USA Today Bestselling Author Carolyn Ridder Aspenson is back with another hilarious and fun Lily Sprayberry Cozy Mystery, and this time, there’s a battle between besties, but not the ones you’d think! LILY SPRAYBERRY SELLS HOMES AND SOLVES CRIMES. I made a promise to my husband, the Bramblett County Sheriff. I promised I wouldn’t put my life at risk doing his job, which really means keep my nose … his job, which really means keep my nose out of his investigations. Easy, peasy, right?
Nope.
What am I supposed to do when I find my potential client’s son standing over her dead body? Just hand it over to my hubby like nothing’s happened?
Believe me, I’ve tried, but I just can’t let it go.
It’s either hunt down a killer or stick my nose in the middle of Bramblett County’s version of the Hatfield’s and McCoy’s, Bonnie and Henrietta, two senior Southern ladies in the midst of a tiff.
Truth be told, I’d put myself up against a murderer any day if it kept me from taking sides between those two! Risking my life is one thing but getting between those two is something no person in their right mind should do.
Oh, who am I kidding? I can’t stop myself from trying to help them too. I just hope I come out of this alive. And that’s for both the murder investigation, and the battling biddies.

Another murder in one of Lily in one of Lily’s possible listings. But her heart really goes out to the victim’s son whom she finds standing over his dead mother. She promised to stay out of any more murder investigations, but she feels the need to help this boy. Then there is Henrietta and Bonnies’ spat that is driving everyone in town crazy! But wait there’s more! But I am not going to tell you what it is. You will have to read the book to find out. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. I enjoyed it as much as I did the first one!!!
This was a very good book. I enjoyed reading it very much. Lily solves the case. I recommend the book to anyone who enjoys mysteries and ghosts in their reading.
I received a free copy of the book.
Well Lily has some good instincts. Though she doesn’t think before she does something and this time it may cost her marriage. Lily likes to do things her own way and if people don’t agree she isn’t happy. She wants to satisfy her own curiosity and because of that she doesn’t think about other people it may affect. Now don’t get me wrong she has a nose for finding the truth and her snooping does help just not always in the best way. If you have enjoyed other books in this series you will enjoy this one as well. Lets see how long it takes you to figure out the guilty party.
*I received a free copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily giving my honest opinion*
Belle and Lily arrived at the Crowder home for their appointment to discuss putting her home on the market when Belle noticed that the garage and front door was open but no sight of Alice. Belle thought something was off and before she had the chance to call the police, Alice Crowder’s son Buddy ran screaming out the front door that his mom had been shot. The police thought it was a case of bad timing. Did she walk into a break-in or was it something else? Could Buddy have killed his mother? His father? Or maybe Hank?
In the meantime, during a typical Georgia thunderstorm, lightning struck Henrietta’s home, leaving a gaping hole starting at the roof and stretching down to the ground. Since Henrietta couldn’t stay at her house, Bonnie graciously invited her to stay with her and her grandson, and all went well the first day. The next day, and the several that followed, however, were the start of round two for the Hatfields and McCoys. Henrietta complained Bonnie was a slave driver, and Bonnie argued Henrietta lived like a slob and threw Henrietta out. The bickering went on and on and got so bad that Lily and the group held an intervention for Bonnie and Henrietta. Did it work? Did they kiss and make up?
This was a fantastic read! The interpersonal relationship between the characters were outstanding. Bonnie and Henrietta are hilarious. The plot is interesting and has so many twists and turns that you are kept guessing until the very end. This book is full of humor, loving friendship, mystery and suspense. I highly recommend this book!
