This is the third book in the Lee County wolves series by Teresa Gableman. And like the other books I really enjoyed this story and I could related to it on a deeper level. This story was about Marcus and Roxy . While Roxy being human Marcus knew as soon as he laid eyes on her that she was his mate. But had to control his urge to take her because she had a few issues and he didn’t want to scare her off. Roxy was saved by Garrett the Alpha wolf leader bringing her back to his county to help her reajust and start a new life. She was a victim of domestic violence and was slowly getting better . Not knowing the full extent of Roxy’s past Marcus patiently waited for the right time to claim her as his own. However in the mean time there was drama happening all around them and just when Roxy least expected it she was once again faced with her past . Only this time she wasn’t a victim she was loved she was stronger she took back her control never to be mistreated by anyone ever again. I’m loving this series and I hope there will more to come in the future.
**********Contains Spoilers**********
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved the connection between Roxy and Marcus. Garrett saved Roxy from her ab*sive husband when he found her being be*ten in a restaurant car park and brought back to Lee County when she told him not to take her to the hospital but to get her somewhere save. Roxy also lost her baby the same night but never told anyone as she felt like it was her fault as she knew she was pregnant but knew that after he hit her in the back of head in public she had to fight him and try and get away from him because he’d never hit her in public before so knew that if he got her home he’d most likely k*ll her. Roxy has been through so much but her and Marcus are great together and don’t bother to let her husband have anymore bearing on what she does so they get together even if she’s still technically married. Marcus told her that he lost the right to being her husband the first time he laid a hand on her in anger. I think they’re perfect for each other and loved seeing Roxy get her old self back and being able to stick up/fight for herself. Marcus helped when he heard the whole story about what she’d been through and that her husband made her keep the house tidy and organised, he then told her that it’s okay to leave dishes until tomorrow and then looked in her cutlery draw and started mixing all the cutlery together after she’d nodded that it was okay so then it freed something in her. There was a lot more conflict in this book which I loved as it made the story exciting. I’m looking forward to reading Dell’s story next. I’d recommend this book, series and author to everyone.
Teresa is a wonderful author I will read anything she writes. I really like this series and look forward to the next.
