Love never dies. But it can be damn bloody.IsabeauEveryone I love is dead and buried, along with any hope I had for a happy life. I’m learning how to live again; I just didn’t expect it to be so damned hard. Tired of my pity party, my grandmother sends me packing. Before I know it, I’m on the windy shores of Scotland with a map and a plan, courtesy of Gran. When a mysterious guy crashes my … mysterious guy crashes my sightseeing tour, I don’t even know his name, but I feel like I’m tasting life for the first time in a year. I can’t keep my eyes off him, and the feeling is clearly mutual. But when he reveals his true nature to me, I’m not as surprised by him as I am afraid of myself.
I’ve just learned to love life again; why in the world would I give that up for anyone?
Collum
I might be a predator, but I haven’t killed in over two hundred years. Life is fragile, and even someone as powerful as I has learned the cost of a life taken. So when I meet Isabeau, I’m reminded of the promise I made with myself; a solemn pact drawn up after a tragic loss. There are many benefits to being immortal, living without a mate is not one of them.
I think I know the way this story is supposed to end and I’m surprised when Isabeau has other plans. She lights a fire in me I have not felt in an age but my past has taught me one thing.
Nothing is promised to the damned.
The Midnight Coven presents: Vampire Brides
Tall, dark and handsome, these vampires are no strangers to the art of the hunt. Seduction and secrecy have ruled their lives for centuries, but these eleven alpha vamps are about to meet their matches and say “I do” to their forever mates.
This is a stand-alone novella in the Vampire Brides series, a shared world of stories from eleven best-selling authors.

Another fantastic Novella from the Midnight Coven Authors. Lisa Manifold is a new author to me and I can say I am now a fan. I love her writing style. The world she had created in the book is fantastic and the characters are fabulous. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the rest of the Clan MacLean.
Collum was turned in 1483, he has no idea who sired him. Having to make it on his own for years without knowing what he was capable of. After being around other vampires that have blood connections with either theirs sires or Mates, Collum desires to have his own Vampire family. When a tragic incident happens all thought of ever having a mate or sire a vampire is no longer something he wants. But to be around fellow vampires he can call family he created his own Coven, with other vampires that don’t know who sired them. He thought he would be without a blood connection forever, until he was chasing a threat he accidentally meets a woman who starts his heart beating again.
Isabeau thought her life was over after tragically loosing her fiancé and friends in an accident. But her Gran was not going to let her waste her young life by staying locked up in her room. So with a plan by her Gran, to find out about her ancestors, Isabeau is sent to Scotland to track down what had happened to Elizabeth Martin who had been accused of being a witch. But when on a tour of a cemetery her focus to track down Elizabeth is pushed aside when the tour is interrupted by a man on a wall.
One of my favorite in the series
I loved the character work and the world-building is really well-handled.
Their story is beautiful, it was simple but beautiful
It was worth the read and highly recommend it.
Isabeau lost her fiance and friends in an avalanche and has been in mourning for the last year. Collum is a vampire and he had to learn on his own about being a vampire because his sire abandoned him. Collum decided years before that he would not take a mate again until he meets Isabeau. I love that his heart beats again when he met her and how they truly love each other. This is a beautiful vampire love story that pulled at my heartstrings. Forever Blood is a well-written novella with strong characters and my first book by this author. I am looking forward to reading more books by this author and also the rest of the books in the Vampire Brides series.
Forever Blood by Lisa Manifold is one of eleven novels in the Vampire Bride books. This book is full of surprising action and wonderful characters. The vampire Collum has previously lost a mate that he attempted to bring over, while a human Isabeau has lost her best friends and fiancé in an accident. The similarities of these two lost souls who are brought together by fate to be mates is what makes this a wonderful story. This is definitely one vampire romance any paranormal romance lover will want to read. Forever Blood is an endearingly sweet vampire love story.
It was hopeful to read that after a great loss one could still find something or somebody to live for. And that one could prove life is worth living no matter what.
It was a touching experience!

Collum is a vampire without a blood connection. He was sired during a war between clans in Scotland hundreds in 1483. Normally a vampire would stay with his sire for many years. Collum however, had to make it on his own as he was abandoned by the vampire who made him. Years go by and he starts to build a family of his own made up vampires without blood connections. To make it even harder for him, his mate died during the turning process. He vows to never turn another human. He thought he would be lonely forever until while chasing a threat he accidentally meets a woman who starts his heart beating again.
This novella is part of the Vampire Brides series, made up of 11 books each penned by a different author. This gives each novella its own unique style. I enjoyed this book because it dealt with his fears, his emotions and of course love. He has to make a choice that is very difficult so you feel the conflict within him. It is an easy read and the storyline flows smoothly. The characters are interesting. If you like vampire romances you will enjoy this book, in fact give the whole series a try.

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Forever Blood by Lisa Manifold is available as both a stand alone read and offered as part of the Vampire Brides Anthology. This is my first Lisa Manifold read. I really enjoyed this quick read. Collum and Isabeau’s story is sad and tragic but has an HEA. I really like that the Vampire Brides stories, while written by many different authors, has an underlying connection to one another. A great way to read favorite authors and meet new ones to add to your TBR list. I became interested in this anthology because I enjoy Ariel Marie reads and not only did I enjoy her read, but I enjoyed the others as well.

Second chance and learning to get past loss
So good. My heart broke several times. Thankfully it was put back together before I was lost. Isabeau has experienced a traumatic event that took 3 people she loved. She gave up on life. After a year of hiding her Grandmother has had enough and sends her on a journey. Collum found his mate once but tragedy struck and he thought he’d be alone for the rest of time. Until Isabeau. This story tugged at my heart. I swear I was on the verge of tears several times. Thankfully love won and I was left feeling warm inside and a smile on my face.
I loved this story. It’s the first I’ve read by this author and I came upon it because of the Vampire Brides series. I can’t wait to read the rest. Collum and Isabeau were so complex and had suffered a lot during their times that it was inevitable that they would be mates. Their consummation was hot and their story so sweet. I only wish there would have been an epilogue and found out more about Isabeau’s ancestor.

Collum and Isabeau are fated mates. Collum is a vampire that has already lost a mate. Isabeau is a human that has lost her love. Going on the trip to find out about her ancestors for her grandmother turned out to be more than she bargained for. The two had quite the journey to make it to happiness.
