This was the twelfth book in the Princes of Avce Series but is read as a standalone. This was a sweet romance that started with a matchmaker, the Avce matchmaking agency. Miya went half way across the world to the village of Avce for a job opportunity with the guy who she was paired with via the matchmaker. He has to marry before he turns 30 in order to keep his fortune. They enter into a business arrangement marriage where she gets money to start her ad business and he gets to save his fortune. His heart was off limits as he was still in love with his late fiance and the mother of his adorable two year old daughter. These two lost souls are really perfect for each other and their chemistry is strong. Lots of drama with the ghost of a deceased wife. A precious little girl and lots of Christmas traditions and decorations. The characters were well developed and likable. This was an extremely well written story with lots of depth, plenty of drama and twists galore. A great ending.
Several story parts left untold. … A big deal was made about kissing at midnight on New Years Eve; then the Palace Party was NOT covered.
Forbidden Lord (Princes of Avce Book 12) – a review by Rosemary Kenny
Princess of Romantic Suspense Victoria Pinder’s fabulous Forbidden Lord is Book 12 in her Princes of Avce epic family saga.
Frederico (Rico) is the Lord of Avce and he has a twisty-turny path to find love with American singleton, Miya on their way to an HEA.
Rico lost his former fiancée one Christmas, leaving him to become a single Dad to a tiny baby girl, now 2 years of age. Miya hasn’t had much happiness in New York at Christmas this year, having recently lost her job there.
Rico, has to wed in the near future, or lose his estates and wealth in Avce, but hope springs up when the official Matchmaker tells him Miya’s a perfect fit for the role of wife and step-Mom. A marriage bargain. Miya is all set to get a promotion when her company pulls the rug out from under her and lets her go. Depressed and fed up with the dating scene, she decides to make a change. She signed with a dating service and they have matched her up with a Lord from Avce. She isn’t sure about going there and meeting Frederico but sees that he is also looking for a secretary so she applies. But Frederico’s main concern is finding a wife to ensure he doesn’t lose his inheritance. They strike a bargain, but when she starts to fall in love can Frederico ever reciprocate? He thinks he already had is one and only true love and has sworn not to love again. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
4.5 stars ***** I’m late, but I liked it! … she has a unique way of checking out the groom, be his secretary! His genius daughter is walking and talking at two, takes after her mother. Now he has a deadline to get married or lose everything for himself and his daughter because he never married her mother. He is still nursing a broken heart and has a very stoic presence. She colors outside the lines and is proud of it. So, he has to get married, she will do it for a financial opportunity (even though she is the one according to the matchmaker) for payback and I think she fell in love with the precocious little girl. The story was following in the series, but had a different feel; a good one. Very stand-alone where other characters from this group are not present here. There is realism, relating and a bit of fictional license for good measure. Very enjoyable read!

