Rosa Cruz, the fiery and ultra-sexy heiress of the Mama Linda Latin foods empire, is determined to create something on her own and not rely solely on her family’s name and legacy. For her new upscale restaurant in the trendy Wynwood neighborhood of Miami, she enlists the help of her childhood friend, the hot, young Cuban-American chef, Eliseo Perez, who’s already made a name for himself on the … New York culinary scene. Despite Rosa’s reservations about a forbidden workplace romance with her new employee, not to mention longtime friend, the chemistry between them is undeniable. When the cooking starts, things quickly heat up in the kitchen and the bedroom. But with Eliseo’s troubled past coming back to haunt him, can Rosa and Eliseo hold onto love and keep the restaurant from going up in flames?

Forbidden Rose book two in the Wildflowers series written by Vivian Winslow. Book one in the series is Blossoming Flower which is about Flor de Lima. In book two you read about Rosa and Eliseo. This is more a friends to lovers type of story, Rosa and Eliseo grew up together until he moved away for reasons unknown to Rosa. This story has some steamy scenes and Rosa is very confident and open about her sexuality. The storyline was great you can see where both Rosa and Eliseo are coming from with their thoughts, feelings and fears, especially when the past comes back to threaten everything Eliseo has worked for, including his relationship with Rosa. Even if they are only friends his past has a lot Rosa doesn’t know about. Eddie from book one comes to help Eliseo out on the kitchen. You also meet one of the Baron girls from book 1 and get a little more back story about them and their relationship with their mother. I’m eager to move on to book three Uncovering Camila.
Forbidden Rose by Vivian Winslow is the second book in the Wildflowers series and to have to say I’m impressed. This book follows the love affair of Rose, a young woman that doesn’t want to be defined by her family, and Eliseo, a longtime friend turned employee. The chemistry between these two is off the charts and when they finally give in the resulting scenes had me reaching for a cold glass of water more than once. This book has a little bit of everything in it, romance, mystery, drama and while you could probably enjoy this story as a standalone the characters from the first book do pop up and it would help to read the first one so you have a better understanding of the series as a whole. I am definitely giving this book a five star rating and look forward to reading the rest of the series.
Forbidden Rose by Vivian Winslow is the second book in her Wildflower series. As good as the first this book is not one to miss out on.
Rosa is used to people knowing her family’s name. That’s what happens when the name becomes an empire. And even though it is all there at her fingertips Rosa doesn’t want to use it. Instead she wants to build something on her own that is entirely hers.
Setting up a new restaurant in Miami is never an easy thing to do. But with the help of her friend Eliseo she is determined to make it work. But to make things more complicated they discover the chemistry between them is irresistible. And despite her reservations about a relationship with a work colleague and long term friend Rosa isn’t sure she can resist.
This book can be read as a stand-alone but I would recommend reading them in order just because they are both so good. The characters in this book were just as engaging and interesting to read about. The story worked well was easy to fall into. I enjoy the writing style I had seen so far from the author – the easy flow and well done dialect. So far this is a series well worth reading.
Forbidden Rose is the second book in Vivian Winslow’s Wildflowers series. As I have not read the Lily and Dahlia stories (Rosa’s sisters-in-law) then this was my first encounter with the Cruz family! I had met Eliseo Perez in the first book of the series and I fell in love with his character there and was happy to see that he was next one up!
Forbidden rose is the story of the youngest Cruz siblings – Rosa, and Eliseo Perez, a talented Cuban chef (and childhood friend of the siblings). Oh my goodness! The story was a true rollercoaster ranging from explicit steamy scenes to heart-breaking past while peppered with exquisite Cuban food that feeds the soul and keeps one going even when one wants to give up!
I loved the characters! Even though a bit stereotypical, they felt so human and relatable! Rosa is such an independent and strong young woman who keeps fighting for herself even when it seems she is the only one doing it! Eliseo, so passionate, about the food he cooks, the women in his life, his friends … both of them are someone you would love to have in your corner! AND do not forget their will-not-take-any-shit attitude! They can do ANYTHING they set their minds to AND what great partners they make!
Pick up a copy and you will not regret the hours you spend with Rosa and Eliseo and the rest of the gang!
Forbidden Rose (Wildflowers book 2) by Vivian Winslow

This book follows Rosa and Eliseo. Eliseo is a Rosa’s brothers best friend and now has a job at Rosa’s restaurant.
This was a brothers best friend romance and these two had chemistry off the charts!
I really like these characters, even more than the previous books! I cannot wait to read the next book in this series! Great read.

Forbidden Rose (Wildflowers Book 2) by Vivian Winslow
4 Stars
I was a bit shocked when I started this book and found that it was not a continuation of Blossoming Flower and what the future held for Flor and Collin…Not sure if maybe later books will pick them back up but I truly was hoping to continue that story…But in any event I did like this story as well.
I loved the atmosphere that this author created in this book, I love stories built around restaurants and chefs and dreams that go along with opening restaurants as I’ve always wanted to do this. This book had it all, and some moments that had me grabbing whatever was closest to fan myself…LOL Definitely not meant for under 18…I loved the family aspect of this story as well.
I love this authors writing style and absolutely can not wait to move on to book 3 and I’ll still hold out hope for more on all of these characters as well as the ones from book 1 in future stories.
Yummy and Delicious! Forbidden Rose (Wildflowers Book 2) by Vivian Winslow is the second book in the Wildflowers series. I would suggest reading the first book before reading this one. Not only will it give you some background, but it is such a good book.
Rosa and Eliseno have known each other since they were young. Now, as adults they are going to work together in Rosa’s restaurant. As you read this story you will see it get hot in the kitchen and in their love life. Can they separate their personal lives from their professional?
This book gave me so many feels. I love how these two have so much chemistry even before feelings start to develop. Too bad something in Eliseno’s past might stop this relationship before it really gets going. Their story had me hooked from the very beginning and I loved how Eliseo greeted Rosa in her apartment with a little dance like they did when they were younger.
I am so addicted to this series and can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

