A simple ruse: bringing her as my fake girlfriend at an important fundraiser where I need to make a great impression.
It should have been simple. I should have been able to control myself, but when I got my hands on Olivia, all bets were off and all my careful plans went out the window. Now I have to hide our relationship from the hospital administration, her roommate, and my father…
And to make matters worse, it looks like my father and her mother are hitting it off. I don’t know what I’ll do if she joins the family…
This is a romance novel with NO cliffhangers, NO cheating, and a guaranteed happy ending!more
Terrific hospital romance with a stepbrother twist.
Well written and enjoyable new romance by Stephanie Brother. This is a Grey’s Anatomy style romance where the Attending Surgeon at a teaching hospital is teaching a class of Resident Interns and needs a date for a formal gathering at a charity event. Dr. Damon Rye is not supposed to date interns, especially ones that he is teaching, but he doesn’t really care, he does what he wants.
Damon is a hot shot who graduated high school at sixteen, college at nineteen, medical school at twenty one, and got to be one of the top surgeons at one of the top hospitals in New York by age twenty eight. He gets different women all the time and is in no hurry to settle down. However, the charity event is for cancer and is an opportunity for the hospital so he wants to bring a certain type of date who can be able to support him as well as talk intelligently to the people who are attending.
When Olivia speaks to him after class about the fact he realizes she is perfect and asks he out to dinner where he brings up the charity benefit. Though they get in a fight and she walks out on him. The next day in class is quite an event and they end up going back ad forth a bit before getting more involved with each other.
I won’t give away spoilers, but I really enjoyed the book. It was a pretty quick read but had a good story and good supporting characters. Their parents were involved but the whole step thing wasn’t a big thing, which I really liked. I think making it a big thing when the two people involved are adults is kind of silly no matter what, but especially if they know each other before they know the parents got together.
I recommend this book, the romance is steamy and the story is great. Like I said, it reminded me a bit of early Grey’s Anatomy when all the Attending Surgeons were getting together with all the interns in the on call rooms, closets, and elevators.

Okay older man/younger woman
Forbidden Prescription 6 is the sixth book in the Forbidden Medicine series and is the story of Damian and Olivia.
Dr. Damian Rye is a an attending surgeon at a teaching hospital in NYC. He is an arrogant and conceited guy who has over achieved his entire life. He graduated high school, university and medical school all by the time he was twenty-one years old. He also things he is god’s give to women and does what he wants.
Dr. Olivia Rye is a first year resident and comes from the same hometown as Damian. She is really excited that he is her attending so that she can learn from him.
Damian needs to attend a charity gala but for some reason is not able to get a date. But when young intern Olivia mentions they come from the same hometown he takes another look at her and decides she can serve a purpose for him. Let’s just say that sparks fly as do a drink.
I am not sure about this story as I really did not like Damian’s character. There is being a playboy and then there is being a user and he was the latter. I thought he treated Olivia horribly and that she was way to good for him. But the do end up together and then things really get interesting because they have to sneak around as it is against the hospital rules for them to be together. Add in some blackmail by a fellow resident, discovering something happening back home with their parents and everything is being thrown at them. In the end I thought this book was okay but could have been a lot better if there was more character development and Damian’s character was not so horrendous.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

