On paper, he’s perfect. In real life, he’s even better. From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, S.L. Scott, comes a new compelling Standalone Suspense Romance that has been called “Best of 2019” and “Heart-stoppingly Beautiful.”Winter Nobleman is complicated. To say the least. It was supposed to be simple. Go to Paris, find a client’s daughter, and close a multi-million-dollar deal. … multi-million-dollar deal. Easy. Then I meet her. Stormy blue eyes, quick wit, and the secrets she keeps on the tip of her tongue make me forget my mission for a moment, or six, and why I’m in Paris in the first place—to bring her home.
Distracted by her beauty, I fail to notice the others lurking with missions of their own.
Bennett Everest is the twist I never saw coming. Talk about perfect timing.
He steals my breath the first time I see him and breathes hope back into my heart. He’s a giant in my eyes, a king among men with patience and love to share in spades. Six foot three. Whiskey-colored eyes. Solid gold on the inside. Despite the dirty deeds of my past, he sees the person I am meant to be and not the person I have become.
If the lies don’t kill us, will the truth set us free?

“You know, sometimes I think you’re the most charismatic man I’ve ever met. And then sometimes you open your mouth, and I just want to plug it.” “With what? Your tongue? I see how you look at me—”
Bennett Everest is the youngest of the three brothers. He’s single and ambitious. Ready to prove himself by closing a huge deal he agrees to travel to Paris to find a client’s daughter. What started out as dollar signs turned into a sign of another kind. His first glimpse of Winter turned his world upside down. Not that he realized it at the time.
Winter was very skittish and vague with her answers when she first met Bennett. I could tell she was hiding something, but I had no idea what. My head of full of Paris and romance as I waited for her to let down her guard and open her heart to him. Yeah, I know he was just there to do a job, but I knew where things were headed. Or, at least I thought I did. Famous last words, right?
I really enjoyed the witty banter between the couple as their paths continued to cross in Paris. I felt like I was with them, a virtual tourist soaking up the beautiful sights and atmosphere. Tasting the cuisine and listening to him attempt to speak French. But, detracting from my enjoyment of their attraction to each other was my fear of what would happen when she learned why he was there.
As she’s known to do, the author pulled out all the stops in the suspense department. She kept me guessing and gasping, just the way I like it. She also kept me smiling and sighing and swooning as I fell harder and harder for this couple. Getting to spend some time with other Everest brothers and their women was a treat as well. It reminded me of how much I enjoyed their stories and made me want to read them all over again. By the time I got to the end of this amazing book, I was wishing there was a fourth brother so the family saga could continue…sigh.
The latest romantic suspense from S.L. Scott!
This book is extremely true to its name!! Force, force !! Force of Romance, Force of suspense, Force of steamy, feisty sassy heroine, and an utterly delicious Alpha Male!!!
Bennett Everest to be precise! omg this man!! his humour, his loyalty, his strength, his devotion, his love Everything about him just melts you into a puddle!!
Two strangers collide and they take us on an incredible ride of romance, betrayal, hope, trust and LOVE and Family !!
Winter is living as a prisoner, burdened with the belief that her family’s safety rests on her shoulders. A family who disregards her and has treated her as nothing.
Bennett Everest is a stranger she meets at a parisian Cafe, and changes everything about her life.
I loved how she grew in confidence, i loved how she grew into the woman she was always meant to be. Strong, gutsy, and capable! I loved that Bennett brought all this out in her without force, but in ways that lead her to the beautiful person she has always been. His determination, a man that goes after what he wants and will let nothing deter him!! OH how i swooned!! The banter between this couple kept me captivated, the way they faced each wall in front of them and knocked them down left me in awe, and the way they loved left me in a melted puddle and my heart thumping with every danger they over come. This is more than romance, its facing the worst in life and climbing above it. Family relationships are tested and love is most definitely the winner !!!!
Bennett Everest has a job to do. But working with family can be challenging at times. Winter Nobleman just wants a little recognition from someone important to her. It’s too bad that they seem to be blind when it comes to her.
This book doesn’t say it is part of a series but as you get to know Bennett’s brothers you’ll wonder what their story could be about. If you read to the end of this book, the author will give you the titles you will need. Good for me, I’ve already read Hutton’s story. Bad for me is that I still need to read Ethan’s. A good issue for me is whether I want to read or listen to it – or maybe even both. Make no mistake; you don’t have to read the brother’s books first, as with the other books, this can be considered a standalone.
Even though the Everest brothers seem central to what’s going on, Winter doesn’t let you forget that she’s also a part of what’s going on. She takes us to Paris and had me wanting to sit in an outdoor café sipping an espresso while rereading her story. Good news for me is that I don’t have to get in an airplane to travel to a café when not too far from me is a place called, oddly enough, Paris Café – I just hope they don’t have a limit as far as how long I can stay. It’s hard to put the book down once I pick it up.
