“We were virtual strangers, with our own issues and pasts, who believed we were being responsible, only to find out life had completely different plans that neither of us foresaw.”
Was anyone else surprised to see one Stephanie Keith reappear in the series, and as a main character at that? I was totally not expecting a book for Steph, but when it comes down to it she really is the perfect person for Nick so it makes total sense. Steph gets a lot of flack from people for being so open with her sexuality. It’s not that she doesn’t believe in love, because she does. She just isn’t willing to settle for anything less than the type of love that her parents had. And in the meantime she sees no reason not to have a little fun, until the right guy comes along. Nick on the other hand, has had a lot of blows dealt to him throughout his life and it has understandably made him relationship averse. Seeing him open up and open his heart in this book was truly amazing.
This is probably the most heart breaking book in this series, at least in my opinion. While the others have made me cry, this one legit made me sob. Don’t get me wrong there are some funny and sweet moments but there is something that happens that causes absolute anguish and left me heartbroken. Thankful Jen was able to put said broken heart back together, not that I ever had any doubts. This entire series is fantastic and I seriously recommend it to anyone that loves a good contemporary romance. Just be warned that there will be tears!
“Most people wouldn’t get it, probably wouldn’t even tolerate us, but together…we make sense.”
Forever With You is the fifth book in the Wait For You series and I just loved getting to reenter this amazing world. I was so excited to finally read Nick’s book and let me just say I wasn’t disappointed. I was just drawn into this story and I just loved getting to see some more of these amazing characters. I just didn’t want this story to end and I was immediately wanted more after turning the last page. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

I absolutely loved Steph! Who would’ve thought that after we met her in the first book in this series, I didn’t… but I really loved her. Mainly because she has a mouth on her, I marked so many sentences in those first couple of chapters. If Steph wasn’t the way she was in this book I probably would’ve not rated this book that high (there weren’t that many surprises and the plot was a bit obvious). Her feisty character really made this book for me. Enough about Steph, let’s talk about Nick. Man I did not like him at first, but slowly and surely I fell for him. I am so glad that Steph stands up to him and the banter between them is amazing. I loved how Steph learned to make new friends, and she could not have found better friends in Roxy and Katie. They are just amazing. There were some things that could’ve gone a bit better. Where I did not understand some of the actions that were taken (and I can’t say anything else because hey I am not going to spoil this book for you). Steph and Nick go through a lot in this book and yea you just have to read it for yourself!!

3.5 stars! These two have so much baggage, especially Nick. He didn’t do relationships, but he knew there was something about Stephanie. Stephanie didn’t do relationships either, but not for the same reasons. The beginning of the book felt very weird to me as they tried to navigate becoming a couple and be in a relationship. This book had elements of heartbreaking sadness and was also very cute. I loved the ending!!
I’m so conflicted about this book. While I ended up liking it more than I thought, I was strangely detached from both of these characters. I’m sure no one really cared all the much for Steph in the first two books of this series. So I was very hesitant to finally pick this one up. It really had to do with silent, broody Nick.
I feel that the author was trying to make us like Steph. She doesn’t apologize for the way she is and embraces the fact that she likes sex and likes to have a good time. I get it. Women should be able to have a fun time without getting a nasty label. So its not wonder that when she meets Nick that they end of sleeping together after their second meeting.
Nick and Steph are a lot alike. It what makes things with them work. Its clear Nick cares for Steph and that he can’t stay away from her. He’s very caring and the time spend together is cute. There are things that happen that bring them closer. I will say that this book is sad in a way the other books aren’t. I really felt for Steph at the end.
As much I wanted to give this book more stars I really just didn’t connect with the story or the characters. I felt strangely detached and I really wanted to love it. I understood that I probably wasn’t going to fall in love with it like I did the other books in this series. But damn. It was still a nice and enjoyable read.

