At dawn I had a loving family, by dusk I have… nothing. Life’s been pretty idyllic for my sister and me. Our mother might not have fancy dresses like her best friend, Queen Roya, but the simple and unconditional love of our parents is all we need for a happy life. I’d never do anything to risk it, even if it means keeping a secret from everyone else in the world. When Queen Roya and her husbands … Roya and her husbands are murdered, it’s not just the lives of their three sons that are left in turmoil. For some reason, my parents start acting strangely, as if they have a secret of their own. The trip they tell us we’re taking should be exciting, but something tells me I’m not going to like what awaits us…

Very enjoyable and entertaining read and a great introduction to the series. Definitely let me intrigue and wanting more. So I’m totally looking forward to seeing what else is in store for this series. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received and the opinions I have expressed are my own.
Well worth reading!
Young Meela knows something profound and drastic has happened but doesn’t understand the ramifications in this paranormal prequel. 3.75 stars
This was the best prequel I have read. It will be an amazing series and I am already hooked. Recommend entirely.
What a tantalizing tease of what surely is an exciting series as we are introduced to Meela and the Roya Tripsett, and Jix. So much emotion packed into a prequel and I can’t wait for the full story!
A very interesting start to a new series! I cannot wait to see how this all unfolds. Loving it so far!
I love Prequel’s because they give you information about stuff you need to know. Already I’m sucked in to this universe and can’t wait to see what happens next.
I really like this how its a backstory to how it begins! I am excited to start book one! I am excited to read more about these characters!
Great start/ prequel to this author’s new series and so far I am really enjoying it. Loved the characters in this and can’t wait for more.

I enjoyed reading this book, it has a great storyline, a great start a new series. There is lots of action, intrigue and the chemistry and interaction between the characters is great. I can’t wait for more from this author. I received this book as a FREE ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
Good introduction to what promises to be a series with well written, complex characters and an interesting plot set in a rich world.
This book lays the ground work for what is going to be a great series I think
I really like the back story and the introduction to the characters. This prequel is very well written and makes you want to grab the next book.
This is a short introduction to what I’m hoping is a longer series. It feels like it’s a back story and it has me intrigued wanting to know more about the characters!
This story will pull you in and raise so many questions you can’t help but continue to read to find out what happens next. Wiila Hart does some Great world building with this story. I freely reviewed this book.
WOW, this short prequel is amazing. It sets up the Mindslayer series perfectly. So if you started the first book and have questions then you need to read this prequel. We meet Meela, Sarkany, Leo, Taraz, Jix and get their backstory. I was reading along and then bam it was over. It kept me intrigued with the supsense, mystery and seeing the betrayals that will be coming. I cannot wait to start book one.
***This is an advanced readers copy***
The writing is excellent, the story line is a little confusing because it seems to jump from character to character. But I’m sure that is so you will get to know the characters. The story is very interesting. It is a good read.
Oh goodness what a start to Willa Hart’s new series… This one grabbed me in my feelings. The anxiety I felt for Meela and her sister grew as I waited to see their world fall apart. The only blessing was the new friend they discovered. Meanwhile, the Roya Tripsett have grown up loved and sharing a trifecta of gifts only to have their world torn apart. Can they find a way to move forward in the chaos when they question the loyalty of all save themselves?
This book caught my attention from page one. The characters are interesting and the storyline is intriguing. I can’t wait to see what happens to Meela and Huali next!