A lovely, family-friendly romance that takes only about half a day to read. I received an ARC and this voluntary review is my own opinion.
These romances in Avce are awesome. Each one is unique despite the overlaying law of Avce for nobles to marry before 30. The couples are unique to each story and Victoria Pinder put a special spin on each one. Rico is desperate for a wife so he can keep his estate and his 2 year old daughter Christine won’t be denied her birthright. Miya was given Rico’s name when she sent money to Avcematchmaker.com I could not put this book down from the first moment I picked it up. The addition of the bride’s family to the household is heartwarming. I adore Christine and how she is exhibiting advanced intelligence for her age. There is a HEA and the journey this couple takes to get there is enchanting. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
After reading countless books by Victoria Pinder, I can honestly say that I continue to enjoy her books. Forbidden Lord is the twelfth book in the Princes of Avce series and centers around Frederico, an Avce earl, and Miya, an American advertising executive. After Miya’s life is upended, she travels to Avce to apply for a secretarial position for Frederico. As the law of Avce dictates, Frederico must marry before his 30th birthday and suddenly, Miya is swept up in a marriage.
This is a sweet romance about blending lives, families and traditions. There are a few rough patches when secrets are discovered but love overcomes them and a happily ever after is accomplished. A feel-good, Christmas story!
It was the season of miracles. Except for Miya that is. She was anticipating receiving a much deserved promotion to Director from the ad agency she had worked at for the past 5 years. Instead; she was let go with a next to nothing severance package. Never being rich to begin with and with her mother not being able to financially help her she was at a loss. Shortly before she left her work she did hire a matchmaker; hoping that maybe she would find her a prince that she always dreamed of having instead of always having loser dates. Ironically, when she get home there was an email waiting for her from the matchmaking company. Apparently Frederico Cerkev, the Earl of Martina in Avce would be turning 30 on New Year’s Day and if he wasn’t married by then he would have to give up his title. Although he wasn’t currently married he did have a daughter. Feeling there was nothing left to do she decides to meet him and then finds out he needs a secretary. Thinking it would be better to go there in the guise of looking for a job opportunity while meeting him was a better idea. Can AvceMatchmaking.com bring these two together? I love this Avce series. Each book I read in the series is even better than the last and I love the way Victoria describes the characters in the books. I highly recommend Forbidden Lord.
This may be the very best of the Forbidden Princes of Avce series. No bad guys, just filled with people who had faced terrible losses. This book is about people overcoming these losses and the things that inspired them. Frederico has lost his only true love to death, but he is inspired by his two-year-old genius daughter. Miya lost her father before birth and now has lost the job she has invested years to. On top of that, she now realizes she has foolishly invested most of her savings with a matchmaker in the search for true love. When she gets a notice from the matchmaker that she has been matched with an Earl of Avce, she decides to spend her Christmas time vacationing in far away Avce and interviewing with this lord for a secretarial position he’s posted. The result eventually leads to a fantastical HEA not only for Rico and his daughter but for Maya, her Christmas loving mother, and her best friend Coral.
Tis the season for love. Frederico and Miya’s story is Christmas perfect, the gift of love… but it doesn’t come easy. Love never does. There are issues. Dealing with aches and pains of the heart isn’t easy. Feelings have to be understood, recognized and resolved. After all, both Rico and Miya have given up on love. But its Christmas, the season for love, peace and joy. It’s the perfect time for what seems impossible to become possible. Maybe it’s a match made in heaven…. at least the matchmaker says so.
I have read many of Victoria Pinder’s works and appreciate her writing style. I was provided an advance copy of this book and am providing my thoughts and opinions. This is an easy read that leads to happy ever after, but not without overcoming obstacles.
Fredrico needs to marry before he turns 30 or he and his daughter loses everything. But he is not interested in love, he already lost his true love or he thinks.
Miya is let go from her job instead of getting the promotion she deserves. She already paid for her true loves name through Cassidy program. Finds out it is an earl in Avce. But she has had bad luck in the love department. She researches jobs in Avce and finds out Fredrico is looking for a secretary.
She books a flight instead of going to her hometown where Christmas is a big thing.
Fredrico asks her to be his wife after meeting her because he needs a wife more than he needs a secretary. They agree on a business like marriage. But their attraction gets to them.
Miya brings Christmas to them.
Will Christmas bring a miracle of love to them even though they do not believe in love?
Forbidden Love continues the story of the Princes of Avce.
Frederico must find a wife before he turns 30 to secure his fortune and his daughter’s future, but after losing his daughter’s mother a few years ago, he doesn’t believe in love very much.
Miya has lost her job in New York and needs to move, and when a matchmaker puts her as a perfect match for a foreign Duke, she comes to him without knowing him.
Myia is a captivating character who can bring a new sense of Christmas to Rico and his daughter, and Rico learns to open up. What both didn’t expect was that this arrangement that would be beneficial to both would become much more.
I loved the story and the characters. I recommend the reading.
Another great book in the Princes of Avce series. This is a sweet romance between Miya, who is recently unemployed, and single dad Frederico. Their relationship starts out as a business arrangement but ends up more like a fairytale come true.
I thoroughly enjoyed this great romance from Ms Pinder
The characters were so great and the chemistry between the two main characters was scorching hot.
There are many twists and turns and lots of danger and intrigue.
The story is well written and very enjoyable.

Loved this one!! Miya and Frederico both think love is no longer in the cards for them so think that this could relationship could be mutual beneficial for them both but they soon realize this won’t be as cut and dry as they originally though!

Miya flees New York to overcome the loss of her job. Frederico is emotionally paralyzed by grief at the loss of his daughter’s mom from years before. Through the help of the Avce Matchmaker, they find each other during the Christmas season but that just adds extra drama. I find Miya to be warm, friendly, and caring. I find Frederico to be a mess. Love hurts. Open up and enjoy the story. I did.
I received a copy of this book as a gift. This is my honest review.
It is always fun to read about a girl’s fairytales coming true! I was glad to see Miya go to Avce to find her true love, especially since the firm she was working for let her go. I could see Miya being attracted to Frederico (Rico) when she meets him. I can’t imagine marrying someone without knowing him. Rico’s daughter was something else and I could see falling in love with her right away! It does help that Rico can give her monetary things even if he feels he can’t give her love. I felt bad that Rico was still so hung up on his dead fiancée. I know that clouded his thinking when he was feeling other things. This is a sweet Christmas story that helps you believe miracles do happen. I enjoyed the story and encourage you to read it. I was given a copy of the book and voluntarily wrote a review.
Another great book to the series by Victoria Pinder who once again brings strong characters and an entertaining story. She brings it to life with her descriptive writing and detailed scenes and moves the story at a steady pace. It’s a sweet holiday romance that I enjoyed and would recommend reading.