Review:
How much do I love Jen’s book you ask? Well, I’ll answer that question for you, like so danm much. Each one is so amazing and even though this is the fifth book in the series. She still made it feel like something new. I didn’t know how she would write this story. It could be just like the others but she really put a twist to it. I haven’t read a book like this before. And while writing the book from a different angle she still kept the other characters in it, and gave it the same feel the entire series has.
What is this book about:
Well this book focuses on Steph (Stephanie). We met Steph for the first time in Wait for you. She is the girl that has a friends with benefit relationship with Cam. We also see her in Be with me when she helped Theresa after she found her roommate dead. But after that not so much.
So steph moves across the country so that she can work for a martial arts company. We know that Steph is far from being insecure about her sexual preferences. Some may call her a whore or a slut but I don’t feel like that. She is just a down to earth girl that likes sex and there is nothing wrong with that.
While moving into her new apartment she meets Nick. He helped her move a box after almost dropping it when trying to carry to much. At a bar ( the same bar that Jax owns in stay with me 😉 ) she sees nick again and the have a one night stand.
After a view days after the one night stand, Steph goes back to mona’s ( the bar ) and meets Roxy. After Nick sees her he kind of troughs a fit. He is telling her that she can’t be here, that they had an agreement. That he thought it would be a one time thing etc. Of course Steph doesn’t like this and tears him a new one. After that they kind of become friends of sorts. Only they will find out that there a small complication of sorts that will tie their futures together in a way they might not be ready for.
What did I love about this book:
I like Steph. I like how comfortable and confident she is in her own skin. I like her take on life and the way she lives. She is a strong girl.
I like nick but he can be a bit of an asshole. At least that what it seems in the beginning. Through out the story we learn that he is a sweet, caring and amazing guy. Who will do anything for the ones he loves.
I liked seeing the other characters throughout this book. I like seeing Jax and calla a bit in this book. Also liked seeing Avery and the crew a view times. I loved seeing Roxie more and ofcourse Katie. Katie is the extravagant stripper, who is just hilarious. I liked how Roxie and Katie welcomed Steph into town. And how their friendship developed. I also really loved how Nick’s character changed throughout this book. He is such an amazing guy.

4 1/2 I loved it Stars
This is a difficult review to write. I just reread the book description to determine how much information to talk about without giving away the plot. However, I realized this can’t be a spoiler-free post. The main plot point and what ties together the relationship between Stephanie and Nick is essentially a spoiler. So here’s the warning! SPOILERS!
Anyone who has been reading my blog knows I love books that make me cry. I’m sure there’s serious psychological reasons behind why I need to experience my emotions through books but this is not the time or place for that. Some of my favorite books are ones that make me sob like a baby. I have favorite books that I reread, knowing that I need a box of tissues next to me. When I discover a new book that makes me cry, it can make me ignore less desirable plot points and characters which would usually cause a lower rating. However, I truly think this book deserve a high rating and not just because it made me cry.
I’m still quite new to the New Adult genre. For a while, I put off reading it because it was too real. I was in college and was intimately familiar with the stresses and trials that go along with it. Reading has always been my escape and I didn’t want to read about problems similar to mine. Then, I slowly started to discover New Adult writers that pulled me into the genre like J.Lynn (Jennifer Armentrout) Cora Carmack, Sophie Jordan, and Erin McCarthy. It helped that I had read some of the authors in other genres. Sophie Jordan writes historical romance and Erin McCarthy writes contemporary and paranormal series which I’ve read. So the genre has familiar authors but just younger characters. Jennifer Armentrout’s Wait For You series has moved out of the New Adult genre a bit. This book and the one previous featured couples who had graduated college. They were in the real world, dealing with real jobs and bills and the stresses that go along with it. What I had initially disliked about the genre, i.e. sharing the same experiences as the characters, is now what I like about it. In this case, I freaked out along with Stephanie, and tried to imagine what I would do in her situation.
Okay, now for the spoiler. My second favorite plot point in romance novels, aside from making me cry, is the pregnancy trope. Ding, ding, ding, that’s the plot spoiler. While the description does hint at it, it doesn’t come out a say that the result of Nick and Stephanie’s one-night stand. Well, I guess the only options are pregnancy or a STD and the hero and heroine in romance novels do not get sexually transmitted diseases. That would be an interesting change in the genre though.
“We need to talk about that night.” She said into the phone, dreading that she needed to make this call to her one-night stand. It was supposed to be just that, a one-night stand. Completely consequence free. Until she started to feel sick. A trip to the doctor had confirmed her worst suspicions.
“What’s wrong?” His heart started to pound. Oh god, this can’t be happening, he thought to himself. We used protection. “Are you… pregnant?”
“I have chlamydia.”
Sorry, totally got side-tracked. And I barely talked about the relationship between Nick and Stephanie. While Nick was used to being the adult one, having to care for someone else, the discovery that she was pregnant was a shock and a life change for Stephanie. Their relationship bloomed from that shared experience. They decided first that they were going to keep the baby and then how their relationship would work. While there were still petty fights, their relationship came out stronger. While I did understand Stephanie’s reasons for wondering if Nick was just with her for the baby, it did bother me that she didn’t ask him. In the end, however, their relationship became stronger because of the trials they had to face together.
I did really like that there wasn’t a stigma on Stephanie for the one-night stand. She was a character who enjoyed sex and had decided that she didn’t need to be in a relationship to have it. It’s an extremely healthy and positive attitude and I liked that Jennifer Armentrout addressed the stigma of it. While Stephanie did feel awkward around Avery and Tess, whose boyfriends Stephanie had previously slept with, they welcomed her into the group and did not pass judgement on her. There needs to be more novels in which the heroine is not shamed for wanting a healthy sex life.
