Forever In A Moment
(Deerbourne Inn)

This sweet holiday romance is magical. I became easily lost in the pages of the story and fell in love with the main character’s. There were several different spots where I shed tears. I couldn’t help it as I crossed my fingers for one of sweetest HEA’s that I’ve read.
I hope that a few of the other character’s who are close to Jed and Sam from Willow Spring’s have a book of their own in the future. I would like to read them to see what their special HEA turn out to be.
From the first page, Ms. O’Shay held me captive with her fast-paced beautiful romance story. I curled up on a rainy day and didn’t move from my comfy position until I finished the story. I fell in love with Jed and Samantha’s story. My heart broke for Samantha at the beginning. Yet she pushed forward and found true happiness (and love) in the most unexpected town. And Ms. O’Shay, I want to learn how to ski, but only if I can have Jed as an instructor. Well done!
Author O’Shay has a unique talent with her ability to create a gorgeous setting, infusing humor at every turn, and developing strong, inspiring characters. A welcome addition to the Deerbourne Inn series.

With just two weeks away from her wedding, Samantha’s fiancé breaks up with her. In one fell swoop, her organized life turns into complete chaos. She needs a break from it all and at the urging of her girlfriends and her parents, she decides to go to Deerbourne Inn and celebrate her honeymoon alone. She does what any tourist does and gets ski lessons. Her instructor, Jed, makes her pulse thrum and the attraction is mutual. But she’s only staying until New Year’s and has to figure out what she wants to do with the rest of her life. The more time she spends around Jed, the harder it will be to say good-bye. Could this quaint little town be where she belongs or is Jed just a rebound?
Forever in a Moment is a wonderful story about falling in love and figuring out what you want out of life. It’s also a new take on the city versus small town trope. From the first page, I instantly connected with Sam. Her fiancé broke it off with her to go back to an old flame and while the rejection is hard for Sam to rectify, he did her a favor. He forced her to take a hard look at herself and what she wants out of life.
The romance between Sam and Jed is swift yet realistic. The attraction is instant yet there’s still obstacles between them. As they get to know one another, past hurts reveal themselves. Sure, Sam pushes Jed away but instead of pushing back, Jed continues to care for her. There’s plenty of swoon-worthy scenes as they work through their issues.
The writing can be summed up in three words: intoxicating, emotional and irresistible. Once I started reading, I couldn’t stop. I ended up reading it all in one sitting.
If you’re looking for a romance with real characters all set in a quaint small town, pick up Forever in a Moment today. Another great installment in the Deerbourne Inn series.
Favorite Character/Quote: He plows a hand through his hair then captures my gaze with his and I can’t look away. “What’s happening is us. We’re happening. This is our beginning. You and me together. I’d started to think it would never happen. But it did. When I saw you that first night…I knew. And you did too.”
My Rating: 5+ stars
As a city gal who loves Vermont, this book had me at hello! I read it NYE weekend, sitting in a renovated barn, in front of the fire, first with coffee…and later in the day, with wine because I could not put this book down. I looked out the window to see a horse drawn carriage and asked myself, am I in this story? I am a sucker for love and happy endings and loved being on Samantha’s and Jed’s journey. It gives one hope so if you need a good “happy” fix, Forever In A Moment is for you! Great, fast read. AND, special bonus are the recipes in the back of the book-so good!
Loved this book. I read it at a time where we are experiencing so much turmoil in our country yet O’Shay was able to bring me back to a place where true love and the little things in life mean the most.
So stinking cute.
I absolutely adored Sam right off the bat. She has such a fun and unique voice that I can’t help but root for her as she stumbles through the surprises fate throws at her. As a character, she was easy to relate to, and her inner reflection episodes were a hoot.
Jed was perfect for her. While she ran, he pursued, and he was never one to give up that pursuit because he knew exactly what he wanted.
Another great addition to the Deerbourne Inn series, one that I finished in less than a day. If you love small town romances with great characters and a romantic setting, then this is the perfect book for you.
FOREVER IN A MOMENT is a fun, fast-paced romance in a location (a beautiful, snow-covered inn in Vermont) where I’d love to live! With vivacity, humor, and heart, Ms. O’Shay pulls us into the story of Samantha DeMartino and Jed Armstrong. They’re two souls who’ve waited for each other, even though their conscious selves were unaware of it. When destiny lends a hand, there’s only one thing to do: fall into a deep, everlasting love. I highly recommend it!
This is a great feel good book you can curl up with on a lazy afternoon and devour. Sam is rocked to her core when her fiancé breaks up with her two weeks before the wedding. She knows she didn’t love him and was only doing what was expected of her (to marry) as she had done her entire life. She goes on the honeymoon alone to a quaint inn in Vermont and begins to find her true self after being rescued from the side of the road in a big snow storm by handsome, moody Jed on her arrival. Jed also happens to be her ski instructor and sparks fly. Is this a rebound reaction? Sam is questioning her vocation and her sanity. Jed has his own story too, but he’s a self proclaimed introvert so you’ll have to read and get his story.
I loved this fast-paced romance! It was filled with humor, realistic and complex characters, and best of all a theme of second chances and carpe diem. Ms. O’Shay writes clever dialogue and sharp prose. I loved the gruff hero and his brilliant blue eyes. I haven’t gone skiing in a while, but if this hot hero was the instructor…well…perhaps I’d need a lesson. I highly recommend this fun, quick read to escape for a few hours.
