This final chapter in the Talon series does not disappoint. Cheyenne and Max must bond together and battle the dark. I for one will miss this series…for now.
Amazing conclusion to a fantastic series!
Forever Broken is the finale to the Talon Pack series and it definitely ends with an explosive bang! I have liked every book in this series and each one continues to get better. With this one, the final battle with Blade is coming, but he has some more tricks up his sleeve and he is willing to destroy everything to get what he wants. Including innocent lives and bonds that go bone deep.
Carrie Ann Ryan pulled out all of the stops with this book. She brought back older characters from the series and integrated them seamlessly in this book. Cheyenne’s character is such a powerful female character in this book. Her determination and resilience really surprised me and made me like her more. And Max … WOW. He is very pragmatic, but he is so much more than that. He really steps up to the plate in this book and I feel that made the story so much better!
Overall, completely and utterly AWESOME! This was an epic conclusion. The characters are very likable and the story was easy to follow. The tension culminated into an ending, that while surprising, totally fit with the progression of this series. So, two very big thumbs up from me! Happy reading.
Forever Broken is book 9 in the Talon Pack series and it’s also the last. It tells the story of Max and Cheyenne. Both of hear characters are wonderful and their story is an emotional rollercoaster but one worth riding. While I’m sad to see the Talon Pack series ending, this was a great send off. It had everything I could have asked for and more. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
The last book in a series is never easy to read. You don’t know what the author will do to tie-up a story. You don’t know if you will be angry, broken-hearted or grinning big when the last page is turned. Will you still enjoy reading their books or will you be adamant about turning in your #1 fan badge, swearing never to read another word they write? I am always wary reading a “last book” because I have been so disappointed more than once. Thank God that didn’t happen this time! This series ended with a resoundingly fantastic story that answered more than one question, delivered strong characters and paved the way toward opening up Carrie Ann Ryan’s shifter universe even more. Max and Cheyenne’s love story is one to be remembered and revisited, frequently. I can’t wait for the next chapter in this universe to roll out!
I am really bummed to see this series come to an end, I have been waiting forEVER for Max’s story. Max is the happy, go-lucky guy that you can’t help but love but the tragedy strikes and he isn’t the guy that only sees the best in a person or situation. Then there’s Cheyenne, with her close association to the pack paints a target square on her back. They both share an attraction to each other but have not acted on it. When Max learns that Cheyenne is in trouble he goes into protective alpha mode. They are the perfect couple to end the series with, both thinking they are misfits and don’t fit into the pack. This book is about family and protective instincts. An absolute must read if you’ve been following The Talon pack.
Forever Broken is the last book in the Talon Pack series. The Talons have endured and have gotten stronger as this series has progressed. Max Brentwood isn’t the happy without a care shifter he once was. Max’s life is forever changed during a battle. Cheyenne Liles has been distancing herself from her friends who have mated into the Talon Pack. Cheyenne is kidnapped by Blade, the Alpha of the Aspen Pack. Blade leaves Cheyenne for dead after completing a ritual using her blood to gain power to use against all the other packs. Max finds Cheyenne close to death and knows he must change her for her to have a chance to survive. Max and Cheyenne had been fighting their attraction to each other not knowing they were mates. Can Max and Cheyenne find their way as mates and find their place within the pack? Can Max and Cheyenne find a way to use the ultimate weapon against Blade? Will the Moon Goddess show Max and Cheyenne how important they are to all the packs? Forever Broken is the ultimate conclusion with an ultimate battle to the fantastic Talon Pack series. Forever Broken by Carrie Ann Ryan will take the reader on an action packed and emotional roller coaster ride. Love the Brentwoods and their mates. Sad to see this series come to an end, but what a way to go out. Carrie Ann Ryan has another major hit on her hands. I would HIGHLY recommend getting Forever Broken by Carrie Ann Ryan. I received an ARC of this book, and I am leaving my honest review.
I have loved these books since I first read the Redwoods and loved seeing the packs grow because of matings.