One thing I was certain of, almost from the beginning, is that Bennett was going to be good for Winter. He is a man who is confident but she throws him off just a little bit. I loved their walks and when all they did was talk to each other – loved their easygoing banter. The mystery and suspense was all the incentive I needed to keep turning the page. And a romantic ending left me smiling and looking forward to her next book.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
Bennett goes to Paris to help his brother close a business deal and as a favor, he thinks, to a worried father. Winter is that business. He’s instantly smitten. Winter isn’t in Paris by choice. She is eatem alive by guilt, sadness, and regret. Bennett becomes the sunshine in her darkness. Little do either of them truly expect the nightmare that comes. But even in the darkness there is light.
I FLOVED THEIR STORY!! Steamy, exciting, tender, dramatic, non-stop, enduring, amazing. Their back and forth, the setting in Paris, Winter’s panache and style, Bennett’s meeting with her, the excitement & action have me the same feelings I get watching Cary Grant & Audrey Hepburn in Charade. I adored every word on their story. I may even have found myself living in their story when I slept. You’ll love these two, the movie star and cactus flower!! I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Ahhhh Bennett! I was melting for charm, swagger and kindness through this whole book! He is everything a man should be! Winter was fantastic multi layered heroine who realized her worth and kicked ass! She was strong, sassy and sweet. Their witty banter and jokes had me laughing the whole time. I really enjoyed seeing the other Everest brothers and their wives in the book interacting with them. Their bond is always so sweet and loving. I loved the suspenseful element to this story, as it just ramped up the amazing storytelling S.L Scott is known for. This book had a bit of everything to make up a great thrilling romance! A definite must read!
Force of Nature is a true romance lover book. Meaning it’s got everything you would want. Grouping storyline, stubborn and brave heroine and an romantic alpha that doesn’t back down from anything.
The suspense that keeps you on the age of your seat will have you trying to figure out what is going to happen next. The banter will have you laughing, it’s quick and charming and witty.
I definitely feel in love with Bennett and Winter. This book also makes me want to go read the two other books, which I definitely will do.
5 stars
I love S.L. Scott’s books so I was kinda disappointed in this one. I didn’t read the other two but that’s ok they are all interconnecting stand alones.
Bennett is amazing he goes above and beyond for someone he never met. Winter became a mission and more to him. He is a sweet mega rich alpha male who literally almost gives up his life for her. She isn’t very nice to him the connection isn’t really there.
She try’s to run form him every chance she gets and then cry’s about how much she loves him and wants to keep him safe. She’s super weak and acts like she’s not.
I really like how Sl can pack a ton of drama and suspense in a book she can write a page turner that you just want to stay up all night to finish. I loved the other Everest’s and maybe I should have read them first. I don’t even know who my favorite brother is they all are amazing in this book.
OMG, this was an awesome book that was entertaining and captivating. In this suspenseful, well-plotted romance about mystery, murder, intrigue, suspense, kidnapping, drama and hot passion continue to keep you glued to the pages of this fascinating story. The momentum of the story keeps you wanting to read more. Bennett Everest is the handsome, sexy, millionaire that is charismatic, presumptuous, fiercely loyal, strong, and very protective of his loved ones. Winter Nobleman is considered a nuisance by her father and brother after her mother died. Although she was excluded from being considered an heir to her father’s business because of her gender, she was a fighter and a survivor. Bennett went to Paris to bring Winter back home in order to close a business deal with her father. When Bennett meets Winter, he likes the feisty, sassy, and obstinate beautiful woman. Then all hell breaks loose! Find out what happens while Bennett and Winter are in Paris in this suspenseful romance. There are several twists and turns within the story that makes it interesting. S.L. Scott manages to weave some suspenseful plotlines centered on romantic ideas with artfully developed main characters. The storyline is fluid, and it will pique your interest. Highly recommend this book.
I am a very new reader of S.L. Scott’s work and with each book I read, I am becoming absolutely obsessed with her work! Bennett Everest and Winter Nobleman’s journey captured my attention from the first chapter and I just could not stop with this emotional story! Pain, suspense, secrets and lies with a love story like no other made this swoon worthy romance a must read!
This was a intriguing and suspenseful story, Scott knows how to keep the story going without losing the readers attention.
All characters are well described and comes alive in my mind.
No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and lots of good dialogues
Love scenes is intense and beautiful.
This is the third book in this series but it can be read as a standalone.
If you like a romance with some suspense I recommend this book. 5 stars!
I thoroughly enjoyed the story of Bennett and Winter. This is a sweet romance layered with suspense, villains, threats, and a little bit of insanity. Through it all, Bennett and Winter remain focused on their connection and love, solving problems, and surviving to live a happy life.