In this book we meet Olivia Hunter and Damon Rye. Damon is the doctor that all doctor’s want to be. Graduated high school at 16 med school at 19 an accomplished surgeon at 21. He is poised to be the youngest in his field as one of the top surgeon’s. Olivia can’t believe her luck when she gets him as the person to work with as a first year resident. Damon knows he is accomplished and thinks he is god’s gift to women so when he can’t seem to get a date to the charity function he must attend he is a little at a loss. After speaking with Olivia in class he thinks she could be the perfect woman to attend with him. Olivia has heard the rumors about Damon and isn’t sure she wants to be a part of them. She is determined that will get her position because she is a good doctor not who she is with. When family gets in the mix though it could all go up in flames. Will these two find their HEA or will outside forces make sure that never happens?
This is another amazing story by this author. It does have its ups and downs I really want to tell you about. However I don’t want to ruin the story for any other readers. I will say these characters will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. One moment you will want to slap on of them the next you will be rooting for them. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
Damon is a surgeon that is teaching some residents some skills that will make them better doctors. Olivia is a one of his residents and she knows him because they are from the same hometown. When she introduces herself and mentions their hometown Damon thinks she is perfect to help him so he asks her out for a drink. However nothing goes according to his plan. Yet when Olivia makes a point to get his attention again sparks fly between them and things get heated after the charity event he takes her to. They end up in bed and not sure they want to stop being together. Just when it looked like things were going well for them another resident catches them together and blackmails Damon. Then they learn their parents are together. Will these things end their relationship? Can they find a way to be together?
This is a steamy story that will captivate you from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Im used to other types of Stephanie Brothers books. This was nothing like what I thought it would be. Damon was a complete jerk when we meet him. I wasnt sure if Id ever like him. He did come to redeem himself so thats a plus. I wasnt pleased, or displeased, with Olivia. I dont agree with some of the choises she made but, again, she redeemed herself.
I will continue to read Stephanies books, although this one wasnt what Im used to

I work in healthcare in a different country to where this book was set but I thoroughly enjoyed the medical banter and work scenario settings between the two main characters. I loved sarcastic sense of humour of Damon and how he brought out the best in Olivia and her in him. Great irony at the laugh out moment when Damon and Olivia discover a new connection between his father and her mother that could complicate their own blossoming romance. They managed to deal with this complication like Adults. I look forward to reading more books by Stephanie Brother especially in this particular series.

Lacking in content and research. Sorry but this book wasn’t for me. I found it un-researched, hospital and/or medical terminology and vocabulary was missing. There was not a single patient-related dialogue, so what this book has to do with medicine and prescriptions, has simply eluded me. The main character Damon is supposed to be a prodigy, having attained a high position as a surgeon at the hospital by the age of 26. Consequently he is a self-assured jerk. In comes Olivia, from his own town who is an intelligent nerdy girl. They both want something from the other. Needless to say, there is some chemistry between them and the story is woven to create content but for me it was sadly lacking in any kind of substance. Characters were poorly described they both do something else than what their natures would dictate. The novel wasn’t given time to develop to the point to where the characters’ reactions have taken the story. It is meant to be a romance but other than in the last few pages, both Olivia and Damon are rather reluctant participants. They exhibit more emotion towards each other during their many arguments, than having a steamy physical relationship and the implied sexual chemistry between them remains firmly in the background. So much more could have been done with this novel.

An entertaining read of a teaching doctor who happens to be attracted to one of his first year residents. A bit of drams, some steamy scenes, chemistry and of course romance.

Damon, a one man’s quest to sleep with anything in a skirt until he meets Olivia, an intern from his own town who wants to do as well as him. He does try to get her into his bed but she rebuffs his advances until her flatmate gets involved. There are shocks in store when she finds something out about her mom and she feels guilty. Will Damon go against his conscience and be happy with a HEA??????? A good read in this forbidden series.
This is an entertaining and endearing read; fast pace and consistent. It is an engaging page turner with drama, twists, and hotness! The characters are likeable and well developed; the chemistry between them is off the charts and heartwarming! The book ended beautifully and I recommend it strongly.

3 1/2 Stars
I didn’t care for Damon and his player mentality who used women up and discarded them when he was done. Olivia managed to keep one step ahead him before she allowed him to catch her.
This moderately paced older man/younger woman somewhat forbidden romance dragged on a bit for me. The main characters were two dimensional and the dialogue full of details that did not enhance the storyline. It was hard to empathize with their relationship.

I liked it. She knew who he was because they grew up in the same neighborhood. Now the he is her teacher, it should be a big problem but not to him. He just knew that he could get away with doing whatever until she turns him down. I think it gave him some perspective on women because all of a sudden he changed his mind about her and wanted to apologize. They could have been something taboo but he would not put her in that position at the hospital at all or with her mom. He did the right thing by waiting and then pursuing her.