Cheyenne and Max, well their story isn’t all Rose’s and candy , there is an alpha who claims to be the supreme alpha and he has Cheyenne and the Talons in his sights when he tries to kill Cheyenne he doesn’t realize he has messed up and now with Max and the rest of the packs help and let’s not forget the Moon Goddess this story gives you the ending of this series it so desperately deserves and makes you love this pack even more.
When I saw this book was coming out it gave me the kick up the ass that I needed as I have had books 1-3 on my kindle for ages. I had some time to myself over the Christmas holidays whilst my princess enjoyed her Christmas presents, that I literally devoured the whole series in 5 days. Once I started them I couldn’t put them down.
Forever Broken was an amazing conclusion to this brilliantly addictive series. The final Brentwood is finding his mate in the midst of the war that’s brewing.
Max Brentwood has always been the smiling, happy Brentwood but after a battle he is left with his life irrevocably changed. He struggles with moving on, with finding his place in the pack now.
Cheyenne Liles is the last human from her group of friends left. She has watched her friends fall in love and them mate into the Talon Pack. She feels helpless and that her time with her friends is over. Just as she is thinking she needs to move on with her life she is thrown into the middle of the war when the Alpha of the Aspen Pack takes her to hurt the Talon Pack. His actions end up altering her fate sparking off a chain of events that changes everything for everyone.
If you haven’t read the rest of this series then I highly recommend you do BEFORE reading this one as the back story for each of the characters is essential leading up to the final battle. It will spoil your enjoyment if you don’t.
I am extremely sad to see the end of this series but I am secretly hoping there will be a spin off with the next generations considering the amount of children that have been born into all these new matings.
Carrie Ann Ryan has done it again! The characters in the Talon Pack are so amazing. There is so much depth of strength and love in their stories. I loved the connection between Max and Cheyenne. They had great chemistry and there was definitely heat rolling off the pages.

Carrie Ann Ryan
Carrie Ann has me on tender hooks with this book! Loved the way the story kept you in suspense, each chapter just pulled you in more with the story. Do hope the next series has the Talons & Redwoods in, would be disappointed if they don’t drop in time to time.
In depth characters, incredible world building, and a story that in my opinion can still be read as a stand alone. Romantic and perfect for a cozy read by the fire.
Cheyenne was kidnapped by a sadistic werewolf that wants to be Supreme Alpha, rule all the wolf packs. Max saves her life by biting her. They mate later, but she hasn’t become a wolf yet.
There are some times where Blade, the sadistic werewolf, uses the powers of an artifact to steal powers from the other alphas, or in a few cases, kill some lower wolves. They find out that Cheyenne is also connected to it. During the final showdown, the artifact and some wolves are eliminated. The moon goddess make Max and Cheyenne the Supreme Alphas. They have a lot to learn about their new titles, and the packs they will travel to meet.
This was the last book of the Talon series, for right now. Who knows what may happen in the future.
Great ending to a series. The end of the book shows us all the couples from the previous books, and their mates and children.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
I began this book with mixed emotions. I’ve been reading the Talon Pack series since the beginning and before that, reading about the Brentwoods in the Redwood Pack series. I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to them. Max had a special place in my heart, as he had been so terribly injured and was missing the bottom of an arm. He’d always seemed to be on the outside of his family, mostly his doing, but he was such a sympathetic figure. I was excited to see him finally get his HEA, hoping that it would help him regain his smile and help him feel like he was a part of his loving family, instead of apart. And I liked Cheyenne and felt for her as she’d watched all of her best friends become a part of something that she couldn’t be.
Cheyenne and Max are such a cute couple. I loved watching their relationship grow, even though it began backwards with a mating that couldn’t have happened. Watching Max get his mojo back brought a smile to my face. Watching this couple bring peace again to the packs was great. Getting to see the other family members again was even better. I loved this series in that throughout it, even with each HEA, we never had to say goodbye to any of the couples that we’ve met along the way. I loved the moments between brothers Max and Mitchell, a family dynamic which was sometimes overlooked because of the big group of Brentwood cousins.
