This is the 5th book in this series and if you haven’t started, you NEED to! Lizzie gets more magical help with another device to help her find the hounds. And she also realizes that she doesn’t have to kill all the hounds to get rid of them. But it will take all the help she can get! Can Lizzie stop the hounds, get the device back to it’s owner and save everyone before the deadline?
Another leg of our adventure is over; ending in a “ten plagues of Egypt” cliffhanger! Almost all of our friends from the Mosaic Chronicles are back to help Lizzie. Strong and true friendship in the face of death is great to see, but will good triumph over evil in the next and final book? Will all the stress and pain be worth it? I can’t wait to find out! This story has lots of action- poor Lizzie and Abel… There is no swearing and there is very little PDA (some kissing, mostly hand-holding, and 1 quick hand up the back-under her shirt). I highly recommend this book-all Andrea Pearson’s books really (except for Blackwood Relic)- to those 10 and older that love magic-filled adventure stories. There is lots of violence in this book-good guys shooting and breaking bad guys’ necks, but it is not detailed and gory.
Forbidden Knowledge packs a punch. From the first page, you truly fly through the book. Lizzie receives a device that will help her finish the hounds off. But she must return it in ten days. Meanwhile, it is also time to finish Lord Kenan off before he regains all his powers. With deadlines looming, Lizzie begins gathering friends and allies to help her destroy Lord Kenan while also learning how to use the device on the hounds before it’s too late. *I received a free eBook copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Ms Pearson’s Koven Chronicles series is by far my favorite of this author. I especially love Lizzie’s character. In this book five of the series, Lizzie shows her ingenuity to find all the evil hounds and dispose of them by a certain deadline. She and her friends work tirelessly to make this happen. We also get to witness a little romance going on between Lizzie and Abel. A lot of action and twists here also all in preparation to meet the evil Lord Kenan and defeat his plans. I highly recommend reading this book if you enjoy action, magic, romance, and light suspense.
Andrea Pearson’s Koven Chronicles truly is a masterpiece that is growing ever more complex and interesting in each installment while remaining exciting and fun, full of action and thrills in each book. The good news is that it’s a fantastically superb ride for those who have been following along from book 1 (The Shade Amulet, a truly fantastic book that I reviewed separately) is that Forbidden Knowledge (Book 5) somehow maintains the pace and keeps its readers as addictively drawn in as the prior books. The flip side of this is that, while you (kinda sorta) can read this book 5 as a stand-alone, this really is the kind of series that needs to be read from its first book. A warning for newcomers though: this is highly addictive stuff so be prepared for the compulsion that will keep you reading till blissed out exhaustion. What more can I say? But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises – the book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, it is easy to highly recommend. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in this series.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It has been a great series and I can’t wait for the final book to be written which will wrap this particular series up!
The action is non-stop and it’s great to follow the characters to places I’ve always wanted to visit myself.
Do yourself a favor and pick up The Shade Amulet (first book in this series) and come along with those of us who have started this series and I believe you will also fall under Andrea’s spell as she skillfully weaves her magic that keeps us readers glued to these page turning books of hers!
I most heartily recommend this book to one and all who love books with magic, love interests, suspense and action. The characters are those you would love to be around yourself as they battle the forces of evil and isn’t that what we do each day of our lives in one form or another?
