Memory is immortality’s curse.MilesIf there’s one thing I’ve learned after more than five hundred years on this earth, it’s that history always repeats itself, and usually in the worst way possible. So when Delilah checks in to my hotel, all the signs are there—she’s stunningly beautiful, achingly irresistible, and as history has taught me, one-hundred percent dangerous. The last time I took a … one-hundred percent dangerous.
The last time I took a chance like this, it broke my heart and almost cost me my immortal life. I’ve managed to survive all these years by heeding the warnings my instincts raise. Ignoring them now feels foolish and short-sighted, but I can’t stay away; she’s everything my soul wants, history be damned.
Delilah
With my mother’s ashes riding shotgun, and my loser ex-boyfriend passed out in our trailer in my rear view mirror, I am finally free. I’ve had enough of being told what to do and how to live. It’s time for me to take charge of my destiny on my terms and see what fate sends my way. When I stop in Lake Tahoe and Miles crosses my path, it feels like fate is testing me to see if I will throw myself into the arms of the first guy I meet—just like I always do.

New to me author and I am now a fan. Corinne O’Flynn be on the look out for me following you everywhere…
This book is a stand-alone just like the other 10 books in the Midnight Coven’s Vampire Brides. This story follows Delilah as she escapes from an abusive relationship with her now ex boyfriend, with the intention to release her mother and mothers fiancé’s ashes and a new start in life. But things are not to be that easy, while staying at Nightbird Cabins in Lake Tahoe she runs in to Miles.
Miles has lived for over 500 years, he has lived a quiet life at the Nightbird Cabins away from other vampires, and not killing humans, except hunters but that’s only after giving them time to reconsider for trying to kill him. Miles thought he had meet his mate in his past that didn’t end well and still haunts him today, which makes it hard for him to trust.
I loved these two characters and the story about the obstacles and hurdles they have to overcome to trust one another. Forever Still is a second chance for love vampire romance.
It was so great to see mentions of Collum from Forever Blood by Lisa Manifold, I really enjoyed reading his story and to have him make an appearance in this book was wonderful.
2nd Chance
Another quick read from the series, Vampire Brides.
So far I am enjoying the series and hope that its not the last that of them
The story shows that there is nothing wrong in risking and taking a chance in life. The story may be predictable but it is worth the read.

Forever Still by Corinne O’Flynn is one of eleven novels in the Vampire Brides Books. This is a stand alone story about an abused human woman named Delilah who is running away from her abusive ex-boyfriend and a vampire named Miles. Miles has also suffered abuse from something terrible that occurred long ago in his life. What happened before still greatly affects him. In this novel, two needy people find one another and get a second chance at love as forever mates. I loved these two characters and the story about the obstacles they have to overcome to trust one another. In my opinion, this is an excellent addition to any paranormal reader’s bookshelf. Forever Still is a second chance for love vampire romance.
Forever Still is a well-written novella with intriguing characters. Miles and Delilah are each dealing with heartbreak for different reasons but they are meant to be together. I love the way the Miles’ heart beats for Delilah and when he sees her the first time he knows she’s his mate. I loved this beautiful tale of love and I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in the Vampire Brides series.
I really enjoyed this book. I was hooked from the beginning and couldn’t put it down. A great short read that’s well written with great characters. Definitely recommend this book.

