Fabulous I always love TerraMates it based on the same in every book then WATCH OUT. I want a Alien.
Holly Flex is a wenty-eight years old human preschool teacher, from Portland, Oregon. Being 3all alone was heart breaking after her parents died so last week she applied at TerraMates.
Zak’hoth Alfans aka: Zak is an Alien Assassin, with dark blue skin, midnight blue hair and golden eye. He was born on the Planet Il’im. On the highest paying mission of his life time but he runs into problems after problem. Now he’s really screwed having to sign his life away only to find another that he’s been searching for a lifetime.
Ms. Lace’s TerraMates series always provides me with what I truly enjoy…. a wonderful story with great characters. Zak and Holly were perfect together. She helped Zak to be a better man. This book is going on the keeper shelf to be read again and again.
*I received an Advance Reader’s Copy of this book which I am voluntarily reviewing*
I liked it. This has a very good plot. Assassin from Il’im with an assignment to find and return a kidnapped child prodigy. He needs a temporary fake wife. But his fake wife from earth turns out to be his forever mate. The H/h characters are great. They have spunk, are moral and have a conscience. There were so many villains after the prodigal child. They wanted to control his intelligence for nefarious reasons. All evil. There was one villain that surprised me towards the end. The child himself has never had a normal childhood. I felt sad for that. But our hero Zak and our heroine Holly helps the child Nys to recognize his true freedom to be a child. That was a real feel good moment. An overall good story. I enjoyed reading it. I received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I felt like this story was well written.
I was able to identified with the story plot.
Holly and Zak was interesting to be able to read these too and how they ended up together.
This book was overall good.
If u are someone that likes reading scfi romance then this book is for u.
I also liked that fact that this book can be read as a standalone and no cliffhanger.
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy and my opinion are my own.
Holly and Zak
What started out to be bounty paying job turned out to be an opportunity of a lifetime.
Zak, I am good at what I do and it has been lucrative over the years but now I want something more.
Little did I know my life was about to change..
Holly now that my family is gone I am ready to start building me a new family with a husband and kids.
Signing that contract was supposed to be fulfill my dream but it may not be possible.
This is another fantastic read in the TerraMates reads.
This one is completely deferent from the others .
This one seems to be set in our time and not in the future.
Zak is an Assassin who is hired to get Nyk back and kill the two
people who kidnap him. Zak finds out he will need to be married
to get on the station where Nyk has been taken to . He got in control
with TerraMates to find a wife so he can get his job done.
That is how Holly gets involved and ends up married to Zak.
If you like books with plenty of action and romance and characters
that seem to come alive on the pages than this is definitely one you
are going to love.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
Zak is good at what he does and what he does is kill people for money. He has made a good living at it and, at least initially, he was confident in taking out the bad guys but as the years have passed he has let the lines get blurred and has not listened to his instinct that not everything his bosses tell him is legit. When he gets hired to recover a kidnapped child the payoff is too good to pass up, the only thing is they are holed up in a placed called the Haven where only married men are able to get in. He then arranges to marry a human, intending for it to be a marriage of convenience only as he has pledged to marry the daughter of a very important man on his home world. A major spanner gets thrown in the works when Holly walks down the aisle it turns out she is his forever mate, something he had always wanted but given up hope of ever finding. What follows is a feat of brilliant writing with characters (including a way too human, snarky AI) that are well-crafted with huge personalities. The Haven is definitely not all its cracked up to be, it definitely had a kind of Stepford’y vibe to it where everything was a little too structured, a little too perfect and it hides a dark and sleazy underbelly. Can Holly convince Zak that killing isn’t always the answer or will he be proved right and the people she thinks she can trust are the true bad guys and can they build a future together with his past being what it is? The story kept me engaged from start to finish and didn’t want the book to end.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Forever Mate: A Science Fiction Alien RomanceKindle Edition
by Lisa Lace
I received an eARC from the author and am choosing to leave an honest and fair review.
Curling up under a blanket with a venti White Chocolate Mocha and a Lisa Lace book on a cold, wet Oregon winter day is a true treat! Forever Mate really falls into the category.
I enjoy the TerraMates series. And this book was no exception. However I was a tad confused. All of the other books, starting with Water World Warrior, all take place in the future. FM takes place in what appears to be modern day Portland (note to all: Native Portlanders don’t know what a rain coat is!) because there are a number of modern references.
Barring that confusion, I love our villain, Zak. He reminds me a bit of the Sentella’s Nyk, both being assassins with a heart. A heart he never expected to give away to his Forever Mate as he was well past the age when most of his people find the other halves for themselves. He is more interested in making enough credits to retire. He is met with a contract that would do just that and include a marriage to a high ranking female. His goal? Find and return a genetically engineered child genius. In order to do this, he needs a temporary wife. This is where our TerraMates crew comes in. They match him with Oregon preschool teacher, Holly. The female that is his other half, his Forever Mate.
I loved Holly, because I truly identified with her! I was a nanny, a preschool teacher and a kindergarten teacher in Portland and Clackamas, Oregon! That is until I decided that while I loved the children, I hated the parents! I also found my Forever Mate while I taught and remain married to him 28 years later!
This story has it all – love, passion, femme fatales, a cult seeking a 1950’s existence, and child in jeopardy.
Ms. Lace’s writing in this field is unmatched. She is able to draw all these threads together deftly with passion and fun. Her characters are fleshed out and almost 4th dimensional. The few love scenes are sexy without dipping into overdone. Erotic without being hilarious. The villains are great. Fight scenes are exciting.
A HEA, a love for the ages and a hero with a dark side finding his light in his destined mate.
