these new questions, answering some of my old questions, but not answering any of my new ones!! And now I have to wait until next year for the next part!!
Forged in Flames picks up where Made of Steel left off. Sadie/Summer has so many new questions. She still doesn’t know who to trust, if she can trust anyone at all. And then when some answers are revealed, she’s even more confused. And she finds herself at the center of a storm where she’s in love with three different guys.
So why did it feel like a beginning whenever I was around Miles, Eli, and V? Maybe it was because I was starved for love. That’s why it was so hard to turn any of them away. I was lucky to have met each of them. A part of me could even imagine a future with each of them. I loved Miles because he reminded me of what it felt like to be whole. I loved Eli because he was proof that I could be loved despite being broken. And I loved V because he made me feel optimistic of a future, no matter how unrealistic it was.
She finds out just exactly who Eli is, falls a little bit in love with him. But then there’s V, she never finds out who he is, but she’s a little in love with him too. And then there’s Miles…oh swoony Miles, the boy she’s been in love with since she was 6, and is still in love with. And it seems like Miles is in love with her, too. But, how can he be when he’s still stuck in the past, still in love with Summer? As he says, “Because for my whole life, my heart has belonged to someone else. I couldn’t commit to anyone knowing that I wasn’t all in. A casual hookup can numb that pain, but that’s all it ever was.”
Forged in Flames is even better than Made of Steel. It takes all the suspense and unpredictability from Made of Steel, and amps them up. It’s just as fast paced and more suspenseful. It answers some questions, but proposes even more questions. The time is ticking down on Sadie and it looks as if she’ll never fight her way out of this cluster fuck that she’s found herself in, that Don has placed her in, even if she is made of steel as V thinks she is. “You’re stronger than you realize,” he whispered. “You’re made of steel, remember?”
Reading Forged in Flames is like watching an episode of Arrow, with all its suspense, action and intrigue. The cliffhanger about killed me, but I have faith that Ivy Smoak won’t let me down and all will be revealed soon!