The big resolution was exciting. Blade was such a great villian! He seemed to get more and more powerful and more and more dark as the series went on. His declaration of himself as Supreme Alpha was the ultimate in arrogance, but seeing what he was able to do was jaw dropping. And yes, I was able to visualize what was happening. I loved how the Moon Goddess, herself, was so instrumental in his downfall.
All that to say this: I loved this book! What a perfect sendoff to an awesome series. It had it all, the paranormal aspect, the action, the romance, the family dynamics, the friend dynamics … and then the ending that I certainly didn’t see coming! Or was that an ending? As sad as I was to see the series end, there is so much material there for a new series, or two, featuring these wolves. And hopefully we will get those series …
OMG, this book was AMAZING! Jam-packed with emotions and oh so bittersweet. Even though this is the last book in this series, there are so many more characters (including Audrey and all the pups) that I sincerely hope Ms. Ryan returns to the Pack sometime down the road, even if it’s a bit of a different direction, and tells their tales as well.
Both Cheyenne and Max in prior stories were more quiet and subdued than the rest so it was wonderful watching them both come out of their shells and find love. The war between the Packs has been heating up to intense levels and now we finally get the exciting conclusion. A superb story in one of my all-time favorite series.
As the last book in the series, this book does not disappoint. I loved this story for so many reasons. The characters really had to dig deep and be willing to sacrifice it all in order to help themselves and their pack. This story is the perfect ending to the series. While I am sad that it ended, I am encouraged that it left pieces of the story so that should the author decide to write another story in this series or create a spin-off, it would be a natural process. **Hint Hint**
This book is stunning…. a must read!!!
What a finale! My favorite stories are the ones that leave me wanting more while at the same time giving me everything. This is one of those. Cheyenne and Max was a pairing I was hoping for a few books back and I was so excited to see that I was going to get my wish. These two are so good together and they make the Talon’s so much better. I’m so pleased with the finale and I am also wanting more. I need a spin off or a novella giving me a glimpse into the future for all these great couples we have met within the Talon pack.
This book was a fantastic end to the Talon pack series. Max finally got his HEA and Cheyenne was his match in every way. I was a little curious about Max’s story because of all he had been through, but he was a good mate to Cheyenne. The support they had for each other grew out of the little time they had spent together previously. Their love and mating was not like everyone else’s and while we never get an answer as to why it happened the way it did, their mating was definitely necessary. I found myself devouring this story and read it in a single day because I couldn’t put it down. Readers will definitely enjoy this book more if they have read the other books in this series, so I recommend starting with book one and finishing with this one. This was such a satisfying end to the series and I can’t wait to see what Carrie Ann Ryan comes up with next.
Max finally gets his turn. Our laughing, funny loving wolf who has been dark and brooding the last few books gets his own story. Of course, there has to be unusual about his mating given all the issues also experienced by his cousins and siblings. Cheyenne is ready to leave and say goodbye to all her Talon pack mated friends. This book is full of twists and turns and even the Moon Goddess makes herself known.
4.5/5 Stars
Max remembers the days that he was happy but all that changed the day he lost a battle and part of his arm at the same time. He may be part of the pack physically but emotionally he feels that he doesn’t belong and that no one would miss him if he wasn’t there.
Cheyenne knows that feeling well. She has watched her friends find mates within the Talon Pack and in the process have become immortal. She knows that is only a matter of time before the differences in their lifestyles will cause a rift too strong to overcome.
When fate throws them together will they find the other half that they have been looking for or will their relationship end with the threat?
This is a romantic story about two people who complete each other. The story takes you on an adventure filled with suspense and twists and is a fitting ending to this wonderful series.
Max and Cheyenne ware the finale to an incredible series. It was kind of bittersweet to read this last book. I am so glad that Max finally gets his chance at what he thought he would never have. Cheyenne thinks that everyone will eventually leave her so she slowly tries to back away before her friends can, but Max doesn’t let that happen. I loved this story so much! There were a lot of questions that still needed answers when i started reading and Carrie Ann did amazing by answering all of them. She ted this series up perfectly. Ups and down, love and passion, and perfect amount of tension and suspense to keep the pages flipping. I’m going to miss all the Brentwoods, but i’m so happy with where this ended!
