The first book in the Wildwood series, Forbidden Fling is about Delaney, the bad girl that’s returned home to face her past, and Ethan, the golden boy struggling to find himself. You could just feel the chemistry between Delaney and Ethan as they worked to overcome their pasts and the history surrounding both of their families. Overall I really enjoyed the story. It’s kind of like a modern day Romeo and Juliette.

This is my first Skye Jordan book—I loved it! Great writing and a fun setting. I loved Ethan and Delaney, the whole renovation idea and the details of Delaney’s work, and the steamy scenes were smoking hot! I’ll definitely be reading more Skye Jordan books!
Forbidden Fling was an enjoyable read. It took me a little bit to get use to the third person writing style(for some reason 3rd person always takes me a minute to get use too) but once I did I really got into the story. I loved the whole modern Romeo and Juliet, star crossed, enemy families theme going on in this book. The drama kept me on edge wondering how they were going to ever be together and what would happen next.
Ethan and Delaney were both likable and down to earth characters. I loved Delaney’s sassy mouth and thick skin. She didn’t take anyone’s crap but didn’t come off hateful. Ethan was very sexy and all that dirty talk he did upped his hotness points. They had some major chemistry and were burning up the pages with their passion.
Ethan’s family drove me crazy. I loved it every time Ethan stood up to them. All the other secondary characters were intriguing. I really liked the little bit of Avery I got to see and I hope her book is next. Overall I really liked this read. The reason I gave it 3.5 stars is because I would have like more relationship development. There was plenty of sex and that is fine but I would have liked a little more quality time between the couple so I could have felt their love. Also I didn’t like the abrupt ending. It was jarring. I went to turn the page and nothing it was over and I was like wow that’s it. I will be reading Avery’s book if and when it comes out!
Delaney never wanted to return to her hometown but when she loses her job, she finds herself forced back to deal with the family’s bar that has been closed for years. She always hoped her sisters would want to run it so she kept the taxes/insurance current to give them this option. Ethan always loved Delaney but she never noticed him in high school. When Delaney returns to deal with the bar, Ethan finds a second chance to with her. The bigger challenge is that their two families hate each other. Another issue for Ethan is, he needs her liquor license to open up his dream with his grandfather. There is a lot of drama as these two individuals fight old prejudices to realize their own dreams. Maybe along the way they can find love.
After the death of her father, and the city’s impending plans to condemn his business, Delaney Hart is forced to return home, and face her demons head on. She never planned to come back to this place, it’s a place filled with haunting memories, insurmountable regret, and people filled with rage, she created, who hoped she’d returned home. The minute she arrives she finds herself stuck between a rock and a hard place, on one hand she wants to try and save the bar so her sisters can carry on the family legacy, but on the other, the money she’d have to sink into it to get it inhabitable again will take all her life savings, and if the city goes ahead with their plans to condemn it will ruin the good name she’s fought so hard to make for herself. And to make matters worse the man she chose to have a little one night stand with on her first night in town, just so happens to be the city’s building inspector, and a man who has ties to her haunting past…
The minute Ethan Hayes laid eyes on the beauty pacing in the dark in front of one of the city’s most notorious buildings, he knows it’s the woman who captured his attention so many years ago. And as soon as he approaches her, the air between them starts to crackle with an undeniable spark, and he also realizes she has no idea who he is. And on some level he is okay with that, because he knows it may just ruin whatever this is that’s happening between them now, and he’s not ready to let it go just yet…
This sexy little story captured my attention from the get-go, and had me swiping the pages like a madwoman to see what would happen between these two next!! Delaney and Ethan’s story is full of promise, passion, humor, and toe curling loves scenes that will leave you blushing! I thoroughly enjoyed my time with these two, and can’t wait to see what becomes of them, their family members and friends in future installments! Highly recommend this one, it is sure to give you the feels and have you swooning long after the last page is swiped!!
Forbidden Fling is the first book in a brand new series from Skye Jordan. It introduces us to the delicious Ethan Hayes and feisty Delaney Hart. You’ve heard of the Hatfields and McCoys? Well they ain’t got nothing on the Hayes and the Harts…strap on your seatbelt and prepare yourself for one heck of an emotional ride!
Ethan has harbored a secret crush on Delaney since high school, but she was always interested in a different kind of guy, the kind he could never compare to…older, tattooed bikers. Delaney is back in town and he’s determined to not let this opportunity pass him by. But old hurts, long held family grudges, and deep-seated resentments are all working against him, not to mention his own secret he’s keeping.
Ethan ranks right up there as one of my favorite Skye Jordan’s heroes; he sure gives those Renegade boys a run for their money! He’s one of those characters that I just adore- strong, determined, family-oriented, but he also has a softer vulnerable side that really comes through in his dealings with his grandfather. Although at times he did frustrate me, I wanted him to take a stand against his father and brother earlier than he did- it bothered me how he just let them walk all over him, without putting up much of a fight.
I think Delaney is probably my favorite of all Skye’s female characters. She’s dealt with so much in her life, but she hasn’t let that deter her. She is one tough cookie who doesn’t cower even when faced with folks in her home town determined to run her right back out.
The chemistry between Ethan and Delaney is off the charts. As hard as they try to keep their distance, to keep things between them on a professional level, they can’t help being drawn to each other. But with the past intruding and Ethan’s family causing trouble things begin to spiral out of control. Just when it seems like all hope is lost, there’s light at the end of the tunnel and the journey towards happiness for both Ethan and Delaney may just be in reach.