This is the second book that I have read and loved by this author – she really does have a wonderful writing style that pulls me into her books straight away. The pace and the flow are so seamless and her stories are really easy to read. I’ve got to be honest the chemistry between the two main characters Rosa and Eliseo was HOT! Sizzling hot at that! I really loved them both and was honestly rooting for them both the whole time. I loved the intimacy and connection that they had. The author did a great job with some of the twists and turns especially with Eliseo’s past.
The author also did an amazing job with her descriptive language in this story; I could truly imagine and almost smell some of the amazing food that she describes. This story definitely had my mouth watering and for more than one reason!
A fabulous addition to this series and I can’t wait to read more!!
I love the way Winslow writes. It has so much detail that it feels like you are in the story with them. I would read the 1st book so you can get some background about what’s going on. The main character’s are trying to make things work in their lives but the past comes back to jeopardize that. I love the emotional roller coaster this book takes you on. I didn’t want to stop reading so I was sad to see the last page. I’m going to read on and stay with this author. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone!

Needs a different title. But over all the story was well written and enjoyable. The characters were strong and likable. Rosa had a unique outlook on life. She didn’t make commitments or promises. She had a goal and she wasn’t letting anyone get in her way even her mother. When she hires childhood friend Eliseo life starts to change. Eliseo has a dark and damaged past and its coming back to haunt him. His past could ruin Rosa’s dream that has partially became his dream as well. The story hit the nail on the head when it comes to Latin families. Abuelas hate tattoos. I didn’t feel like the story was complete. We don’t really get closure in their relationship. Eliseo rarely talked so we don’t truly know how he felt about most of anything. The only growth you really see is Rosas. Even though I feel incomplete with this story I am excited for the next one. The author has me intrigued with the families and their stories on finding themselves and hopefully love.
Forbidden Rose by Vivian Winslow is book 2 in the Wildflowers series. I really loved this book!! I love that Eliseo is an amazing chef! I enjoyed the drama and smut that this book has to offer! So far this is my favorite of the series! I’m hoping that she keeps getting better as the series progresses! I can’t wait to see what book 3 holds in store!
Forbidden Rose by Vivian Winslow is the second book in her Wildflowers series. Since this is the second book, I suggest you read the first book. This is not necessary but it will give you enjoyment for this book. Vivian Winslow produces strong characters that are deep in content. Her vision is written in such a fashion that you can envision the characters and the scenery as well. Through her writing you feel so many different emotions and that is one reason I continued through the story until I had finished it. So grab a box of tissues and prepare to read this story start to finish in one reading. In this story there are two characters, Rosa and Eliseo who are best friends from childhood. Rosa had just opened a restaurant. She wants everyone that she can do this without the help of the family name in the business. Her childhood friend Eliseo has made a name for himself in the culinary circle. Rosa takes a chance on Eliseo for the restaurant. One has to wonder if there will be cooking in the kitchen only or will there be more to the best friend relationship. Can there be something that will ruin the friendship between Rosa and Eliseo? You must read the story to find out.
“Forbidden Rose” is the second book in the Wildflowers series by Vivian Winslow. I highly recommend reading the first book “Blossoming Flower” before reading this one, but it isn’t absolutely necessary. Vivian Winslow does a great job pulling characters from the previous book into “Forbidden Rose” and giving the reader enough backstory to know what is going on. In this book we meet Rosa Cruz, the daughter of the wealthy Cruz family known for their restaurants and Cuban flair. Rosa is finally opening a restaurant of her own and trying to find the right chef when she decides to let an old family friend, Eliseo, try out for the job. All of the main characters are so enjoyable and I loved reading about their dynamic. I loved learning about the heritage of these characters and the struggles they went through to establish themselves is a true testament to love and perseverance. Vivian Winslow has built a beautiful world with these characters and their passion for food and life. I’m excited to read the next book! I give “Forbidden Rose” five stars!
Forbidden Rose is a steamy romance by Vivian Winslow and the second book in the Wildflowers series. This book is about Rosa Cruz, an heiress with ambition of her own, she decides to take a risk an open a restaurant in a trendy neighborhood. Eliseo has been working as a chef for years under a celebrity chef, but he is sick of doing all the work and getting no credit so when Rosa’s brother suggests he talk to Rosa about her new restaurant he decides to go work with her. Will these childhood friends be able to make the restaurant a success when there is so much heat both in and out of the kitchen? I really enjoyed this story, Rosa is fiercely independent but extremely likeable, Eliseo is passionate about life and they make the perfect couple. This book has everything, a love story, food, a hot chef and some serious chemistry between the characters! Vivian Winslow writes an engaging story that will keep you turning the pages, and I look forward to reading more by her!
This book…what can I say it takes you places in your brain you can not even start to think about. This book has everything to keep you sucked in and in love with. It’s sexy, steamy, fun and dramatic! You want to fall in love with Rosa and Eliseo. The book is everything that you hope for and more. It’s a perfect way to go into the second book in this series. At this point it’s one of my favorite books that I’ve read lately. It keeps you wanting more. It’s the passion you wished you had in your life!!! I can not wait to see what the author has in store for the next book!!!!!!
