This is a well-written older brothers best friend/ forbidden relationship story, it’s well-written and quick to read, fun and dramatic. Allison has crushed on Zane since forever and now alone together in a storm, she decides to go get what she wants.
This is a story of Allison and Zane getting stranded together during a storm. She’s crushed on him for years but being her brother’s best friend he fights the attraction until eventually giving in. They have a strong chemistry and I enjoyed reading their story. Their characters are strong and the scenes are well written. The story flows quickly and smoothly and is an entertaining read.

The story line and character work were great. The book had a smooth flow to it. This was a quick, fun read which kept me entertained from beginning to end. This is the first book by this author that I’ve read, but it won’t be the last.

I thought that this was a good book. A delicious cocktail of tropes is combined to make a very solid base for the fun storyline. Now, as for the characters, I thought that they were ok. I liked the fact that Allison knew what she wanted and was willing to go for it. but she also came across a bit to desperate for my liking. Zane, I found irksome. I found his attitude a huge turnoff for me. I am posting a candid, volitional review.
I received this book as a ARC read and voluntarily provide my review. I liked this read. The cover picture bdoesn’t seem to fit the book, which mostly takes place casually on a island. That aside, this book is about Allison who just broke up with her boyfriend and plans to go on vacation in the Bahamas. Zane, Allison’s brothers best friend will also be there. This is the guy she’s crushed on for years and with whom she tried to get closer to and she was pushed away because of the “bro” code. The story progresses with love growing and Zane struggling with the right thing to do. There’s a weather emergency stranding the little couple too. Overall a great read, great writing and character build. Would recommend.

Allison has had a crush on her older brother’s best friend Zane but never let anyone know about it. Zane is dealing with what happened to his parents and fought the attraction to Allison because she is his best friend’s little sister. I enjoyed reading what happens with Allison and Zane and recommend this book!
This was a cute love story. It had the right amount of Angst, Betrayal and Chemistry between the 2 characters to keep me fairly interested.
Zane and Allison’s characters are quite interesting as well. Zane comes across as someone who is a bit hard an unbending but when faced with a choice, he never hesitates to choose love.
Allison is not the typical female protagonist. She can differentiate between her business and personal life. And she is also able to choose love without compromising her business beliefs.
So in short it was an enjoyable story.

Forbidden Lust is a fun, quick read that entertains and delights. Allison has had a crush on her brother’s best friend for the past 15 years but Zane refuses to ruin the one relationship that helped him survive his turbulent childhood although the attraction seems to be mutual. Fifteen years later, they are stranded on a resort island, during a hurricane, and surrender to their attraction. After the storm and rescue, they have to deal with the emotions, the revelations of secrets and determining if their growing relationship can survive. This is a great read that is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone.
I received an advanced reader copy from the publisher but all thoughts and feelings are my own.
“Forbidden Lust” is Karen Booth’s contribution to the Seven Sins continuity and features Zane Patterson and Allison Randall.
Zane owns a successful marketing company in his hometown of Falling Brook, New Jersey and yet he is still caught up in the past and how Vernon Lowell, then CEO of Black Crescent, ruined his family. From that pain came a welcome into the Randall family, where he became best friends with Scott, who happens to be Allison’s brother. With Black Crescent in the news, Scott suggests Zane take some R&R and knows just the place.
Allison’s company is based in LA and is tasked to recruit a new CEO for Black Crescent. With her stress level at an all-time high, her friend, and business partner, suggests she take a short vacation. Allison goes to her aunt and uncle’s island in the Bahamas, where she learns Zane is also staying. She decides it’s time to let Zane know how she feels about him, a crush she’s had for him since her teenage years.
On the island, Zane and Allison spend time together, but Zane refuses to betray his best friend and give in to his attraction to Allison. Then, a hurricane comes and they both decide giving in is the best option.
Once back home, their romance is put on hold when Zane feels betrayed by Allison. He has to decide if living in the past is better than having a life in the future.
I’ll be honest, while I enjoyed the premise of “Forbidden Lust”, I was not a fan of Zane. To me, he came across as an immature jerk and his background as a playboy didn’t seem to fit. Allison, however, is a strong heroine, going after what she wants in both her business and personal life (though reference to her childhood illness seemed to be dropped into the plot and held no relevance).
I debated giving this book 3 stars or 4, but because of the story premise, I decided giving this quick read 4 stars.
I like a good friends to lovers/brothers best friend romance so this was a great fit for me I thought it was a good book and a lot of fun to read. I liked both Allison and Zane they had great chemistry and thought they were a good fit for each other. This was an enjoyable read
When the past is worth more than the present…

Zane didn’t like to loose even if just playing basketball he needed to win.
The anniversary article on that family was to suppose to solidify just how untrustworthy they were after all they were all crooks.
Allison’s ex-boyfriend was getting on her nerves apparently he didn’t appreciate the moving company she hired.
And according to the jerk cheating didn’t make him the bad guy it made him human.
She couldn’t pass up a good thing when it came her way and there was no way she’d turn down an invitation for fun and sun.
Zane was one of her brother’s friends she’d had a crush on growing up and now they weren’t teens and her brother needed to get over himself.
And when that perfect moment presents itself Allison wanted to experience every single one of her dirty fantasies with the man who inspired them all only to have him get cold feet.
Being persistent can make many day dreams come true.
However when the weather turns and the two of them have to quickly leave Zane wants to keep what happened between them quiet.
Allison knew that Zane was still hung up on the past and boy was she keeping quite a few things from him after all secrets were like a ticking bomb just waiting.. Tick.. Tick…

First, that cover! Seriously, that cover is terrific. All of it, from that gorgeous dress to the looks on their faces, practically screams ‘Read Me!’ So, I did, and what I found was pretty good. Maybe not quite to the level of build-up from looking at that cover, but still pretty darn good. I did struggle with Allison for a while. She really really wants Zane, and she comes off as a little desperate. Nevertheless, she did grow on me, and these two do have good chemistry once Zane gets out of his own way and sees what’s right in front of him. Of course, there’s some drama before the happy ever after, but it’s a Harlequin Desire, so that happy ending is kind of expected. The drama just makes it that happy ending that much sweeter when it gets there. To sum it up, Forbidden Lust is an entertaining brother’s best friend, forbidden, island romance, and as such, it’s great for diving in and escaping the crazy of this world.
Whats a man supposed to do when his best friend sister has a crush on you and you’ll are stranded on an island This is the situation zane find himself in. Even with all the other issues like finding the man whom stolen his family fortune and beening the catalyst in ruining his family. This was a great read of forbidden romance and drama and angst. I Highly recommend it

I liked Allison and Zane but there was something missing which meant I couldn’t fully connect with them, Zane is just so jaded and stuck on blaming the past and stewing on it while Allison knows what she wants and Zane has been it ever since she was young so is willing to withhold a big secret to hook up with Zane. There is some great attraction, secrets, laughs, worry, fantastic family, the bro code and the chance at a happy ever after if someone can just let it go!!!

Well I’ve been in love with this cover since it was revealed some time ago, I mean it is fire. Unfortunately that didn’t roll over into the book. I loved the both of them but there was little heat between the MC’s, the slow burn almost burned out.
The beginning was slow going, getting Zane enjoy anything in life was an absolute chore and Allison was a saint for even bothering with him . There was also too much of them in their own thoughts. The supporting cast was fun, the next books in the series were set up nicely.
Book two in the series is a quick, fun read with a variety of tropes that would keep most readers entertained. The characters were well developed as was the story line.
