This is an excerpt from ,but it describes perfectly what Griffin and Quincy feel for each other. The problem is that they grew up like brothers, inseparable since they were ten. Completely different and opposites in aspect, preferences and professional choices, but somehow they just click. So it doesn’t take long before the brotherly bond to turn into romantic love, into a need for a connection far more intimate.
A.D. Ellis was brilliant at writing these two young men and the evolving of their feelings. So sweet, adorable and so desperate, convinced that they could never have the passionate relationship they dream of.
is a charming romance. It was fun to watch Griffin and Quincy grow up into the amazing young men they are today,I felt for their struggles and I appreciated the support system the author gave them with the secondary characters.
It’s a great book and a must read.
Forever Better Together is an emotionally sweet & steamy m/m read.
It wasn’t at all what I expected but in the best possible way. It’s not like other steamy m/m romance’s. It’s got a lot more depth to it and I was pleasantly surprised.
You get to hear when they first met at 10 years old when Griff was placed with Quincy’s grandparents in foster care. The poor boy had been through so much trauma and at such a young age. He was fragile and timid and the story really pulled at my heartstrings and brought tears to my eyes.
Quincy soon took him under his wing and they became best of friends and eventually adopted brothers.
Q used to live with his grandparents too whilst his dad was overseas working however when they were older and his dad returned he moved with his dad, separating them both.
A few years pass before going to college and luckily they share a suite. Their feelings have always been high for each other but they’ve never admitted to having further feelings romantically to the other.
These two are so perfect together. Their story is a bit of a rollercoaster.
They are completely different with Q being into sports, action movies etc and Griff being into make up, hair, beauty, Disney movies etc. Complete opposite’s but work so well.
The story was emotional, sweet, funny, steamy. Their bond is amazing and the chemistry was great. I also loved all the little Disney Quotes!
If your looking for something a little bit different but with a great storyline and meaning behind it then this is definitely for you.
Looking forward to seeing what else this author has to offer.A.D. Ellis
I was given a free audio copy from the author for review.
This was such a sweet story of best friends/foster brothers falling in love. I enjoyed every minute. It was nice to listen to something with zero drama that was just sugary sweet.
The narrator did a fantastic job with all the voices and putting feeling into it. 5 stars.
Quincy and Griffen are so sweet. They are adorable and funny. They truly care about each other. Griff is so insecure and sensitive, Quincy is protective and caring. I loved watching them discover this new facet to their relationship. I really enjoyed this book.
This is another great story! This was not the common story of man meets man. These two characters start off as strangers as children. It was so interesting to see them go from strangers to best friends to lovers. They didn’t come from the same type of life and you can see that remains in the characters personalities. The relationship was a slow burn that initally the reader doesn’t realize till the end. Another great story with characters that the reader can understand and bound with.
Fairy tales do come true
I really liked the quotes that appeared in this book and I’m a big fan of those movies too. This book was emotional and I admit that parts made me teary. Some parts frustrated me but I enjoyed meeting Quincy and Grif, even if I did want to shake them a little. They are a shining example of true love and real-life fairy tales.
A cute friends to lovers story with a cute ending. It’s always interesting to see how such a relationship progresses and the author did an awesome job in this book! Worth reading for sure
4 Cranky Stars
This story idea was born from an idea that several authors get together to create a story using a certain name and a few other ideas. Pretty neat concept. That’s how Quincy and Griffin were born.
Quincy spent a lot of his childhood with his grandparents because his dad worked overseas often. He has seen many foster kids come and go because his grandparents have a huge heart and foster kids. He’s ok with it until a gangly very shy boy named Griffin lands in his home and his room. Flash forward years later Q and G are best friends but there is something lingering beneath the surface and they are scared to explore it. Thankfully with some sweet talking and a shared dorm room things go from platonic to boyfriend quick.
I’ve read many M/M yet until today I’ve never ran into a very effeminate gay man who wears makeup. I was even surprised Quincy does because he’s majoring in sports management. That was one thing I was confused on was he still an actual player or did he move on from that? I know the author has this short window to tell a heartfelt story but I was lost there. All in all a pretty decent story if you love the romantic sexy type of books.
Forever Better Together is a coming of age, friends-to-lovers romance. Quincy and Griffin are pretty much opposites who fit together despite those differences. They bring out the best in each other. This book has all the feels and family in all its many forms is a major theme. Everyone needs a Momma and Pops in their life–people who love them unconditionally. I loved all the Disney quotes and references. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and urge you to read this book and all the rest written by the talented A.D. Ellis.
December 10, 2020 – edited to add my comments on the audiobook.
Audiobook review:
Overall – 5
Performance – 5
Story – 5
Loved the ebook, loved the audio!
It’s been just over a year since I read Forever Better Together and I was so happy to get the opportunity to listen to and review a copy of the recently released audiobook. I’ve listened to one other audiobook performed by Brad King (His Reluctant Cowboy, also by A.D. Ellis). I loved his performance then and I loved it now. He does some really great voices for the main characters when they were young and then later as college age kids. He also does great voices for the supporting characters – and there are quite a few.
Original review:
A good story that spans a lot of years.
Forever Better Together is a story that has a lot of different tropes to it. It’s a little bit taboo (adopted brothers), it’s friends-to-lovers, it’s new adult (college age) and it’s also opposites attract.
I’m not crazy about what I call pseudo-incest stories (no blood relation) that beat the “taboo” element to death. Forever Better Together does mention the brother aspect of the story but it’s not the main focus and it doesn’t beat it to death. Overall, I would call this a fairly low-angst story. As I read, I kept waiting for something to happen that would break Quincy and Griffin up and was really relieved that it didn’t happen.
The blurb really tells you what you need to know about the book so take a look at it. One of the things I loved about the story was how supportive Quincy’s family was. They took Griffin in as a foster child and ended up adopting him. When Quincy and Griffin came out (not at the same time) Momma and Pops continued to love them both and later even encouraged their relationship.
I also like how realistically this author treats anal sex between Quincy and Griffin; they don’t just get right to it without going through certain preparation that isn’t mentioned in a lot of books. The fact that Quincy and Griffin really cared about and loved each other was really felt as I read the story.
Forever Better Together was enjoyable, kept my attention and caused a few tears to flow – a sure sign that it was a great story for me.
A copy of this book was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.

I love this book. It was such a great story from the very beginning. It had me laughing and crying throughout the whole thing. It is well written and flows well.
The path that Quincy and Griffin take to get to their happily ever after has some twist and turns as they figure it out, but it is such a beautiful journey. I am so happy that I was able to go along for the ride
The best way i can think of to describe Forever Better Together is as a cute- no so much friends- to friends- to lovers romance.
Griffin is 10 when he comes to live with Quincy’s family. Things start off a bit rocky with the 10 year olds but they quickly become best friends. The 2 are inseparable. Well, until life has other plans. No matter what life throws at them the friends find their way back to each other. Now if they could only admit to each other how they feel, I’m sure it would make both of their lives a whole lot easier.
Griffin and Quincy quickly won over my heart. They are my new favorite characters by A.D. Ellis. I just loved everything about them and their journey! This book is one that I know will stay with me forever. The storyline was just as unique as the characters themselves.
