This second chance romance introduces me to Hope Harbor and this wonderful Island family. When I say family i mean of blood and of the heart. We are quickly introduced to the Hope family which are not just a big family in size but also in heart as well. Drew is a doctor along side his friend Liam have a practice on the island and need a nurse. So Liam hires one…just so happens she broke Dr Drew’s heart 15 years ago when she left him for someone else in college. Life is never exactly what it looks like from the outside and Drew has to find out for himself the story that April has led to bring her back to the island with her daughter Tilly and son Leo. This book does have some issues about domestic violence in it so if it is a trigger for you please be aware about that. Our author has written a book that touched me deeply on so many levels and I can not say how much it called to me. I had to start on the next book s soon as this book was finished…
I just finished reading Forever This Time by Ann B. Harrison. This story is book #1 in the 5-book Hope Harbor series. The story centers around the second chance at love for childhood friends April Williams, and Dr. Andrew Hope. In the past, they were inseparable young lovers, but the stresses of medical school derailed their best intentions. April married a soldier, and they had a daughter, Tilly and a son, Leo. Tragedy rose up when her husband succumbs to PTSD,
becomes abusive toward April, addicted to drugs, and finally commits suicide.
April does the best that she can, determined to give her children a better life. She finally decides to return to her homeplace, the island of Hope Harbor. Many of her happiest times were there. Her childhood had been made great… not by her parents, but by Drew, and his family. His family now welcomes her and her children with that same love. Drew is blindsided by April’s return. He’s still hurting from their breakup 15 years earlier. Joy occurs, but so do complications. Will April and Drew be able to reclaim that same love that once burned true?
The beauty of this story is in the detail. The author vividly describes everyday life that invests the reader to the story. A teenage girl recovering from bad burns. A little boy gathering beach treasures. An island patriarch who will absolutely support the people he loves. A young couple, monetarily poor, but overflowing with hope because of a newborn baby. I adored the supporting characters. Each one brought an incredible wealth of color to this story’s literary rainbow. Drew’s father Atticus, Aunt GiGi, sister Aggie, brothers Matt and Arlo, Drew’s business partner Liam, patient Cora, new parents Sally and Paul Frasier, friend Bradley, and his dog Rocket. This book would be a perfect “beach” read, or in 2020, perfect if you are missing the beach!
April and Andrew’s love story in Forever this Time by Ann B. Harrison, book 1 in the Hope Harbor series, is a second chance trope as well as intriguing, sexy, and enjoyable tale. After the death of her husband and with the harassment of her in-laws April returns to Hope Harbor; the only place she ever felt safe. In order to support herself and her two young children April takes a job as a nurse at the clinic owned by Drew, her first love. Dr. Drew Hope never forgot his childhood sweetheart; but as a doctor on the small island where they grew up he acts as if he’s moved on with his life and forgotten about her. Working along-side her, living near her, getting to know her children, spending time with her, is definitely a test of his patience, memories and feelings. After being in a difficult marriage April is not sure she is ready, or wants, a second chance at love; even though she knows Drew loves her and treats her like a queen.
Ms. Harrison wrote a fun, second chance romance that should not be missed. She provided a tale rich with emotions, sexual chemistry, humor, wonderful dialogue, and endearing characters giving April and Drew a second chance at a forever love. I highly recommend Forever this Time to other readers and look forward to the next book in this series.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
nn B. Harrison brings us a lovely second chance love story. Drew Hope and April Williams grew up as buds and then lovers on the small island of Hope Harbor. April had a horrible home life and escaped to the Hope family home. But the Hope family was not without its own tragedy, when Drew’s mother died after giving birth to his sister. When Drew was in medical school, he was overwhelmed, neglected April and she left him for a marine. Fifteen years later she is now a widow with two children and has come back to Hope Harbor so her children can grow up on the island. Drew has never gotten over her, but although she still loves him, she is carrying around secrets, guilt and too many reservations about ever having another relationship with a man- even her best friend.
Wonderful characters and heartwarming story with humor and drama, ups and downs, just like in real life. I read an ARC from the author. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.
This is the first in the Hope Harbor series set on an island of the coast of Seattle and a beautiful second chance romance, that has all the feels for a true romance, there are a few ups and downs before native islanders Drew Hope and April Williams get their chance at love the second time around and forever this time.
April Williams has arrived back to Hope Harbor after marriage filled with problems that have left her feeling unsure but one thing that she is sure of is making a safe and happy home for her two beautiful children Tilly and Leo. She applies for a job as nurse manager in the local hospital clinic and runs straight into her first love Dr. Andrew Hope and it is not long before she know what she always did that she had never stopped loving him.
Drew Hope came straight back to the island after his studies and has worked hard to get over April and the way she left him, but one look at her and memories come to the surface leaving him re-thinking what he wants out of life and with the help of his father and aunt and siblings it is not long before he is doing his best to re-kindle their love, if only he can get her to open up about what happened to her life after marriage.
This is a lovely small town romance that had me turning the pages, the Hope family are such loveable people and re-open their arms to April and her children when she returns, I loved getting to know Drew and Hope they were always meant to be forever just with a little turn in their path and now they are back together and more in love than ever. I loved this one and am looking forward to getting to know the other members of the family, I have no hesitation of recommending this story, thank you MS Harrison.
Forever This Time is a fantastic second chance love story. Drew and April were friends and lovers until she left Hope Harbor and married another. Fifteen years later, she returns with her two children, Tilly and Leo. The Hope Family was there for April in the past and they’re there for her now, except for Drew. Liam, Drew’s business partner and fellow doctor, hires April as their nurse. Drew doesn’t react well to that fact. Can these ex-lovers put aside their differences and work together? Will April be able to provide a stable environment for her kids, after what they’ve been through? Grab your copy and get ready to fall in love with Hope Harbor.