Well edited.
Bennett gets an unusual clause thrown into his latest business deal. Bring the businessman’s daughter home and the contract is a done deal. Seems like no big deal. However, Bennett immediately finds himself keeping his cards close and wondering why things don’t seem so cut and dry. Winter is more or less being held prisoner in Paris. She really has no idea why – just that she’s gotten in deep with the devil and he wants her in Paris. The chemistry between Bennett and Winter ignites, and it isn’t long before they are running for their lives. So many questions. Why was Winter being held in Paris? Why did her father want her found? Why task Bennett with bringing her home? As the pieces unfold, Winter realizes the villains in her life are everywhere. Will the Everest brothers survive the hostilities? Will they accept Winter when they hear her story? Will the villains be defeated so that Bennett and Winter can achieve their HEA?
This was such a lovely read. While Bennett and Winter had quite a few things to work through, they worked together. I have really enjoyed the Everest brothers’ stories. The only thing that seemed strange to me – Winter is reading The Resistance in Paris. Which is fine. But, it seems presented as a work of fiction – Winter has a thing for book boyfriend Jack Dalton. However, at the end, the Crow Brothers are referenced as friends of Hutton and Bennett. If this is so, then Jack is also a ‘real’ person. It just seemed odd to reference the book as fiction when Jack is ‘alive’ in their world. Otherwise, it’s great to have Ethan/Singer and Hutton/Ally participate in helping to solve the issues facing Bennett and Winter. Enjoy!
The Everest brothers are all swoon worthy and Bennett does not disappoint. A great love story and lots of suspense. Another great book by S L Scott!
This is such a great read and an amazing series!! I need to find myself an Everest boy as they are all absolutely amazing!!
Bennett headed to Paris on what he thought was a simple task – collect Winter and then go home but nothing really prepared him for Winter. Yet when Bennett makes a little mistake he is at risk to lose Winter until he can prove his intentions.
I liked Winter a lot and soon I realized she was in her own trouble with what happened with Kurt. I crossed my fingers that Winter could rise above everything and realize she was in a better place with Bennett but for awhile it really didn’t look good!
I loved when things were slowly revealed and you got to see a much larger picture with everything that was going on and I was freaking out so bad once we got to see certain things.
I was definitely worried when Winter went to get her mom’s things as I had a feeling things would not be good and I was shocked at how everything went from there. I was so proud of Chelsea for helping Winter and how she realized that she wasn’t as bad as at what she was perceived to be initially.
The chemistry between Winter and Bennett was through the roof and I had my fingers crossed so many times that things would work out.
I loved the end with the link between Winter and her mom and everything that happened!! It was so awesome!!
I truly hope this is not the end as I need more in this series!!- By Rebecca
Live, Love, Learn and Survive
This book will leave you feeling empowered, overwhelmed and extremely happy. The suspense had me on the edge of my seat, and the love between the characters was electric.
Each word was chosen to create a story full of feelings and emotions. You cannot go wrong with anything this author writes, and this book is another great example of her talent.
This book is amazing! Force of Nature is Bennett and Winter’s story and they absolutely stole my ever loving heart!
Bennett Everest is gorgeous, successful and has the kindest heart. He is the last of the Everest brothers to fall. And what a wild ride that fall was! WOW! Winter is a force to be reckoned with. She is one of the strongest people ever. What she endured, even as a child, was horrific. She was like a flower that grew through the cracks. This author never fails to bring us strong heroines.
I am a sucker for romantic suspense reads and boy did this book deliver! I could not read this book fast enough! There are so many twists throughout, I was constantly on the edge of my seat. These books can be read as standalone’s, but to get the full effect start with Everest.
What a great romantic suspense story that was beautifully written. Bennett Everest is the youngest of the 3 Everest brothers and he is just as swoony and sexy as Ethan and Hutton!
Willow Nobleman is in Paris but she is really not there on vacation but she can’t tell people why she is there. Bennett is requested by her father to bring her back from Paris as a contingency to signing a multi-million dollar deal with Everest Media. Bennett doesn’t think there’s anything to it so he flies to Paris to find Willow. But once he sees her and meets her, he wants to get to know her more. As they spend time together, they both can’t resist their attraction to each other bur Willow runs when she thinks Bennett has lied to her about what he is doing in Paris.
But as Willow finds out, everything was a set up and somehow Bennett is the target so she tries to warn him but things get dangerous. They save each other and flies back to NY where Willow discloses what has been happening to her and how she was betrayed by the people that was suppose to protect her. The Everest clan gathers forces to find out what is really going on in order to protect themselves and Willow.
