Princess Amalia twin brother just died, and she finds out that she’s the future Queen. She needs to travel the kingdom and find a man to marry – who will become the new King. Before she even starts, she meets a handsome stranger who helps her when she gets lost in a magical orchard. Rhys has an ulterior motive for helping Princess Amalia, but can’t disclose it to anyone. Together, they travel to trace the journey her twin brother took just weeks ago. They encounter adventure and danger at every turn. Surprise revelations are made that makes me want to read the next book soon! This book is an ARC. This is my honest and voluntary review.
I love Shari L. Tapscott’s books and kept hearing about this series. Book 4 doesn’t come out until January, but I kept plowing though the first three books because I wanted to know what happened next and you just get immersed. I’m a sucker for the hidden identity storyline, especially with wars and alliances and royalty thrown in. Shari’s romance is always swoony without being crass. Can’t wait to read the last book when it comes out.
These are just fun to read. They are a little juvenile but so entertaining. If I had found these when I was 16 I would have fallen in love and read them over and over. One of my daughters is reading these and loving them. They are fun adventure stories you just can’t think too deeply about. The world building is not the main point of these nor is character growth, it’s just about the fun adventure and the romance. Lots of fun moments, but a little bit of the Lois Lane syndrome started happening and I was rolling my eyes a bit. I almost knocked it to 3
Shari L Tapscott one of my “go-to” authors and I was so excited about this book. Forest of Firelight definitely did not disappoint, Rhys and Amalia had such good chemistry right from the start and there was plenty of love, laughter and magic throughout this book. I am so excited for book two and to read the rest of the series!
Forest of Firelight is a delightful story with lots of feels, but has treachery too, which keeps it exciting. This is a truly entertaining read with some witty banter and danger at every turn. Will Amalia fall in love with her self-appointed guardian Rhys, or will she discover his secrets before her feelings grow too strong? This is a first in a series with some big reveals at the end. I felt that the ending was too rushed and that it was a bit of an information dump. However, at least it doesn’t leave you hanging and you know there will be more good feels up ahead!
I so enjoyed reading about Rhys and Amalia. Their story is filled with adventure, intrigue, and enough twists that I was obliged to keep reading, even when it was time to be doing other things. I wasn’t entirely sure if I was going to like Rhys at the beginning…but I quickly came to appreciate him and his circumstances. Amalia was a little too innocent and outspoken at times and that brought me out of the story just a little. I understand why she is written this way, and it does make logical sense, it just didn’t fit the flow as well as some of Tapscott’s other writing. There were one or two instances where a word choice took me out of the story, but the story always prevailed. I’m absolutely slavering for the next installment. Anyone who loves compelling characters, a beautiful medieval setting touched with magic, a sweet dose of clean romance, and a superbly done story line should pick up this book. It comes highly recommended. 😉
