A Canadian Amish farmerA Lancaster Amish businesswomanA Prince Edward Island foster child
Providence brings together a mismatched family, giving all three a second chance for love. Only love may never have had such a tough job.
Lydia Miller is an anomaly among her Amish people-a single woman in her thirties, running her own store, determined to forge a life on her own. But when Joel Yoder … thirties, running her own store, determined to forge a life on her own. But when Joel Yoder comes into town to sell his property, Lydia suddenly finds all of her hopes and dreams crumbling around her and a new opportunity placed in her lap.
Joel has his own problems. Recently jilted by his fiancée, Joel has seen his own dreams of moving to a newly-established Amish community begin to falter. The new community welcomes married couples only. With his dreams quickly slipping from his fingers, Joel suddenly sees the only option he thinks he has—a marriage of convenience for both of them.
As the new couple begins life in a new settlement, they are even more surprised when a foster child in need of a home finds her way to them. Yet what will happen when the English world and the Amish world collide?
Advance Praise for Forever Home
Forever Home ranks as one of the very best Amish love stories I’ve ever read. Amy Grochowski takes this genre of fiction in an enticing new direction. Her writing is—quite simply—fabulous. I could not put it down. If you love a writer who draws you into her story world and won’t let you go until the happily ever after—Amy’s the one for you.

I love everything about Forever Home—the characters, the relationships, the vivid imagery, and the refreshing plot twists. Not only is it a compelling love story, but author Amy Grochowski has thoughtfully interwoven the redemptive truth of God’s love and forgiveness. I was drawn further into the story with each page and at the end found myself hoping for a sequel!

This was my first book by Amy and (Lord willing) it won’t be my last. I really enjoyed the story (I’m a sucker for marriage of convenience tropes) and I loved that it was set on PEI. Looking forward to reading Amy’s other books!
What a wonderful story!
This is a masterpiece that captured my heart! This story is like a tapestry woven with various colors, like the quilt at the Lydia’s quilting bee: the heartbreak and suffering from the past, redemption and forgiveness, tender hope and undying love!
“The island is a place for a new beginning for us both. A new start. A chance for faith and hope to grow.”
I don’t normally read Amish stories but this one I’m glad I did. Amy Grochowski wrote a compelling tale—one that weaves romance into the normal life of the Amish and takes the reader on a journey of Truth in forgiveness and honesty. Sacrificial love is well portrayed. I recommend this book.
I am fairly new to the Amish fiction genre but Amy Grochowski has earned a place on my automatic read list. I enjoyed Forever Home so much. I was caught up in the lives of the characters from the first page to the last. This is a wonderfully sweet love story.
This is quite a unique book. You’ve got Amish who haven’t married but then have to and an English foster child is thrown in the mix too. Plus it’s the first that I’ve ever read in this unique setting as well.
Forever Home is a unique twist on the normal Amish novel that will keep you reading straight through to the last word. Enjoy! This is the author’s debut novel and I can’t wait to see what happens next for her because this one hit it out of the park.
I love a novel that pulls me in and won’t let me go. The characters became my best friends. I kept thinking I knew exactly where this book was going only to be then reading and going wow I didn’t see that coming or what just happened here!? It definitely did not behave like I thought it would.
I loved the setting. PEI is somewhere I really want to go someday so I loved reading about a community there. I think the author has a unique storyline in that she did live with Beachy Amish and has Anabaptist roots which is probably what made this story so believable. I will definitely be reading more from this author in the future and can’t wait for book two in the series to come to me!
The people within this book are real. They have real problems and they go about them in real flawed ways. I loved it and highly recommend you read this book too.

I loved this novel!
A new to me author that I immediately liked and since I’m already fond of the Amish this story touched my heart deeply.
I could relate to some of it because my parents were foster parents for many years. A thing that I was jealous of for many years. Now, that I am grown I look back and see that my parents were totally selfless. That’s a true gift.
These characters will melt your heart. You’ll want to laugh and cry with them in their joyous moments and in their sad one too.
A subject that Grochowski did really well with and is rarely talked about among the Amish is autism.
This story gave me a somewhat idea of what parents go through and deal with all the time. The Amish aren’t exempt from the things we are.
I liked that this story will keep you spellbound until the end. You’ll not want to put it down until you see what happens with our friends.
I haven’t enjoyed a book like this in a long time!
Thank you JustReads Tours for a complimentary copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review and all opinions expressed are my own.
The cover on the back of the book states, “A Canadian Amish farmer, a Lancaster Amish businesswoman, a Prince Edward Island foster child” and that makes for a very interesting and endearing story. I enjoy marriage of convenience stories as usually the characters do not even know what hits them until one day, they realize their feelings go much deeper than a matter of convenience. This is a new-to-me author. I enjoyed the story so much and will be checking into other books she has written. The characters are lovable, especially adorable little Samy. I recommend you check this story out soon!
Short but interesting!
I loved this beautiful story of Joel, Lydia, and Samy into becoming a family. Lydia’s journey into accepting God’s forgiveness and letting go of the guilt that held her bound and embracing the beautiful life and family God had for her. I loved their patience and love with fostering sweet Samy despite her uniqueness.
I love the answers this book gives on the Christian faith and holding onto what really matters in our Christian walk with God.
I received a copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.
Forever Home was such a good marriage of convenience story. I liked the way the two main characters bonded early on as friends. Both of them carried some insecurities into the marriage, as well. They had a lot to work through, and Lydia did not feel worthy of love, motherhood, or God’s forgiveness because of guilt that she carried.
There were times that I wanted Lydia and Joel to communicate better. However, the way they learned to share the truth and their feelings with each other was fairly realistic considering they were nearly strangers when they married. I liked that both of these characters grew so much during the story.
The way Lydia and Joel fell in love with and worked so hard to care for the little girl with autism was also extremely well-written. It was such a sweet part of the story and the dedication that Lydia had to doing everything she could to help their foster child showed what a kind heart she possessed.

Such a sweet, sweet reminder that our past does not have to define our future and that truly only the Lord directs our path. I especially enjoyed the Amish dialect sprinkled throughout the book!