Taking a break from the pressures of the city, and whisking yourself away to a snow-covered inn located on the edge of a small and picturesque Vermont town. Man oh man, this sounds like a dream vacation, doesn’t it? There’s just one little problem. This was actually supposed to be Samantha’s honeymoon. Her fiancé, make that ex-fiancé, broke up with her just a few weeks before their wedding because he fell in love with somebody else. Then on the drive up to this snowy retreat Samantha’s car runs out of gas. In the middle of a snow storm. Which she has to trudge her way through in the dark in order to find said snow-covered inn. Mkaaayyy, so make that a butt-load of problems rather than one little problem. I guess this doesn’t sound like the dream vacation after all! However, to be rescued in the midst of said trudge through a snow storm by a sexy, dashing, muscular local dairy farmer/ski instructor? Well…Samantha might just have a bit of Christmas luck following her after all!
Now, I know what you’re probably thinking. This woman was just jilted by a fiancé she had every intention of marrying up until just a matter of days ago, how can she already be falling in love with someone new? Talk about a short mourning period for an engagement that lasted for several years. You also can’t help but wonder if this connection with Jed is the real deal, or if she’s simply on the rebound following a painful break up. The beauty of this time away from the hustle and bustle of her regular routine is that it allows Sam to look back on her previous relationship with her ex, Ben, and realize that her seemingly perfect life wasn’t as perfect as she had initially led herself to believe.
In the peace and quiet of this small town Sam comes to the startling conclusion that back in New York she was stuck in a rut in almost every aspect of her life. She’s always had a strong relationship with her parents, but realizes that she came to work in their law firm immediately after graduating from law school because it was the easy and expected route for her to take. This path of least resistance was also true when it came to her relationship with Ben. Their romance made sense. He was handsome, hard working, and in a similar line of work as her mother. Why wouldn’t they end up together? When she looks back on this though she realizes that what they had wasn’t necessarily love. They fell into a relationship of convenience.
At one point during Sam’s reflection of the weeks leading up to her wedding and honeymoon, she wearily admits that she didn’t even look upon it with excitement, but rather it “…was more like a finish line I was determined to cross. More like an obligation.” Prior to this moment, Sam never really had the opportunity to question if this life path she was following was one she actually wanted, because on the surface it seemed like something she should want. Only when Ben left her did she finally have a chance to look back at the decisions and dissatisfactions of her life and realize that she’s never really decided anything for herself. She just sort of fell into what made sense. Now she can figure out what she really wants out of life. Previously she’d always seen her future in New York, working with her parents. But now? Maybe now she has the chance to do something different with her career. Maybe now she has the chance to uproot herself to a little snowy Vermont town. With a new man on top of it.
Samantha’s engagement may have just ended in a somewhat embarrassing fashion, and she may have just met the handsome town local in the midst of a terrible snow storm, but she can’t deny that the mere presence of this man fills her with butterflies. She quickly comes to the realization that what she feels for Jed isn’t simply physical attraction, and that if she had come to this serene inn with her fiancé as originally planned she still would have realized that her connection with Jed was significantly stronger than what she ever felt for Ben. As the two spend more time together on the slopes and on his family’s dairy farm the simmering sexual tension between them continues to grow.
However, the logical part of her brain continually questions if it’s worth pursuing this immediate attraction she feels for him. Aren’t things moving too fast? She just met this man after all, and she was engaged to another man just a few weeks ago. But then another character asks her a very important question, “Is there a timetable for falling in love?” Sure, things are moving quickly between Sam and Jed, and she’s heading back to New York in simply a matter of days, but why should she delay the possibility of joy? Sam remains wary about the possibility of opening herself up to heartbreak once again. A one-night stand with Jed would certainly satisfy both of their desires, but also has the potential to open a Pandora’s box of emotional hurt when she must inevitably return to the city. The prospect of letting Jed into her life so quickly and so fully terrifies Sam to her core, but he just might be worth taking a chance on.
All life is turned upside down when he calls off the wedding, she thinks it is all she to his ex coming back on the scene. Her friends tell her to go on the honeymoon on her own so she goes. Will it change her life? Will she find someone to live instead? See what will happen

Nice quick read for a busy holiday time read.
When Samantha’s fiancee calls off the Christmas wedding two weeks before it’s planned date she decides to go on her prepaid honeymoon anyway, alone.
Dashing through the snow is one way of putting it as she’s stranded on the road a short way from the Vermont, Deerbourne Inn in a blizzard.
The week she spends at the ski lodge goes better than this workaholic expects when she meets a handsome man who turns out to be her ski instructor.
The chemistry between Samantha and Jed is instant. They make a nice couple but he’s not about to let her go after the one week, he wants a forever with her.