Lily is at it again, finding another dead body, this time in a home that she was listing for sale. Who would want to kill Alice? She can’t help getting involved, although her husband Dylan, Bramblett County Sheriff, does not want her putting herself in harms way…again…as she has done before. Tracking down Alice’s husband and her missing car is only the beginning of the investigation. If you enjoy a small-town mystery, filled with humor and many interesting characters, then this is the mystery for you. I enjoyed the good relationship and interaction between Lily and Dylan as she “helps” him by quietly questioning the people in town. I look forward to the next book in the series to find out what Lily’s news will be. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author. (by paytonpuppy)
Lily arrives at a potential client’s home for a meeting, but finds that she is dead. Despite Dylan’s initial protests, Lily does what she does best, and sticks her nose into his case. She is concerned about the woman’s son, and starts to get suspicious when things don’t really add up. As well as involving herself in the case, she also has to help Belle and Millie try to bring Henrietta and Bonnie back together, after they have a huge falling out.
I loved this story! My favourite Lily book, so far. Was such a fun read, and I can’t wait for the next book, after that ending!
Poor Lily – she has the worst luck. She shows up to a listing appointment and finds the teenage son looking over his dead mother. How can she help becoming involved in solving the murder? And Henrietta and Bonnie, the town’s old biddies, are at war. Can they get them to reconcile before the whole town goes crazy?
I love these small-town characters and especially the north Georgia setting. Join Lily in her latest mystery.
This is the best visit with Lily yet! She and Belle are on their way to meet a potential client when they find the client dead and once again Lily gets drawn into investigating even though her hubby, the local sheriff, insists that she stay out of it! Meanwhile trouble is brewing between the elderly ladies of town due to a rift that might tear the entire town apart! As usual multiple storylines are woven together to make one cohesive and entertaining plot! The characters are well fleshed out and their personalities distinct and robust. I absolutely love this series as it never fails to entertain and give me the giggles!
This is another fun book of this series. Lily is on her way to set up a client’s sale when she finds the woman dead. She promises Dylan she won’t investigate but circumstances “force” her to be involved. In the meantime, the argument between two friends keep escalating until the friends are forced to take steps. There’s also a hint at something wonderful happening for Lily and Dylan at the end of the book which I’m excited to hear about. Where’s Book 8, Carolyn?? Lol.
Foreclosure Fatality by Carolyn Ridder Aspenson was another fun addition to the Lily Sprayberry Realtor series.
Lily has her hands full in this one. Not only does she find another dead body but Henrietta and Bonnie are feuding which affects everyone who lives in Bramblett County. This was a complicated mystery with few suspects, plenty of twists and lots of humor. I do love Henrietta and Bonnie and their feud was hilarious.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. All of the above opinions are my own.
Henrietta and Bonnie are feuding and the only sides anyone is taking is against them. The whole town is trying to get them to stop this bickering and it’s up to their gentlemen friends to rein them in. Great funny sub-story to go along with the bigger mystery of who murdered a potential client of Lily and Belle. As always, so many wonderful characters. A great mystery with so many suspects and so many twists and turns. Lots of surprises along the way too. Looking forward to their next adventure.
I loved Foreclosure Fatality! This book is so fun and exciting. The plot is interesting and has so many twists that you are kept guessing until the very end. I love the characters. They are witty and entertaining. This book is full of humour, mystery and suspense. I highly recommend this book!
This is another fantastic book in the Lily Sprayberry series by Carolyn Ridder Aspenson. I have grown very fond of the characters in this series, and I just love how their relationships have progressed over time. In this book, Lily is trying desperately to solve the horrible murder of a potential client that Lily and her best friend and business partner, Belle, stumbled onto one day when they went to her home for a scheduled meeting. Lily immediately feels the need to help the victim’s teenage son cope with finding his mother’s body shortly before their arrival, and finds herself right in the middle of a murder investigation once again. However, the humorous big spat between Bonnie and Henrietta really made this book! Bonnie and Henrietta, two elderly women who are best friends and beloved longtime characters of the series, have a huge spat that involves the entire town! Lily dealing with being married to the town’s sheriff combined with her nosiness into his murder investigations adds another twist to this delightful story. This is truly one of my very favorite cozy series, and I can’t wait to read the next one! I was a lucky recipient of an advanced reading copy of this book in exchange for an honest opinion and review.