Having lived 200 years with no coven, when vampire Miles confronts the hunter in the woods, he prefers talking to him to killing him outright! When the hunter finally pulls out a silver stake, Miles moves at high speed, faster than the man can focus, grabs the stake, places a small twig in the man’s hand to replace the stake, and stands in front of him again, holding the weapon as the astonished man finds himself holding a tiny twig! The man turns and runs while Miles leisurely hides the stake and the man’s discarded bag. Then Miles follows and kills the hunter, making it look like an accident as he drops the body over the scenic stop where the man’s jeep is parked. More and more hunters seem to be around lately and he wonders if there is a new vampire hunter’s club or something encouraging this. As he stood there, his thoughts went back to 200 years ago when his heart started to beat – the night he met Hannah, his true mate, the one he had to kill.
Delilah Cecelia Elizabeth Rae Worthington studied hard and became a nurse. But her mother’s mistakes had provided poor role models for boyfriend material, and so she was seeing Earl. He back-handed her so hard in the face that she spun around before she collapsed. She heard her dead mother’s voice telling her to leave and not live like this anymore. So after the beating and when she served him dinner, she drugged his beer, packed her belongings in the car, and left that life behind.
Needing to stretch her legs after 8 hours of driving, Delilah pulls over at a scenic spot where an empty jeep is parked. She sees no one around. But the view is so pretty that she decides she will come back here with her paints and capture some of the beauty. Then she drives on to the hotel. They have cabins for privacy, and a lovely view of the lake. At last she is finding the peace and goodness she needed.
Miles cannot find sleep as he tosses and turns and relives his experience with Hannah so long ago. He hears the beating of his heart and wishes he could forget the loss of his one true love. His hand touches his chest and he almost feels his heart beating – and in horror, he realizes that it truly IS beating!
Delilah slept through most of the day, waking up with the aches that Earl had inflicted on her. Her cell phone buzzes and she returns her friend, Jessie’s, call. Earl had shown up at the ER where Delilah worked looking for her in a rage. He had left 23 messages on her phone and 16 missed calls. Delilah asked Jessie to clean out her locker and told her she would not be coming back.
As soon as the sun is down, Miles races to the hotel to see who checked in and he realizes Delilah is his mate! Seeing the bruise on her face infuriates him. Does he dare try to tell her what he is and hope she will accept him? Could she be another Hunter sent to kill him? Will Earl track her down and put her life in danger?
It’s always fun to see what skills and abilities a paranormal will have. Each author interprets those a little differently, like the way a vampire’s dead heart will beat in synch with his true love in this story. I enjoyed meeting the characters in this book – except for Earl. But all were depicted well by the author so the reader knew their personalities and sort of what to expect. Grab your copy and see what the future is bringing to each one.
This is a novella about a vampire and his potential mate. Miles has spent over 500 years as a vampire. He lives alone because his mate turned out to be vampire hunter and he had to drain her life to protect himself. He believed he would only find one woman in his lifetime that would get his heart to beat. But that changes when after hundreds of years when he suddenly begins to feel his heart beating again.
This is part of a series of novellas encompassing vampires and their mates. When a vampire finds his mate, their heart begins to beat along with the human and continues as long as the human is alive. Each novella is authored by a differ writer, so they all have a slightly different feel. I enjoyed this story because the characters had to overcome nightmares from their past if they were ever get together. If you enjoy vampire romances be sure to pick this one up.

Finding love after betrayal
Delilah is finally leaving her abusive relationship. She’s packed up her car and getting away. Miles found his mate but her betrayal ended that when he had to end her. Now he has to get past the doubts that creep in when he encounters Delilah and his heart starts beating in time with hers. She has to get past the fact that he’s a vampire. Good story. I’m enjoying the Vampire Brides stories.
Loved Delilah and Miles! It didn’t take long for Delilah to decide what she wanted, especially when she was running from her past. Poor Miles, I felt for him and was relieved when he realized Delilah was it. I like the mention of Collum from Forever Blood too! Love that there was an epilogue too.

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Forever Still by Corrine O’Flynn is a stand alone read and part of the Vampire Brides Anthology. This is my first Corrine O’Flynn read and I really enjoyed it. This is a quick read that is packed with emotion and drama. (Trigger Warning: There are fleeting scenes of Physical Abuse.) Miles and Delilah’s story is a fast paced, heart strengthening story about the left turns life can take and appreciating unexpected gifts. I have read other stories from this anthology and highly recommend them all! Forever Still will have you craving more…