While all the craziness ensues, Bennett and Willow’s relationship gets stronger even though Willow can’t seem to understand why Bennett would want someone like her. Bennett is such a romantic and alpha when he explains to Willow about his feelings and his need to protect her. When more danger comes their way, Bennett and Willow must fight the evil forces that are trying to hurt both of them so that they can pursue a future together.
This is such a powerful story about overcoming all obstacles, threats, and hurtful people that are trying to get in the way of 2 people that love each other. I love how Bennett and the rest of the Everest clan comes together to help each other and Willow and show Willow what a real family is all about. Such a great story.
And the last Everest brother’s book is here! I dived into the book super excited and S.L. Scott has managed to meet every single one of my expectations!
Bennett and Winter meet in Paris, the city of love. Winter is in a very vulnerable time of her life. She has active demons ruining her life and she is scared of opening up to a new person. But Bennett is relentless. Honestly, I loved how the ‘getting to know each other’ part was written. It was slow and sweet until it was fast and passionate. Bennett is my new favorite book boyfriend. He is so loyal and sweet and such a realistically nice guy! I mean I already knew he was awesome from the previous books but nothing really prepared me for him in Force of Nature!
This book is quite action packed. There are a lot of moments that will have you biting your nails in anticipation. I have to say, I love the couple so much! They certainly didn’t have it easy in this story and I admire their resilience. Honestly, I missed them right after I finished the story. Plus the chemistry was just out of this world.
Truly, I couldn’t recommend this book more. It was a total five-star story!
So, I may have stayed up until 3:30 in the morning to finish this book on a night when the next morning I had to wake up at 6:30. I also had zero regrets about it, because this book is that good. If you are looking for a good, solid romance that is going to sweep you up in it. This is it. It’s the kind of book you are legitimately sad to see it end. It is also the kind of book that you flip it back to the beginning and read again because you aren’t ready to leave these characters behind and maybe you missed something on your first read through. So you read it once more to luxuriate in the story and the characters a little longer.
Bennet is the kind of hero that you fall in love with hard. He’s got that alpha-male thing, but he’s got a marshmallow core when it comes to the people he loves and it makes you love him even more. He’s self-assured, strong and passionate. Such an extraordinarily wonderful hero needs an equally spectacular heroine and you will not be disappointed in Winter. Winter Nobleman is quirky, spirited, fierce, and relatable. I can’t say enough about how much I love Winter from start to finish. She’s like this breath of fresh air heroine that I needed to read about. Then you put them together and you have love and playful banter.
Their love story is fresh and compelling. You simply cannot help but root for these two. The suspense in this book will keep you on the edge of your seat and it takes you on quite the adventure, and you get to visit Paris with these two what could be better?
S. L. Scott has done it again—she’s delivered an undeniably entertaining romance that will capture the hearts and minds of readers everywhere! Force of Nature is super sweet, sexy and suspenseful. I’ve read a lot of S. L. Scott’s work in the last two years and I love everything I have gotten my hands on. She’s on of my go to authors because I know that without question, I am going to get lost in her words.
Force of Nature is a dual perspective romance that will suck you right in and hold you captive start to finish. It’s full of beautiful and vivid imagery, so much so that I felt like I was walking the streets of Paris with the main characters. It’s full of drama, action and suspense. Also, just when I was sure I had it all figured out, S. L. Scott would throw a curveball that I didn’t see coming. I think this is one particular author that would write sexy romance blindfolded with her hands bound for sure. Yet, Force of Nature was more of a sweet romance that makes your heart soar, full of witty banter and an epic love as opposed to a sex heavy romance—or as my BFF would say, Mommy porn . Bennett and Winter fall hard and quick for one another which is just how swiftly I got sucked into Force of Nature. Winter is fierce, even in moments that she’s in jeopardy, her sass and spark was obvious. I just loved her… then again, I truly loved both characters and the plotlines of this one. Bennett is sweet, charming, and loyal with a deep protective streak that endeared him to me quickly. He isn’t closed off and suspicious as I would imagine a man in his position might easily become. And it’s a good thing, because Winter has been through hell and needs someone like Bennett to stand beside her. They were irresistible together. Bennett’s first glimpse of Winter pretty much makes time stand still and changes the entire trajectory of his life. It’s a close to love at first sight as Bennett Everest, the youngest Everest brother, ever encountered. Its important to note that while written as a complete standalone, Everest and Bad Reputation do proceed Force of Nature when read as a family saga. Yet you can read this without having read the previous novels. This isn’t a quick read, it’s a decent size book but neither felt too face paced or too slow—kinda that perfect middle ground for me. I mentioned previously that I was a big fan of the author, and much like any other author, I have my favorites, but I feel strongly that S. L. Scott is an author you cannot go wrong with.