Are you looking for a little Christmas cheer? Then pick up a copy of Forever in a Moment by Charlote O’Shay. This is a quick-paced read that takes place in small town Vermont, where the townsfolk are friendly, welcoming, and full of holiday spirit.
Samantha DeMartino’s finance dumped her two weeks before their planned Christmas wedding. Apparently, his former sweetheart stole his heart all over again. With Sam’s extremely logical and highly organized life in shambles, she decides to get out of Manhattan and go on her honeymoon alone. She is hopeful that a week at the Deerbourne Inn in snowy Vermont will help her to clear her head. Little did she know that the man of her dreams, dairy farmer Jed Armstrong, would turn out to be her savior and soulmate.
The minute Jed saw Sam he knew she was his one and only, which was odd because he has not dated in a very long while. When he lost his older brother, he and his family were never the same. As a result, he threw himself into his family’s farm in order to keep his mind occupied. Teaching Sam to ski is fun, and kissing her is even more exciting. Within a week, they are madly in love.
I really enjoyed this story. The characters are well-developed and easy to get to know. Sam and Jed are quite passionate and their sexy times are hot. Overall, a solid read.

In this Deerbourne Inn series novella, jilted bride Sam DeMartino goes to Willow Springs on her honeymoon, alone. She needs time to clear her head and figure out what’s really important to her, but never expects a gorgeous, blue-eyed stranger to help her out in a blizzard.
Jed Armstrong knows Sam is the woman for him; the connection between them is instant and hot. She’s determined to go home to NYC, however, but he’s not about to let her get away.
Sam and Jed are likable characters. They’re both smart but confused, living in a rut.
The story is told predominantly from Sam’s first-person POV, and only two scenes are in Jed’s POV but I would’ve liked more. I love how Ms. O’Shay incorporated some of the series-stock townsfolk. Jared, the receptionist at the inn, was Sam’s close friend and confidant, and Karla was a rival of sorts, but I never did understand why she disliked Sam so much. There are a few minor typos, but I enjoyed the story and I’m happy I read it.

I adore this book! Forever in a Moment starts with Samantha being dumped by her fiance two weeks before the wedding. Her two best friends convince her to go on the trip to Vermont that her fiance had booked and paid for, so Sam sets off from New York to Vermont in what turns out to be one of the historic New England snow storms. Of course complications ensue culminating in the SUV that Sam has rented running out of gas 2 miles from the Inn where she is staying late at night in the middle of the storm. Undaunted, Sam starts walking, to be rescued by Jed and delivered to the Inn.
Jed gets her SUV to the Inn and Sam is able to go to her Nordic skiing lesson – taught by Jed. Sam finds that everyone in the small town of Willow Springs knows who she is and what happened to her, and she keeps running into Jed. The attraction between Jed and Sam is surprisingly strong. Jed is comfortable with the connection but Sam keeps telling herself that she is having a vacation fling until she can not.
I really like these characters – both are warm caring human beings. Jed has been through tragedy and has matured because of it. Being jilted forces Sam to really look at her life – she realizes that she does not like her job working for her dad, that she was not really attracted to her ex-fiance and she had been doing what her parents wanted instead of figuring out life for herself. The author does a great job of showing how Sam grows and opens up to her full potential. Sam and Jed do get their happy ending, and their story left a smile with me.

Part of the Deerbourne Inn series and I will say do not start this book at bedtime I could not put it down once I started reading it. Samantha DeMartino and Jed Armstrong’s story will make you believe in love, but there is heartbreak in this story as well. Especially about Jed’s brother. This is the first book by this author and I loved it. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Jed knows that Sam is his one and only. Even though Sam is supposed to be on her honeymoon, when she meets Jed , she knows he’s her one and only too. But the stubborn woman puts them on a merry journey before their HEA.

A city girl and a reclusive farmer could have a shot at forever if they try. Sam’s fiance got “cold feet” and call off the wedding for an old flame. Her friends convince her to take her honeymoon as a solo trip to a cozy Vermont Inn. On the way to the inn, her car runs out of gas in a storm and she decides to brave the weather and walk to it. Jeff happens to drive by and gives her a ride to the inn. The air sizzles when they are in the same room but they are wary of any connection and outside things have an impact too. I fell hard for this book, the characters, and the beautiful town.

What a sweet, delightful story! It grabbed me right away and sucked me into the snowy Vermont world of small-town living. Great, realistic characters that you can get easily identify with. Through the ice and snow, love heats up for Sam and Jed. Pleasantly refreshing tale of finding what makes you happy and grabbing it with both hands.
